I think that an artist is a bit like a computer. He receives information from the world around him and from his past and from his own experiences. And it all goes into the brain.

The computer and its information cannot answer any of the fundamental questions we need to address to make our lives more meaningful and humane. The computer cannot provide an organizing moral framework. It cannot tell us what questions are worth asking. It cannot provide a means of understanding why we are here or why we fight each other or why decency eludes us so often, especially when we need it the most. The computer is... a magnificent toy that distracts us from facing what we most need to confront — spiritual emptiness, knowledge of ourselves, usable conceptions of the past and future.

The brain's calculations do not require our conscious effort, only our attention and our openness to let the information through. Although the brain absorbs universes of information, little is admitted into normal consciousness.

Too Much Information
Too much information running through my brain
Too much information driving me insane
Ive seen the whole world six times over
Sea of japan to the cliffs of dover
Oh
Overkill

Over everybody

Computer Age
Cars and trucks
Fly by me on the corner
But Im all right
Standin proud before the signal
When I see the light
I know Im more than just a number.
And I stand before you
Or else we just dont see the other
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
Bikes and vans
Fly by me on the desert
But Im all right
Standing out here in the hot sun
When I see the light
I feel like more than just a number
And I stand before you
Or else we just dont see the other
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
Precious metal lines
Molded into highways
Running through me
So microscopically
Days and nights
Weeks and months and seasons
Rolling through me
So chronologically.
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
I need you
To let me know that theres a heartbeat
Let it pound and pound
And Ill be flying like a free bird
And you need me
Like ugly needs a mirror
And day by day
This horizons getting clearer
Computer age computer age
Computer age.

Please Keep Repeating
Do you find,
That your mind,
Doesn't hold,
Information told.
What's to do,
Makes one blue,
Mind's depleting,
Please keep repeating.
Can't slot things in,
To 'My Computer Bin',
In the memory section,
Can't make a connection.
Need robotic brain,
Should I retrain? ,
Before it's too late.
Say that again, Mate?

There cannot be any better cross-section of America and I think the soldiers represent the best we have. Today's soldiers are brighter and smarter, perhaps in a different way, than past generations because they've been brought up in the computer and information age.

Well, there's a question as to what sort of information is important in the world, what sort of information can achieve reform. And there's a lot of information. So information that organizations are spending economic effort into concealing, that's a really good signal that when the information gets out, there's a hope of it doing some good.

We're all so mauled by information, but it's recycled information. We need to shut it out. So, you've got to get bizarre. This is an artist's purpose - to break away from the recycled. Performance art can do that.

Intriguing
What is it about you
I find so intriguing?
Your pretty blue eyes
Your sarcastic exterior
Yet there's more underneath
Experiences that made you
Hardships that faced you
Decorated with needles and blood
A twisted path of loneliness
But somehow you still manage to smile
You hate those using shearing sharpness
Yet you used to use it
Addiction has claimed you
But managed to escape you
A past filled with scars
Your a thing I could study
Think alike
But always striking back
With distorted words and winks
You help and you hinder
Words are used to tantalize and tempt
A gaze that hides more than it shares
Is it really a way to get attention
Or something deep in recession
Syringes filled with sugar-sweet poison
You intrude upon closed information
Expecting an invitation
Eventually finding a way in
Pencils depict a tortured artist
Music depicts the same
What is it about you
I find so intriguing?

We Can’t Go Back
I wonder whatever became of such and such
It’s too many years since we’ve all been in touch
In our youthful naivety we were innocently un-clever
Assuming our ‘then’ would be our ‘now’ and ‘then’ forever
Our roads of life we traveled turned in all directions
Those traveled stops are now has-been recollections
We sometime recall fondly much of the past
The unfortunate facts are, ‘ the past just doesn’t last’
Yesterdays are history stored in our memory bins
Recalling good and bad times, all through thick and thins
A memory is engraved in our brain like a computer data track
‘But the past just doesn’t last’ and ‘We can’t go back’

My Computer
Welcome, uve got mail {aol sample}
(computer) {sample repeats in bg}
It was sunday night, instead of doing what I usually do i..
Chorus:
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Somebody 2 talk 2, funny and bright
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Make believe its a better world, a better life
Nothing on tv I aint seen before
Another murder on the news, I cant take no more
Evil incorporated, blowing up bombs and thangs
I have a child, huh, I have a lot 2 explain
I could write a letter, but who would I send it 2?
It was sunday night, instead of doing what I usually do i..
Chorus
I called an old friend of mine just the other day
No congratulations, no respect paid
All she did was wonder if the rumors were true
I said - no, I aint dead yet, but uh.. what about u?
I can count my friends with a peace sign: 1, 2
It was sunday night, instead of doing what I usually do i..
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Somebody 2 talk 2, funny and bright (oh)
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Make believe its a better world, a better life (a better life)
I got no mail, my computer
I told them I dont wanna see a doctor unless hes lonely 2
Every sunday night, instead of doing what I usually do i..
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Somebody 2 talk 2, funny and bright
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Make believe its a better world (make believe its a better world)
A better life {x52}
Goodbye {aol sample}

The Assassin, the Artist, and the Dog
Walking across this dangerous land
In this magical but corrupted world
The assassin, the artist, and the dog travel
This world is unbalanced
It surely is a world in ruin
The assassin, the artist, and the dog travel
And they know
That to survive
They must fight
Whether they like it or not
The assassin has his dangerous swords
and sharpened throwing tools
The artist has her enchanted paintbrushes
and magical paints
The dog has his bark and bite
And that's good enough for him
Everything else is perfect for the rest of them
During the day
During the night
As they travel along
It's a world on the brink of madness
But the assassin, the artist, and the dog know
of that
They know of the choices and chances they'll
have to make and take
It's tough out there to survive
But they know what it will take
They know what the world is like
They know how the world is

My Computer
"what?" they say, "you got a
computer?"
it's like I have sold out to
the enemy.
I had no idea so many
people were prejudiced
against
computers.
even two editors have
written me letters about
the computer.
one disparaged the
computer in a mild and
superior way.
the other seemed
genuinely
pissed.
I am aware that a
computer can't create
a poem.
but neither can a
typewriter.
yet, still, once or
twice a week
I hear:
"what?
you have a
computer?
you?"
yes, I do
and I sit up here
almost every
night,
sometimes with
beer or
wine,
sometimes
without
and I work the
computer.
the damn thing
even corrects
my spelling.
and the poems
come flying
out,
better than
ever.
I have no
idea what causes
all this
computer
prejudice.
me?
I want to go
the next step
beyond the
computer.
I'm sure it's
there.
and when I get
it,
they'll say,
"hey, you hear,
Chinaski got a
space-biter!"
"what? "
"yes, it's true!"
"I can't believe
it!"
and I'll also have
some beer or
some wine
or maybe nothing
at all
and I'll be
85 years old
driving it home
to
you and me
and to the little girl
who lost her
sheep.
or her
computer.

Face My Nemesis
Amid the office noise I am learning @
is called ‘arobase' - a quarter to three is
trois heures moins le quart, three minus a
quarter - enough to shut my brain down,
numbers have a deadly impact on me
Stop all synapses firing at once, I turn
into a dunce, stare vacantly at pages
of information I can't understand, why
should life be thus, as a mathematical
genius I could have been rich
In a universe that can be described in a
world famous mathematical equation
where E is energy, m mass, c the
speed of light, whatever it means -
everything is relative
And I must face my nemesis, numbers
expressed in French in a minefield of
arobases while telling time, I'm sinking
into the depths of my black hole brain,
information goes in - but never
Comes out again…

With Methods To Replace Old Concepts
As a performing artist,
One takes artistic risks.
That's the nature of the field.
And creativity can not be restricted.
Those who believe,
There should be censorship...
Only limit their own experiences,
Not those who are chosen and born to do this.
If nature was confined,
To a definition in one's mind.
There would be no growth at all.
And the Earth would not be of God's design.
Constantly evolving in new directions to find...
The unknown to discover fresh expressions,
With methods to replace old concepts.
As a performing artist,
One takes artistic risks.
That's the nature of the field.
And creativity can not be restricted.
Those who believe,
There should be censorship...
Only limit their own experiences,
Not those who are chosen and born to do this.

Shamso
You are the little computer chip in my brain and,
I will love you for what you are to me;
But try to be brave enough to have my babies!
For Shamso is very intelligent enough and,
I want you to stimulate me before the foreplay.
Come and touch my heart and show me the way,
For your love is like the little computer chip;
And many love to see you around me.
