How much do you engage yourself in what's truly real and important in life? That's the individual question.

There Is No Such Thing As An Individual

She looked at me
and asked.
'What is your answer? '

I was startled
and caught up short.

Simple question.

But I did not know
what the answer was.

'Who am I'?
I blurted out
vying for time;
I gave her my name
narrowing it to the millions
of Jim Jones in the world.

But am I my name?

She said

What else.?

'I am Hedi's Father
and Lisa's husband'

but before this response rolled away
into silence
I knew it wasn't enough.

So who else?

'I like hockey' I said
and knew even this
fell short.

How do I single out
the Me among millions?

What could I say
without out offering
fingerprints or DNA?

What would you say?

Maybe I should have given her
an address.
Only I live there.
But my address
is not my essence.

So who
in fact
is the I-
the me,
that I see-
as individual
and precious?

I really didn't
at that point
have an answer.

What about achievements?
.
How many individuals have
my job
and my name?

Fewer still.

This at least narrows it.

But then
the thought came;
I am not an individual.

I am the Me that
has a family and a history
a genealogy;
only me
has that.

I am not an individual
but a person
who can be identified
in the web of relationships
which surround me;
have surrounded me;

which in the end
have defined me.

I am not an individual.

I am all the people who
have influenced me-
nurtured me been kind to me or hurtful.

So there is then
this myth of the individual
which is not so.

But if this is not true
is it not so that much
of society and indeed Democracy itself
is premised

on the creating the conditions
for individual expression;
individual growth?

Is this premise correct
and the individual lives;
or is it that more real
is society and social relationships.?
So which is which?
But then again, one cannot touch society.

Confusing no?

Las Palabras De Amor

Guilt stains on my pillow
Blood on ny terraces
Torsos in my closet
Shadows from my past live is real
Life is real, life is real, so real
Sleeping is my leisure
Waking up in a minefield
Dream is just a pleasure dome
Love is a roulette wheel - life is real
Life is real, life is real, oh yeah
Success is my breathing space
I brought it on myself
I will price it
I will cash it
I can take it or leave it
Loneliness is my hiding place
Breastfeeding myself
What more can I say
I have swallowed the bitter pill
I can taste it, I can taste it
Life is real, life is real, life is real
Music will be my mistres
Loving like a whore
Lennon is a genius
Living in every pore
Life is real, life is real, life is real, so real
Life is cruel
Life is a bitch
Life is real - so real

Scholarly Wish

To learn more in life is scholarly wish
It may remain there till you perish
What will be more important is its proper use
What if one uses as only tool for misuse?

It is stubbornness of mind
That may lead you to find
The treasure of life and its message
Till you reach at the dead end of an age

Life can be considered as sea deep
Very sour taste and unpleasant to keep
Yet it vastness may always appeal
It is magnificent and in fact real

We may not in whole of life fully learn
Who knows at what moment it may turn?
Against or in favor to shower the fortune
You may swing in favor or out of tune

You may claim to be scholar
But it may be very slender
What you know may of little use
Not enough to convince and defuse

Nobody has understood life so far
It is like far off object twinkling like star
It may provide no light
Only we may boost and consider it right

Know little bit and try to consume
What can be real message and journey to resume?
No one may be able to predict direction in time
We may be diverted on the way many times

Think precisely in what can be true?
As no one may be assertively take you through
It will be journey fully controlled by an individual
Whether he leads simple life or that of dual person

Real Life

Mmm bop it's real life
Mmm bop it's just real life
Mmm bop it's real life
Mmm bop it's just real life
Stop me if you've heard this
It's the one about the King
Who's married to the princess
That brings good use to wear his ring

She's tired and she's lonely
Cause she's sittin there at home
He's out there with his buddies
And you know what they are doin

Mmm bop it's real life
Mmm bop it's just real life
Mmm bop it's real life
Mmm bop it's just real life

Stop me if you've heard this
Yeah the one about the boy
That's wasting all his money
Buying nasty little toys

He Thinks the girlies love it
But this ain't no fairytale
They just want what's in his wallet
Don't pass go just go to jail

Mmm bop it's real life
Mmm bop it's just real life
Mmm bop it's real life
Mmm bop it's just real life

You're never gonna change a thing
So just stop flappin
You're never gonna do with what you cannot see

Mmm bop

The most important function of education at any level is to develop the personality of the individual and the significance of his life to himself and to others. This is the basic architecture of a life the rest is ornamentation and decoration of the structure.

Question Meaning

The meaning of the question
Is to always question meaning,
The meaning of life,
And the life of meaning.

The life unquestioned
Means very little,
Just as a life left meaningless,
Without question, has very little life.

Therefore, we all should daily question
The meaning of life,
By doing so, life's Meaning
Will unquestionably, each day, find us.

Remember: we are free to question meaning;
May we become free enough to
Let it freely question us.

Each day is same

Each day is same
Becomes Important
With the event
That happens
On the fateful day
Remembered
By one and all
Lies embedded
In heart and mind
Becomes history
With the
Passage of time
Some remember
With tears in eyes
Some with a big smile
Some take it
As one of many
Each day is same
How important it is
Depends on
Individual feelings

Instead of raising your hand to ask a question in class, how about individual push buttons on each desk That way, when you want to ask a question, you just push the button and it lights up a corresponding number on a tote board at the front of the class. Then all the professor has to do is check the lighted number against a master sheet of names and numbers to see who is asking the question.

To live on the real life rails

We often look for the one to be ideal,
but when we meet the one who is real
we give foolish criteria
and it looks as a mystery.
Expecting the one from the fairy tales
we very often get only fails.
We want to get everything at once,
to get our chance.
As a result we burn the time,
loose the last dime.
May be it’s more important just to live,
think how to give,
not only to take
or live for someone’s sake.
Our life is the only one
and all in it has to be done
so that not to regret,
may be something to forget,
think what is more important,
get out of the routine,
to build our own mooring,
and…during the life time
listen to the chime,
and…hear the bells
which tell how to live,
how to love,
how to create the things
I’ve told you above,
without any tales
but on the real life rails.

C.S. Lewis

The question whether we are loving God or the earthly Beloved "more" is not, so far as concerns our Christian duty, a question about the comparative intensity of two feelings. The real question is, which (when the alternative comes) do you serve, or choose, or put first? To which claim does your will, in the last resort, yield?

To Amuse At The Expense Of Wasted Time

Would these be betting odds,
That an asking of someone...
Who has done something in their life,
For more than 'sixty years'.
And approached to be questioned,
What they have been doing...
Since they were last seen ten years ago?

And that question has been asked,
By that same person rerpeatedly.
And the response is known.

What would be the likely odds,
That the person asked the question...
Would 'not' be doing,
What has become an obvious love...
For what that person does.

Should the one asking that same question,
Take a gamble and ask another question...
That would initiate a conversation,
Expressing a real interest?
And not just say the same thing to re-tread.

I maybe wrong about this,
But...
Leaving the person feeling a sense of being appreciated,
Would probably reveal a human being existing.
Instead of a novelty to amuse at the expense of wasted time.

Morning Thoughts

a true education
reveals the sameness
in the human condition.
a free society
allows the individual
to be individual.
a real community
is as responsible
for the least as for
the most...
the concept of freedom
becomes a reality
when based in mutual respect.
equality demands
equal effort!

how hard is this
for us to understand?
