I think all the bad blood started when Geffen released a greatest hits package of my solo stuff.

I am the hawk and theres blood on my feathers
But time is still turning they soon will be dry
And all of those who see me, all who believe in me
Share in the freedom I feel when I fly
Come dance with the west wind and touch on the mountain tops
Sail oer the canyons and up to the stars

The Full Package
I need for you to hear me!
I know, I know, I know I must admit, that we started out with an agreement that were going to have a sexual relationship without attachments. And I thought I could handle just being friends with benefits! !
You wouldn't believe going in this I just wanted my needs to be mat just like you! ! ! ! and I didn't have a clue that I started developing feelings for a person whom I had a verbally agreed that it just going to be about sex and that's it! and I look at this and say WOW WTF is going on...... With me
And I wrote this because I wanted you to see me differently and not just that small part of me sexually but a full package. The full package

I'm The Coolest
You know I'm the coolest
That's ever come around
You'll notice things get hotter
Whenever I'm in town
I mean I gotta be the coolest
Who else could it be?
Everybody knows who's really cool
Me
Let's face it, I'm the greatest
I'm Mr. Number One
My hometown built a statue
To their favorite son
I mean I gotta be the greatest
I'm just a ball of fun
I mean I'm definitely the greatest
I'm also the coolest
You can't leave a package like me
Sitting on no shelf
Let me tell you I'm so cool sonny
I'm gonna save a little for myself
Baby, come over here a minute
Who is the coolest?
I mean how do I look?
Yeah.
You can't leave a package like me
Sitting on no shelf
Let me tell you I'm so cool sonny
I'm gonna save a little for myself
You know the day I was born
There were these four dudes up on a hill
They said they saw this star
Hanging out over town
And the whole world seemed to stand still
It made the Sunday papers
I guess it proves for sure
I am the coolest
I am the greatest
I am the baddest
I am the smoothest
I'm just the best
Sand dancer come on
Ah yeah
Right

So you do shorter versions of the hits, or you take out a long guitar solo or things like that to make time for the hits and new music as well. But I don't think any of us ever get to do as much new music as we would like to.

For sure, you don't believe the good stuff. I mean, the good stuff is just insane - wacky. If you don't take it too much to heart, it does help when the negative stuff hits. And you know the negative stuff is coming. It's got to! What comes up must come down.

Truth is, you make albums, and some of those songs are hits, and some of the greatest hits albums have songs that weren't hits. You have a career, the reason why we're still around 10 years is that we do have successful songs.

Going Solo
She left a message after the tone,
I hear it over and over on the answer phone.
No one can find her, address unknown.
She just decided to go out and make it alone.
Solo, solo,
My little child is going solo.
Solo, solo,
My little child is going solo.
I feel like crying, Im in a rage.
I cant understand why she just ran away.
What made it happen, guess well never know.
She just decided to go out and make it solo.
Solo, solo, solo, solo, solo.
We work like dogs all of our lives,
Like millions of other husbands and wives.
Sent her through college, didnt care what we spent.
Think of how we feel,
She didnt say, she didnt ask, she just went.
Solo, solo,
My little child, youre going solo.
Its like a pattern, its like a crime,
We see it happen time after time.
You raise your children, you watch them grow,
Then one day its good-bye, theyve decided theyre going solo.
Solo, solo, solo, solo, solo.
The toys are forgotten, now it appears,
Youve let them down after all of these years.
Sacrificed all, now theres nothing to show,
Ungrateful youth, decided youre going solo.
Solo, solo,
My little child, youre going solo.
Solo, solo,
Ungrateful youth, youre going solo.
The obligations, all of the ties,
Have got to be broken so you can survive.
Just because they gave you life, they cant stop if you grow,
Now they cant hold you back cause youre going solo

Its cold here in the city
It always seems that way
And Ive been thinking about you almost everyday
Thinking about the good times
Thinking about the rain
Thinking about how bad it feels alone again
Im sorry for the way things are in china
Im sorry things aint what they used to be
But more than anything else
Im sorry for myself
cause youre not here with me
Our friends ask all about you
I say youre doing fine
And I expect to hear from you almost anytime
But they all know Im crying
I cant sleep at night
They all know Im dying down deep inside
Im sorry fro all the lies I told you
Im sorry for the things I didnt say
But more than anything else
Im sorry for myself
I cant believe you went away
Im sorry if I took some things for granted
Im sorry for the chains I put on you
But more than anything else
Im sorry for myself
For living without you

Commerciality
Fire sign, indicate luminous pornography
Heliograph and morse photography
Signal ad, signal ad, signal ad
Commerciality, commerciality, commerciality
Coherent, match and blazing cuneiform wide open
Sales pitch, high pitch, noise
Brakes too soft to burn, envisage this
Signal ad, signal ad, signal ad
Commerciality, commerciality, commerciality
Package, carton, package and carton, sell and package and carton
Sell and package and carton, sell and package and carton
Sell, package and sell, package
Just revitalize, revitalize, revitalize, whats this now?
Commerciality, commerciality, commerciality, commerciality
Sell and revitali-, vitalize and home pride
From tractors to tea-bags, from here to eternity, oh god, help me
Commerciality, commerciality, commerciality, commerciality, commerciality
Commerciality, commerciality, commerciality, commerciality, commerciality
Signal ad, signal ad, signal ad
Commerciality, commerciality, commerciality

Siamo Solo Noi
Siamo solo noi
rubano solamente
siamo solo noi
generazione di sconvolti
che non han pi santi n eroi
siamo solo noi
siamo solo noi
siamo solo noi...

Supply and Demand
To package anything,
To attract and sell...
Entertain and seduce.
Takes skill.
Takes knowing the audience.
And marketing to their lazy ambitions.
The kind that is talked about with wishes,
To fulfill!
This takes talent.
From concept until production released,
To package anything...
To attract and sell,
An appealing of it...
Has to be somewhat addicting.
And satisfying enough to keep it defended.
Because it is thought to be so good.
And the thought of not having it,
Craves one into a rage.
Needing a fix.
Some have fits if they don't get it,
Easy and quick!
And supply and demand,
Increases its worth.
Like any drug,
Cropped and harvested.
And supplied here on Earth,
To have it find its value.

Lections and country classics albums.
Here I am closing my eyes again
Trying so hard not to see
All the things that I see
Almost willing to lie again
I swear that it just isnt so
It just isnt me
We are never alone
Even though wed like to be
The I go and open my eyes again
Love in your eyes is the thing
That Id most like to see
Id be willing to die again
To know of a place and a time
Where it always could be
To be always with you
And you always with me
This is my autograph
Here is the songs I sing
Here is my cry and my laugh
Here is the love that I bring
To be always with you
And you always with me
Say a prayer and open your heart again
You are the love and the life
That we all need to see
Always willing to shine and then
Peace on this earth is the way
That it always can be
To be always with you
And you always with me
This is my autograph
Here is the songs I sing
Here is my cry and my laugh
Here is the love that I bring
To be always with you
And you always with me
