An audience is so important. I would never have had the guts to dub in that big a laugh.

My brother was a great audience, and if he liked the picture, he would laugh and laugh and laugh, and he would want to keep the picture. Making people laugh with an image I had created... what power that was!

The appreciative smile, the chuckle, the soundless mirth, so important to the success of comedy, cannot be understood unless one sits among the audience and feels the warmth created by the quality of laughter that the audience takes home with it.

The Hunt within
I,
Smile, to my audience
Bow before my pain.
Sing the song of loneliness
mask it with a laugh in vain.
If only you could see; this pain does not have to be.
The hands I feel grasp my chest,
The piercing screams inside,
I know that I'm just prey walking in the hunters grasp, asking for the pain.
But although I feel my strain I know it is not in vain,
So I,
Smile, to my audience
Bow before my pain.
Sing the song of loneliness
Mask it with a laugh in vain.
I feel myself slipping, evil greed poisoning the good; maybe I'm just blind.
I'm the hunter in the dark
The lurk of a selfish need,
I cannot bear to hurt someone else, I can only hurt me.
So I,
Smile, to my audience
Bow before my pain.
Sing the song of loneliness
Mask it with a laugh in vain.
Just the want to feel loved, is making me a monster.
I'm the scratches in my heart
I slowly go insane.
I have no way to walk away; my howl is in a strain,
But I,
Smile, to my audience
Bow before my pain.
Sing the song of loneliness
Mask it with a laugh in vain.
Hope you will see through this mask,
And save what's left of the heart I stained.

The beauty of the mother
I may have guts to defy my mother.
I’ve guts to ignore and neglect her
But no guts could I muster to insult her.
That is the beauty of the mother.

Doomed City
Of this doomed city is my shop of heavy faces,
What matters is ice and snow and cold;
For the following day created a pale service,
As the claims were, over the city streets.
I called it Neverness, the importance of the flesh,
And I nodded for I slipped below the surface;
The claims weren’t obsolete but they were sad,
Like the guts of the place, the guts of the taste.
That thought was somehow important,
To immerse yourself in the dolls of thirst;
Grasping at gifts and golf and fog,
In order to speak to the onlookers.

I think it's because it's so different and it takes risks. Plus, it's really smart humor. It gives the audience credit in terms of not needing to tell them when to laugh. I love that about the show. There's no laugh track.

Be Audience Rare
do not write
to fickle audience
be audience rare
write what
themes
flow choose
most
rarely read
rhymes
no time to waste
on audience present
will eternity wait?
do not write
to audience
be audience rare

The screen is down on our show
All rivers end in the sea sand
All things must come to their final end.
The sound the drama; the sigh and the pray
The audience hopes at the end of a play
The screen is down on our show
The girl with the villain will go
The last laugh, the last sigh on our stage
will echo in the audience ears as long as an age

I Am The Audience
I am the audience
Theres no doubt, no consequence
I could make the morning papers
If I use my capers
Lets be the audience
I might lose my patience
Polite applause excepted
To the ones selected, as the audience...
Oh I ... am the audience
No doubt, no consequence
Cause Im the audience
Lets be the audience
I might lose my patience
Polite applause excepted
To the ones selected
I am the audience
Breakdown the pretence
No longer be silent
Lets turn to violence
I am the audience

Fundamental of Liar Chapter XXII: Laugh
there's laugh, forced laugh
laugh, gentle rejection without word
laugh, looking sympathy with laugh
laugh but actually doesn't laugh
hiding anger, hiding pain
cheerful laugh but alone inside
why you try hard to impress people?
tired and wounded more
laughing your foolish joke
and crying life in the dark room
laugh for yourself
laugh with your heart
and you'll never regret to try an honest laugh

When I'm shooting, really the audience I'm thinking the hardest about is that first test screening audience who I want to like the film and that first opening weekend audience.

We do play to our audience. It's very important. You can't create music in a vacuum.

I try to do as many stunts as they'll let me do. I think it's important for an audience to feel that the actor's really doing it.

I love a good laugh as well, I think that's so important in life, which is probably why I've dabbled in comedy writing as well as horror. I think if you can make someone laugh or smile it's the most special thing in the world.
The Society Knows It
Affluence is the audience
For art and music.
Perversion is the audience
For dance and romance.
Monogamy is the audience
For porn and blue films.
The society is aware of it
And condone it for a purpose.

He desires her but no guts to get her.
She lures him but no guts to admit him.
Love blossoms and withers without seed setting.
