Nothing Even Matters

Now the skies could fall
Not even if my boss should call
The world it seems so very small
'Cause nothing even matters at all

Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters at all
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters at all

See I don't need no alcohol
Your love makes me feel ten feet tall
Without it I'd go through withdrawal
'Cause nothing even matters at all

Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters at all
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters at all

These buildings could drift out to sea
Some natural catastrophe
Still there's no place I'd rather be
'Cause nothing even matters to me

Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters to me
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters to me

You're part of my identity
I sometimes have the tendency
To look at you religiously
'Cause nothing even matters to me

Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters to me
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters to me

Now you won't find me at no store
I have no time for manicures
With you it's never either or
'Cause nothing even matters no more

Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters no more
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters no more

Now my team could score
And make it to the Final Four
Just repossess my 4x4
'Cause nothing even matters no more

Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters no more
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters no more

Disaster In A Halo

Lately I've been thinking about what you said
Time is growing old and I'm getting colder
Hunger's just a pain that won't be fed
I'll be working for the ghost until I'm dead and done
Over and done, over
Disaster in a halo
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Somewhere there's a girl with thoughts of him
She makes wishes in a well then fears them caving in on her, around, on her
Disaster in a halo
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Cause in the well plans will come and plans will go undone
I know, I know
And you can't tell, I will come and I will do I know, I know
But why would I?
But why would I?
Disaster in a halo
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters
Nothing even matters

The end matters

The end matters in a running race.
The end matters in living race.
Happy and comfort living will be lost
If the end is crippled with sufferings.

Love Is All That Matters

(diane warren)
Sometimes we make each other cry
Sometimes were locked inside the prisons of our pride
Sometimes we break each others heart with the words we say
Let anger get in the way too many times
But always after all
Love is all that matters
After everything
One thing remains the same
One thing we cannot change
We all have one heart
And one heart needs another
Love, love is all that matters
Love is all that matters
It matters after all
Sometimes we search this world for gold
When all we really need is just a hand to hold
Sometimes we let the greatest treasure just slip away
With words we forget to say too many times
But always after all
Love is all that matters
After everything
One thing remains the same
One thing we cannot change
We, we all have one heart
And one heart needs another
Love, love is all that matters
Love is all that matters
It matters after all
After all that weve been through
It comes down to one simple truth
You need me, I need you
cause love is all that matters
Love is all that matters
Love is all that matters
It matters after all
Love is all that matters
Its the only thing that matters
It matters after all
Love is all that matters

Why There's Three Chairs

The first question
You're asked
When you arrive is

What do you declare
It's not like customs
About what you are carrying

The guards have other ways
For checking for that
Without asking

The guards want to know
For your protection
And theirs

What race do you declare
What are your gang affiliations
Do you need protective custody

Your race decides a lot for you
Decides who they'll house you with
Determines when

You'll be locked down
Allowed on the Yard
If you need an escort

It all depends
On your answer
To that first question

Yes they'll get around
To asking you if you want to harm yourself
Or others

What meds you're on
Do you hear voices
But above all race matters

For your protection
To minimize the potential
Of fights in a two man cell

The guards try
To match you up
The best they can

With someone you can tolerate
Locked in a five by nine-foot cell
Twenty-two hours a day

Outside the cells
By the guards' station
You can see the three chairs

Behind each chair
Bolted to the wall
Is a locked metal box

They all contain identical
Hair-cutting supplies
Seperate but equal

The first box is painted black
The second box red
The third white

The contents and the corresponding
Barber chairs are for Blacks
Hispanics/Others and Whites

And only for Black
Hispanic/Other and White
Barbers

Make no mistakes
The inmates enforce the rules
The unwritten rules

Black & Whites

So many choices in my life these days
So much confusion, so many shades of gray
That sometimes I don't know
My left from my right
But I've got these old black and whites
Well, I'm every color that you can paint
A father, a lover, a mother, a sinner and a saint
From Sunday morning, to Saturday night
I've got these old black and whites
Under the spotlight or all alone at midnight
I know I'm right where I belong
It always unwinds me, it finds me then reminds me
That life is as simple as a song
Lovers, they come and surely they go
They fly you so high, say hello, say goodbye
And they leave you low
But that's all right here in these songs that I write
Right here on these old black and whites
So roll over Beethoven
Cause ol' Phil could use some room
I may be out of time and may be out of tune
But you know how it feels to pour out your life
Right here on these old black and whites
Livin life in black and white

Too Much Monkey Business

Running to and fro,
Hard working at the mill,
Never failed at the mill,
There come a rotten bill.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Salesman talking to me,
Trying to run me up a creek,
Says you can buy it, go on try it,
You can pay me next week.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Blonde hair, good-looking,
Trying to get me hooked and married
Get a home, settle down by the book.
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Been to yokohama, baby,
Fighting in the war,
Army bunk, army chow,
Army clothes, army car.
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Same thing every day,
Getting up, going to school.
No need for me complaining,
My objection's overruled.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Working in the filling station,
Too many tasks,
Wipe the windows, check the oil,
Check the tires, dollar gas?
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
Don't want you by the race,
Get away and leave me.
[original has one more verse:
Pay-phone, something's wrong,
Dime gone, will mail.
Oughta sue the operator
For telling me a tale.
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved with you

All That Matters

I believe that this world was made for everyone
I can see all that wealth wont make a champion
All that matters in my world (life)
All that matters to me is you
Only you, only you
All that matters, only you
I dont care what people say, what people do
(let em talk)
I dont share that state of mind, that point of view
(let em sue)
(chorus)
From the top of my head to the tip of my toes
From the sole of my shoes through every stitch in my clothes
Each beat of my heart, each molecule
All that matters to me is you
All that matters to me is you
All that matters to me is you
Believe me its true
(youre all that matters)
Now I wish youd believe it too
Only you, only you

Kept Number One

What makes no sense to you now...
Has never made sense ever!
It's just that the expense of your escapes,
Have been diminished.
Like the realization of your question...
Does race matter?

In a place where cowboys and indians,
Has laced the bottom of Christmas trees
With packaged toy guns.
Gift wrapped to delight the eyes,
To have little boys and girls...
Chasing each other to run...
With visions to win something won,
From each other for fun?

And has made race the number one issue,
Whether at work or entertaining minds...
To this very day?

Does race matter?
It may now make no sense to you!
However...
From the point of view of those,
Sold on greatness...
And how that greatness has been achieved?
You better believe...
Race matters to them,
Who wish to keep that dream alive...
And thirsting within every soul that thrives.

To do it by using race and weapons...
And the fear of losing 'interests' threatened,
By those enemies created...
Wishing to put a limitation to these dreams!
Of course race matters!
That's why the momentum of hate,
Has been kept number one in the marketplace!
So it seems.

Does race matter?
Aren't people living in scattered divisions?
Reminding themselves of ethnic and religious,
Superiorities?
And 'what' deity is 'supreme to all of these?
Where do you think all of this started?
In the land that professes equal opportunities!
And all for one and one for all!
But not for everyone!
Unless you're lucky enough to play...
Professional basketball!
Or football.
Or baseball!
And carry those kinds of 'balls'!
To entertain and please,
For those kinds of escaping games.
To bring such tensions to ease.
For purposes to boast...
Of championships and hoist trophies!

And that's why race matters!
Even though that concept...
Has left a mess unaddressed.
And treasured foundations undone,
To distress!

Does race matter?
Isn't that on the lips...
Of those in mental fits?
Check your history!
When did it not exist?
OR statistics kept and strategies!

Prejudiced? Who? Me? ? .....[Personal; Human Nature; Racial Prejudice]

I'm a white guy, aged 64, raised in a small town way up north.
Do some thoughts I have about blacks signal prejudice coming forth?
First I'd say NO, but then again I'd say YES.
But such thoughts, by both whites and blacks, are normal I would guess.

What thoughts am I now referring to you will probably ask.
To answer that sensible question will put my mind to task.
My interactions with blacks, I think, no prejudice does reveal.
And the rare times I have 'prejudice' thoughts, I think they're no big deal.

Do you wish to know of what my 'pre-judged' thoughts consist?
I'd almost rather not tell you. But, if you insist.
I sometimes think 'nigger'; when and where I grew up that was a 'bad' name.
I also think of them as different though people are the 'same'.

And here is where I say 'I don't like generalization'.
By 'same' I mean neither all blacks nor all whites are 'the same' in this nation.
So whites and blacks can both be smart or stupid, mean or kind;
within each 'race' criminals and 'saints' you'll find.

I wasn't raised to either love or hate blacks. My parents seemed not to judge.
And I've changed my mind again; I'm NOT prejudiced. From that opinion I shall not budge!

Then why you ask do I sometimes think 'nigger' when I think of a black?
I think it's due to both a primeval urge to break society's rules, and to thought-control I lack.
Luckily I don't act out my 'bad' thoughts. I might be in jail now if I had.
When in grade school, a boy said I called him 'nigger'. The accusation made me sad.

Race Of Veterans

RACE of veterans! Race of victors!
Race of the soil, ready for conflict! race of the conquering march!
(No more credulity's race, abiding-temper'd race;)
Race henceforth owning no law but the law of itself;
Race of passion and the storm.

It Matters To Me

Baby tell me where'd you ever learn
To fight without sayin' a word
Then waltz back into my life
Like it's all gonna be alright
Don't you know how much it hurts

When we don't talk
When we don't touch
When it doesn't feel like we're even in love
It matters to me
When I don't know what to say
Don't know what to do
Don't know if it really even matters to you
How can I make you see
It matters to me

Maybe I still don't understand
The distance between a woman and a man
So tell me how far it is
And how you can love like this
'Cause I'm not sure I can

When we don't talk
When we don't touch
When it doesn't feel like we're even in love
It matters to me
When I don't know what to say
Don't know what to do
Don't know if it really even matters to you
How can I make you see
It matters to me

I am a white man, I believe. Will anybody undertake to teach me what are the antipathies and loathings of white men? What mean whites may or may not like is of small importance. But the generous soul of my
race, which has led the van in the great march of liberty and civilization, and whose lofty path is marked by the broken chains of every form of slavery, has an instinctive hatred of injustice, of exclusive privilege, of arrogance, ignorance, and baseness, and an instinctive love of honor, magnanimity and justice. The white soul of my race naturally loves the man, of whatever race or color, who bravely fights and gloriously dies for equal rights, and instinctively loathes every man who, saved by the blood of such heroes, deems himself made of choicer clay.
