The only violence was when these so-called 'freedom fighters' terrorized the poor Africans in the villages... They were told what to do and who to support.

Freedom Freestyle

They took me from my homeland
Called that freedom
They told me what to do and how to do it
Called that Freedom
Put Chains on me
Called that pain and sorrow Freedom
They Beat me
Called that Freedom

Freedom Fighters

Today I heard what them people say
Dem want to live free greedily, with everyone to pay.
You play under the sun while others fight and dies away
but I say if you don't like it this way, then why stay? Go away

Shine Jah
Live free, Be free, Die free

While some prepare to die today
I say you fade away, appreciate life and liberate

We have the right - to live in peace
and you must fight - for what you keep
If what you keep - holds truth inside
Stand up, defend - lay down and die
We have the right to live in peace
You must fight for what you keep
If what you keep holds truth inside
Stand up, defend, or lay down and die

Extension 33

Living at the y, extension 33,
Nothing to care or to worry.
Once I was in love with a blind man,
But my auntie told me, dont do it, its not worth it.
Living at the y, 33 years,
No one to call or to write to.
Once I was in love with a married man,
But my instincts told me, dont tell him, itll kill you.
Im sad I didnt marry the blind man,
But whats a life with three blind children?
Im glad I never told the married man,
It saved my pride and freedom.
Living at the y, in 33 rooms,
Nowhere to visit or write to.
Once I was in love, it nearly killed me,
But now I have my pride and freedom.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom and pride.
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom,
Freedom, freedom, freedom.

We Are Told

We are told that we have got freedom yet not freedom to do as we like
There are places we are not allowed to walk in or where we cannot ride a push bike
Which means that our freedom is so called since we cannot even walk where we please
Ours is such a limited freedom we are not as free as a breeze.

Without a passport we cannot travel to another Country and that is for a limited time
And if we overstay our visa that is a deportable crime
By the Immigration Department of Government by a Government not blessed with a soul
There is a name for such a practice 'tis known as population control.

Young men in wars fought and died for freedom but was it for freedom they died?
When their Government leader told them they were fighting for freedom to the young and naive troops he lied
They fought for the glory of their leader and risked their lives on a foreign shore
They were used as pawns in a deadly power game just that sad to say nothing more.

We are told that we have got freedom though we have to be careful with the words we say
And if our speech on it has got restrictions then what is freedom anyway?
Young men fought and even died for freedom at least that's what we are made to believe
By so called patriotic politicians people who are known to deceive.

Let Us Forget Our Villages...

Villages, my friend, are no more those heavens.
You used to tell about villages living, I remember.
Villages, my friend, are no more those marvels.
You used to boast about the ones quite variant, I recall.

Villages have begun to grow its heights,
Its vast expanses shrinking to a few yards.
Villages have sent away their caring mothers to the towns,
Villages have driven away their milky animals to the farm houses.

That`s why my friend, I can`t take you to my village
And when you offer to do so, I am not inclined.
Let us hide in the fortress of this city`s hard walls known to us and
Forget our villages where our memories wander as ghosts.

Give Into Hate

Violence surrounds me
Violence in society
Violence in our eyes
Violence in their cries
Violence it's our fate?
Violence, it's too late?
Violence, no escape?
Violence, give into hate?
Is it human nature to act like animals?
We're all guilty, we're all criminals
Selfish species headed for a self destruction
Violent product of moral corruption
Violence for love
Violence because of hate
Violence, revolution
Violence of the state
Violence, you will find
Violence, it grips your mind
Violence, it's too late?
Violence, give into hate

A freedom is not in a day

Freedom is not attained in single day
It has proved difficult and in tortuous way
How many precious lives are lost in process?
Do we have any words for criticism to face?

Whoever has laid down life may not go in waste
It requires sacrifice and untiring efforts to stand test
We may be able to core it out right or gain the freedom
If the path so chose is non-violence then it is really wisdom

No wars have been won with continued hostility and bloodshed
The revolution may be written as history of shame with no watershed
There may be holocaust and human misery to be swallowed later
The result may have been there but many may come to be known as traitor

Freedom fighters are termed as dacoits or law breakers
They will make enough propaganda for ready takers
It may help them for little times to come and regroup
This can be called as popular uprising and not as military coup

The mighty power has witness sudden downfall
They have bow under tremendous pressure and international call
They have fear of losing the out side support
No out side help can come through the busy ports

Freedom can be won through non-violence means too
It may minimize human loss and this is equally true
We have witnessed many prolonged and bloody revolutions
It has not helped to prove misery but only lead to power devolution

What even if freedom is gained in total sense?
Has that got any relevance in its presence?
Have we attained whatever was desired or expected from?
The truth is bitter but to be explained to whom?

Who will never accept our own theory of deception?
How we remained under subjugation from inception?
Why did we not rise in revolt and tried for solution?
Did we try for it honestly and went for its dissolution?

Will story be rewritten when brought facts in open?
If so when it will find the light of the day and reopen?
Who will shed the light and appreciate the sacrifice?
The fact will be forgotten when people occupy the office

It is hard won struggle and must be preserved at all cost
The power should be shared and utilized for the most
Who knows it may prove acid test for days to come?
Why not celebrate it with fun fare and welcome?

It is unforgettable that freedom has cost us so much
We can’t afford to loose it again in a manner as such
Who will pardon us if we fail to cherish and protect
It has to be defended at all costs in fact

so freedom fighters its time to unite,

Seek freedom

What does the sun of man want
What does mankind want
Under the sun
Is it to eat all the food
In the world and have fun
So that nobody gets nothing to feed
Or destroy the righteous and his seed
May be gather more riches
And be superior
So that others become
Poor and inferior
Or gather all the women
In the world by your side
Is this the ultimate pride
What fore does mankind want
Apart from being free and happy
You need freedom to live your destiny
So do i need freedom
Everybody needs freedom
The rich man needs freedom
So do the poor man also need freedom
The king needs freedom
So do his subjects needs freedom
The master needs freedom
So do the servant needs freedom
Freedom belongs to the old man
As well is the young man
the human society without freedom
Is an evildom
Freedom is love for one another
Freedom is the ultimate power

Tenderness Is A Privilege Of Few

Name the violence and her sons
A sort of callousness enshrouds us
Harsh words friendly support bitter behaviours
And tenderness is a privilege of few

I can't let you die, I can't, I am sorry
The only thing I may do for you is to allow me not to exist anymore
What I was, the one you knew has to be choked off
Despite my awkward attempt to survive with you
I do recognise that I don't deserve your memory

Stunned by the revelation I wander in despair
Still and frozen my mind learns your thoughts by heart
Is that everything lost?
And then mist in my dreams, your gaze weird moved by compassion
Does it mean that you felt my pain?

Name the violence and her sons
A sort of callousness enshrouds us
Harsh words friendly support bitter behaviours
And tenderness is a privilege of few

I don't fear either the blame or the damnation
The world is mean enough with or without my version of events
I won't be going overboard for trying
I will always fiercely protect my low river
And I'm really pissed off at all these faces in mourning

Being so called reputable is not my priority anymore, if ever it was
People are often sidetracked by appearances
I want to be gentle and decent
I need to be authentically in love with Humanity
I need to care for its destiny, to pray for redemption

Name the violence and her sons
A sort of callousness enshrouds us
Harsh words friendly support bitter behaviours
And tenderness is a privilege of few

Freedom (In Answer To Willem Fransman (Junior)

The old man walks his long way to freedom,
or so says his book
and everywhere there is only hatred, resentment and tons of regret
there is a freedom that I am still searching for in my life

and in a house that is barred like a prison I have got to hide,
I have got to wait on armed reaction and not the police,
when freedom fighters wants to spend time in my life;
coming for their historically qualified enrichment

while the country about me falls to disrepair, becomes third worldly
when I and my family and friends are not free
and there is something terribly wrong with this freedom
while the new freedom comes to the meaning:

of robbery, rape, murder and torture
as things that this new freedom brings.

Freedom!

Freedom, an arm,
To arm the unarmed.
A desire, never been truth,
Always remained in books.

Freedom, a word,
To word the wordless,
An inspiration, never cared,
Always remained in feeling.

Freedom, a dream,
To dream the dreamers.
A taste, never felt,
Always played hide and seek.

Freedom, a fight,
To fight the fighters.
A cry, never exist,
Always lied in sighs.

There is no freedom.
There is no free land,
There is no free man.
There is only a cry,
There is only a reflection,
Only a word out of eternity.
Freedom....

Freedom from the heart of currency notes!

Gandhiji seeks Freedom
Freedom from the mouth of hypocrisies!

Showcased in squares, in buildings, in cites....
Gandhiji seeks Freedom
Freedom from the eyes of his crucifiers!

Masqueraded by every Tom, Dick and Harry
Gandhiji seeks Freedom
Freedom from the hands of his deceitful dupes!

The True Meaning Of Freedom

Many look on what constitutes freedom one might say differently
What seems free to you may not seem free to me
To be ruled by your own people to you as freedom does count
But in the true meaning of freedom that to little amount.

To be ruled by your own people may be seen as quite okay
But if you have to be careful with the words you do say
Then you are not a free person despite about it how you may feel
Your idea of freedom to me does not appeal.

Of love of Country you are one who brag
And your patriotism you carry in your National flag
But despite this your Government you seemingly fear
And they only tell you what you need to hear.

Patriotic songs and ballads many like to sing
And to their admiration of freedom fighters they fervently do cling
And if that's your idea of freedom well that suits me fine
Though your ideas on life are quite different to mine.
