There are people who appear in the magazines and I don't know who they are. I've never seen anything they've done and their careers are over already. They're famous for maybe 10 minutes. Real careers, I think, take a long time to unfold.

Do more than is required. What is the distance between someone who achieves their goals consistently and those who spend their lives and careers merely following? The extra mile.

Stepping up to Life
Do you ever stop and think about
The chapters of folks’ lives?
They started from absolutely nothing
Took on a husband or wife
Bought a house and then planned
A family, one kid at a time
Careers went into the mix
It’s all so interesting, I find
Bought a car and chose a pet
Tried hard to make it all work
Responsibilities piling up
Mysteries would constantly lurk
Chapter after chapter of their lives
Ticked by till retirement came
Some responsibilities gone
No, life was never the same
Now spring is here once again
Sure, there are new kinds of strife
But folks will do as they always have
They are stepping up to life!

Unless you are really grounded and have a true sense of reality, you can get lost in that and a lot of people do and that's why you see so many people with successful careers but with destructive lives.

Last Farewell
If We Stand Here Together
We May Say Our Last Farewell
To The Lives Of Illusion
And the Time We Spent in Hell
Will We Arise In Our Time
At The Dawn Of Another Meaning
And A Great Hossanah
The Great Hossanah
The Great Hossanah
The Great Hossanah

Who Is Truly Great?
Great is one who humbles oneself;
Great is one who accomplishes without expectations;
Great is one who labors for others’ welfare;
Great is one who struggles for a noble cause;
Great is one who gives his life for his Maker’s sake;
Great is one who sacrifices his precious life for truth’s sake;
Great is one who takes the road least taken;
Great is one who climbs life’s steep hills;
Great is one who treads dangerous paths for mankind’s progress;
Great is one who risks his life unduly to save others’ lives;
Great is one who although born or made handicapped does extra-ordinary feats;
Great is one who scales heights of achievements rarely done by others;
Great is one who toils in sleep-hours too for mankind’s upliftment;
Great is one who racks his brain to find a cure for a crippling disease;
Great is one who shuns selfishness for the cause of his poorer brethren;
Great is one who dies so that others can live in peace;
Great is one who lives not for oneself but others;
Great is one who loves and forgives his worst foe;
Great is one who leads life in accordance with the Word of God!

Where do I fit into it all?
I have seen
brave men passing me.
Men who were composed
when death came agonising by
and stuck to the training
taught before
I have seen men believing
that victory belongs
to those that really dare
and snatching immortality
from the claws of death
against an outnumbering foe.
Still the meaning of it all
isn’t clear to me
and what battles and wars won
really bought?
I have seen good men
giving up their lives here
and sick of the impact of crime,
loosing hope for a future,
going away to stay
in another country.
I have seen wild men
making a life
out of whatever
destiny bestowed on them
and living it up
before the years
of old age could come.
I have seen grave men
calculating the cost
of investing in a desperate society
and deciding that all is lost
and withdrawing their investments
to make other opportunities
their goal.
I have seen great men
building up their lives
and starting new careers
from the ruins
of bankruptcy and unemployment
and against unfair laws
and black economic empowerment,
prospering from the lessons learnt
from life.
The question remains with me:
where do I fit
into it all?
