They who are all things to their neighbors cease to be anything to themselves.

Cloaked As Someone's Philanthropist
'Where are your 'things'? '
My 'things'?
I didn't need them.
I gave them away!
'WHHHHAAAATTT! ?
Are you crazed?
What are my friends and neighbors going to say?
What lives are we going to live without those 'things'?
You've ruined my pretentions.
And succeeded in my defeat.
I can no longer flaunt my superficiality!
Why did you do this?
Aren't you feeling just a wee bit dazed? '
Not at all!
From now on I am going to be 'me'!
'AND...
Where will that leave me to be? '
Exposed as the leech you are.
Once cloaked as someone's 'philanthropist'.
To no benefit to the masquerading,
That now has to cease to exist!
'WHHHHAAAATTT! ?
Are you crazed?
What are my friends and neighbors going to say? '
I have no idea.
Why don't you ask?
Most of them I passed...
Standing in line at the soup kitchen!

These Are Our Neighbors
Offered are no alternatives.
But complaints are voiced and heard.
Suggestions they have none.
But they come with venom,
On their tongues.
Exposing the teeth of wolves...
Seeking tender meat,
To consume and run!
These are my neighbors.
These are your neighbors.
These are our neighbors...
Every one.
These are my neighbors.

Grant Us Peace, Father of Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael
Grant us peace,
that we may not oppress our neighbors
Grant us justice,
that we may not enslave our neighbors
Grant us sanity,
that we may not torture our neighbors
Grant us mercy,
that we may not murder our neighbors
Grant us conscience
that we may not expel our neighbors
Grant us love,
that we may hunger for truth
Grant us discernment
that we may know what is ours, and what is not
Grant us decency
that we may return what we stole
Grant us courage
that we may admit what we’ve done
Give us strength to atone.
Ask only
that we end our silence.

For me, Los Angeles, New York, where I don't know my neighbors, where people don't necessarily care if they know their neighbors, I'm missing things that truly fed my soul when I was younger, the exchanges between people, the caring and the shared history with people.
It is the same reason
Why she sings, why she sings out loud at night
When all the neighbors need the peace and quiet
Why she keeps nagging me why she keeps going to
Church everyday why she keeps some dogs in the house
Why she keeps her garden why she keeps an updated menu
Why she sleeps late and wakes up early why she keeps away
From nosy neighbors now why she buys so many shoes
Why she keeps on buying more bags why she scolds the maids
Why she keeps all the things to herself why she experiences
Nightmares why she escapes to the malls and shops all day
Why she keeps asking me what time is it now?

All Things will Die
All Things will Die
Clearly the blue river chimes in its flowing
Under my eye;
Warmly and broadly the south winds are blowing
Over the sky.
One after another the white clouds are fleeting;
Every heart this May morning in joyance is beating
Full merrily;
Yet all things must die.
The stream will cease to flow;
The wind will cease to blow;
The clouds will cease to fleet;
The heart will cease to beat;
For all things must die.
All things must die.
Spring will come never more.
O, vanity!
Death waits at the door.
See! our friends are all forsaking
The wine and the merrymaking.
We are call’d–we must go.
Laid low, very low,
In the dark we must lie.
The merry glees are still;
The voice of the bird
Shall no more be heard,
Nor the wind on the hill.
O, misery!
Hark! death is calling
While I speak to ye,
The jaw is falling,
The red cheek paling,
The strong limbs failing;
Ice with the warm blood mixing;
The eyeballs fixing.
Nine times goes the passing bell:
Ye merry souls, farewell.
The old earth
Had a birth,
As all men know,
Long ago.
And the old earth must die.
So let the warm winds range,
And the blue wave beat the shore;
For even and morn
Ye will never see
Thro’ eternity.
All things were born.
Ye will come never more,
For all things must die.

It is through this mysterious power that we too have our being, and we therefore yield to our neighbors, even to our animal neighbors, the same right as ourselves to inhabit this vast land.

While the level of support we can each provide certainly varies, it is very important at this time that we all do what we can to help our neighbors - not only our immediate neighbors here in Alabama, but those further away in Mississippi and Louisiana.

They are still existing.
Ideals realized,
They cease to be ideals.
Hopes attained,
They cease to be hopes.
Beliefs proven,
They cease to be beliefs.
Faiths established,
They cease to be faiths.
Mind, faith in god
And belief in His deeds
Are still existing.

Already There
I look outside my window
Everything was blanketed in white
The neighbors pushing cars out
From snow that fell on us last night
Started thinking bout
The things we used to do when we were young
Back when things were simple
And getting up was fun
I couldn't care cause I'm already there
Turn around and face the clock
I'd sit and watch

The Neighbors Dog For Your Entertainment
When you watch from the window seal with the utmost entertainment
Your neighbors dog picks up one of your neighbors tools, goes and digs a huge pit, and then buries it.
And then your neighbor comes knocking on your door accusing of stealing his tool.
Do you tell him
Or keep it to yourself, and say you don't know what hes talking about snickering on the inside?
Laughing so hard it makes you want to cry.

Cease Fire
won't look back though
I was torn to pieces nothing will destroy my determination
I won't be surpressed my voice will now be heard
Cease fire - What did I say I didn't mean to blow the world away
Cease fire - What do you know my mouth is like the barrel of a gun
Cease fire - What did I say

A Neighborly Guy
Baptist churches and brotherhood
In a tired, aging town
A moribund neighborhood
Where faith and fraternity are found
Cleveland Ohio’s a rust belt town
Ordinary citizens, still work out the days
Life comes and goes, has ups and has downs
But some neighbors are different in unusual ways
Take Anthony Sowell, a neighborly guy
A smile bright as the sunrise, none brighter or quicker
Liked to sit on his porch, by and by
Sippin’ from a bottle of King Cobra Malt Liquor
Had a few girlfriends over, seemed a regular guy
Neighbors came over for barbecue at times
Always said “good mornin’ and evening” and “hi’
Scrounged up ol’ metal for nickels and dimes
Neighbors at times notice odd scents
Of dead things or spoiled meat
Seemed to be coming from beyond a fence
Of a sausage maker just down the street
But Anthony sowell, a neighborly guy
Had compliant companions who sat quietly inside
Four on the couch slowly rotting
and three on the floor where they died
A few in the hallway
several upstairs in the bed
One in the bathroom,
on his workbench, a severed head
Anthony Sowell, a neighborly guy
was led in handcuffs through his front gate
Left his neighbors imaginations to fly
As to what was in that barbecue they ate
Anthony seemed such a neighborly guy
Some said they’d forever feel sickened
Some said they’d never eat barbecue again
Some said it tasted a little like chicken

A Little Fun Keeps You Young
A Little Fun Keeps You Young
A little fun keeps you young;
A little laughter keeps you bright.
When you get to that age
When a mid life crisis looms
Go out and act like a kid again.
Don’t worry what the neighbors might say
They are probably crazy anyway.
Change your hair color grow it long
Change your style and wear a thong
That will put some spring in your step
Or goose yourself to give you some pep
Don't worry what the neighbors might say
They are probably crazy anyway
Dance till the wee hours in the morning
Let loose, but don’t get lost in the spring
Smile, even if there’s nobody around
Run, until you’re nowhere to be found
Don’t worry what the neighbors might say
You are more than crazy than they anyway..
Pssst..have fun reading this, please, lol.

Watching The Hours Go By
Somebody loves you , somebody cares
You own the love that somebody shares
You should be with me , spending your time
Loving me , loving me now
Holding me only , but now
Im just watching the hours go by
Nothing to do but cry
Now you are gone
I should be glad
But I love you only
So thats why Im sad
Go to your baby , dont make him cry
Each time you kiss him , remember I die
Walls are my neighbors , shadows my friends
Keeping me , watching me there
All of the things we shared
Im just watching the hours go by
Nothing to do but cry
Now you are gone
I should be glad
But I love you only
So thats why Im sad
(break)
Walls are my neighbors , shadows my friends
Keeping me , watching me there
All of the things we shared
Now Im watching the hours go by
Nothing to do but cry
Now you are gone
I should be glad
But I love you only
So thats why Im sad (fade)

Returning Home
In the smoke I smell
Dead animals,
Dead neighbors, friends, and family members.
In the mist I see
All those who were once alive.
Behind me
Our town stands
Burned down to ashes;
Only skeletons remain.
This war has taken away so much.
In the rubble on the streets
I see
The way things once were.
Happy homes
Filled with laughter
Children playing
Stickball in the street.
Now
So much has been taken
Away from me.
We find bodies
In the yards, in the wells,
In our fields and on the streets;
Dead animals,
Dead neighbors, friends, and family members.
The war is over
And we are back.
To bury the dead,
To give hope to the young,
To start again.
