Small businesses are seeing huge rate increases every year, and more and more of them are saying they just can't afford to provide coverage. That's part of the reason more than 45 million Americans are now uninsured.

Republicans have offered dozens of comprehensive healthcare plans many of which achieve comprehensive healthcare reform without breaking what's working in healthcare. We want to fix what's broken in healthcare.
The majority of Americans receive health insurance coverage through their employers, but with rising health care costs, many small businesses can no longer afford to provide coverage for their employees.

Why are Koch Industries and the Chamber Getting Entitlements?
“Yesterday it was in the news that Koch Industries, who spent millions of dollars opposing health care reform, applied for federal health care dollars to bolster its early retiree program. Today Health Watch lists more than a dozen members of the board of directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce who have also applied for these hated federal funds including Pfizer, PepsiCo, New York Life Insurance Company, Eastman Kodak, IBM, Rolls-Royce North America. This past year the U.S. Chamber of Commerce rolled out $3 million a week to battle President Obama's major agenda items. Now we find out that the chamber will spend some $75 million trying to unseat Democrats who voted for the health care law all the while its board members profit from it. In other healthcare news, Forbes magazine this week released its first-ever survey of America's most profitable hospitals, reporting that 24 hospitals with more than 200 beds make 25 cents or more for every dollar of patient revenue they take in. In other words, if you get sick and it costs a million dollars to get you well - not uncommon in today's world, just the corporate hospital's CEO and stockholders will have skimmed off a quarter million bucks. And that doesn't begin to add in the other hundreds of thousands skimmed off by the health insurance banksters, and inflated drug company profits. No wonder Americans pay about twice as much as any other country in the world for healthcare, and executives in that industry are the richest in America.”

What we're discussing privately and publicly, is a budget which is a blueprint for the future which creates jobs, which educates our children, which provides healthcare for all Americans, which takes our deficit down, which gives a tax cut for 95% of the American people.

Happy Fourth of July America!
Wanna' know how many lil' kids
Go to bed hungry in the U.SA
Each night?
If I said "over a million"
Would you sleep any
less sound tonight?
And how many of you
Would agree with me
That being a kid can be rough?
Well…over six million American kids
Get either very little food…each day
Or simply not enough.
Feelin' uncomfortable yet? I hope so! ! !
Think about it, when you're chowin' down
This bountiful 4th of July
Foreign aid paid in one year to 150 countries
Including some enemies, is 58 billion, more or less
All paid by you and I
Our roads and bridges need 2.2 trillion dollars
To be repaired and fixed
And brought up to a safe state
And all the while America crumbles
We've spent more than a trillion (not including Libya)
If futile wars in Afghanistan and Iraq… to date
And one other lil' statistic That I carped about before
on the 4th of July a couple years ago
In a little noticed, seemingly inconsequential poem
Has grown to 6440 American boys killed in action
I hate this statistic! ! It's cruel and sadistic! !
And By God… they should have been kept home! ! !
These are numbers and statistics
Too great for comprehension… by
Ordinary people like you and I
But I hope there's someone out there
That I've made a little bit more aware
And… to my complacent, naïve fellow Americans
A bountiful, happy Fourth of July
(To our leaders)
