Self-sacrifice which denies common sense is not a virtue. It's a spiritual dissipation.

Mind Fed Rituals
When determined people,
Pray to God to have their way...
And God sends to them messengers,
To scream from bullhorns...
This is not going to happen.
Leave people like this.
Do not attempt to make bargains...
With the use of common sense.
Leave people like this.
These people only value,
The physical aspects of life.
People like this will make their mission,
To enlist others to value their point of view.
Even to select and depict those unknowing,
They have been chosen as culprits...
By someone who did not like,
How they were told...
To remove their rose colored glasses!
Leave people like this.
Do not attempt to make bargains...
With the use of common sense.
Leave people like this.
These people only value,
The physical aspects of life.
And the 'spiritual' side of it...
Is a routine of mind fed rituals,
Outdated by a lack indepth perception.
Leave people like this.
Do not attempt to make bargains...
With the use of common sense.
A common sense for many,
That has been diluted.

The determined scholar and the man of virtue will not seek to live at the expense of injuring their virtue. They will even sacrifice their lives to preserve their virtue complete.

Happiness Over Opulence
Truth instills virtue.
Love imparts sacrifice.
Compassion delivers service.
Not truth means no virtue.
No love means no sacrifice.
No compassion means no service.
Virtue instills trust.
Sacrifice provides care.
Service ensures safety.
No virtue means no trust.
No sacrifice means no care.
No service means no safety.
No trust, no care and no safety,
The society is in anarchy.
The cure is not prosperity.
Children must score top in these subjects,
And not in science and mathematics.
Happiness must score over opulence.

Next Instalment PLEASE 5.9.2009
There are three kinds of love:
1 Ideal, ROMANTIC love ‘pure and chaste from afar’
the unreachable star; 2 RATIONAL love, sacrifice for
common-sense relationships, and 3 SPIRITUAL
love for all of life as sacred
ROMANTIC love - unattainable; a guiding lodestar, a
Quixotic ideal I won’t let go, my favourite authors
have my undying devotion, they keep the flame
of beauty and dreams alive
Many Romantic love poems are selfish and narcissistic
with emotions effervescent, only a special few
delineate soul-mates’ eternal love,
I adore these, but it is
RATIONAL, common-sense love which makes the
world go round – sharing religion, world-view and
ethical conviction; sacrificing self to group,
for our kids whom we love to bits
Boring compared to the fire and delight of romance;
and the unconditional SPIRITUAL love of esoteric
texts is out of reach; - we might combine some
romance with rational love
Though experience shows life does not allow romance
for long, forcing a choice between short-lived affairs
and long-term, boring relationships;
alternatives so unsatisfactory - thus
Love poetry is a secret activity, requiring one reply
only, Thank you, next instalment please - to all
authors who delight me - ‘THANK YOU, next
instalment please - PLEASE.’

Pride is a spiritual Cancer: It eats up the very possibility of love, or contentment, or even common sense.

The sacrifice which causes sorrow to the doer of the sacrifice is no sacrifice. Real sacrifice lightens the mind of the doer and gives him a sense of peace and joy. The Buddha gave up the pleasures of life because they had become painful to him.

An Element Of Fun 7.22.2008
A dream – all things possible in love –
and it must be so, as spiritual guru
and romantic poet both assert, should
we believe and desert the cold logic of
rational thought and the grey sobriety
of intellectualism?
Why not indeed, all things spiritual seem so
much more colourful and interesting than
faded common sense and dreary duty;
I for one will believe in love and fairies
because smiling while I’m working is
the spoonful of sugar that fills
Concentrating on the job-at-hand with
an element of fun!

To be simple is a pedestrian virtue, but to persevere in simplicity is a virtue of spiritual giants.

Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing.

For the spiritual sense of the Word treats everywhere of the spiritual world, that is, of the state of the church in the heavens, as well as in the earth; hence the Word is spiritual and Divine.

Persistent Theories
Ruining my life...
Is not a show of your sacrifice.
Nothing you have done has eased my existence.
Your persistent theories of me being useless...
Has highlighted the absence of your common sense.
And a willingness to televise every aspect of your ignorance.
Ruining my life...
Is not a show of your sacrifice.
What you have displayed is a charaded intelligence.
Based upon destruction and a respect that is absent.
And all of your masquerades have concentrated...
On proving an ability to fake goodwill.

We are finite creatures. Our lives are small and can only scientifically consider a small part of reality. What's common for us is just a sliver of what's available. We can only see so much of the electromagnetic spectrum. We can only delve so deep into extensions of space. Common sense applies to that which we can access. But common sense is just that. Common. If total sense is what we want, we should be prepared to accept that we shouldn't call infinity weird or strange. The results we've arrived at by accepting it are valid, true within the system we use to understand, measure, predict and order the universe. Perhaps the system still needs perfecting, but at the end of day, history continues to show us that the universe isn't strange. We are.

Common sense invents and constructs no less than its own field than science does in its domain. It is, however, in the nature of common sense not to be aware of this situation.
