While not widely reported, our victories in Iraq are plentiful. National elections, a democratic parliament and the drafting of a constitution are just some of the victories throughout this embattled country.

I like to think of my best moment on the job as quiet victories. Victories over what Over the system, over the various bureaucracies not watching me, over my colleagues' indifference, over my patron's ignorance, over the very concept of horn-blowing pride.

Little Victories
Words and music by bob seger
When your baby up and leaves you
Up and leaves you flat
Dont you laugh my friend sometimes it happens just like that
First you feel the anger then the sorrow will soon take control
And therell be hard times for sure
Long cold lonely nights
It might not sound like much
But itll mean a lot youll see
Every hour you survive will come to be
A little victory
Little victory
As you struggle through each day
Each strange new day
Feelin lost and wounded tryin hard to find your way
No one there to talk it out with
Learnin how to sleep alone
Overcomin each new doubt
Tryin hard just to accept it all
Everytime you keep control when youre cut off at the knees
Everytime you take a punch and still stand at ease
Little victories
Little victories
And when night falls and theres no one around
The cruelest time of all and not one sound
Listenin to the wind blow
Listenin to the tickin of the clock
Tryin hard to forget
Tryin hard to just accept it all
As you step out in the night take a lesson from the trees
Watch the way they learn to bend with each breeze
Little victories
Everytime you make it through
Its another little victory
Day by day minute by minute
Little victories

Failure
He wrote a play; by day and night
He strove with passion and delight;
Yet knew, long ere the curtain drop,
His drama was a sorry flop.
In Parliament he sought a seat;
Election Day brought dire defeat;
Yet he had wooed with word and pen
Prodigiously his fellow men.
And then he wrote a lighter play
That made him famous in a day.
He won a seat in Parliament,
And starry was the way he went.
Yet as he neared the door of death
They heard him say with broken breath:
'For all I've spoken, planned and penned,
I'm just a wash-out in the end.'
So are we all; our triumphs won
Are mean by what we might have done.
Our victories that men applaud
Are sordid in the sight of God.

In my judgment, based on the work that has been done to this point of the Iraq Survey Group, and in fact, that I reported to you in October, Iraq was in clear violation of the terms of U.N.Resolution 1441.
National study of Physiology
Living in england just isnt what it used to be
Were living in a messed up parliamentary democracy
And to be telling the truth is now to be constricted
That is the results of my National study of Physiology
My study is of how everybody lives and work
But every movment I take im being followed
I get someone to tell the truth, there killed
And once again the nation is in sorrow
We are still a country with a constitutional monarchy
And the queen just comes out on a special occasion
Just looking on letting parliament close down free will
And still I carry on with my National study of Physiology
It now seems every day there a murder or death on the news
Its either caused by some disagrement from ethnic race’s
Another country have a brand new war
But then straight back to local where its caused by booze’s
And now I think I have my results of my National study of Physiology
And I can now leave with my keen understanding of my bioloigy.

Over the hills and far away
Over the hills and far away,
A little boy steals from his morning play
And under the blossoming apple-tree
He lies and he dreams of the things to be:
Of battles fought and of victories won,
Of wrongs o'erthrown and of great deeds done -
Of the valor that he shall prove some day,
Over the hills and far away -
Over the hills, and far away!
Over the hills and far away
It's, oh, for the toil the livelong day!
But it mattereth not to the soul aflame
With a love for riches and power and fame!
On, 0 man! while the sun is high -
On to the certain joys that lie
Yonder where blazeth the noon of day,
Over the hills and far away -
Over the hills, and far away!
Over the hills and far away,
An old man lingers at close of day;
Now that his journey is almost done,
His battles fought and his victories won -
The old-time honesty and truth,
The trustfulness and the friends of youth,
Home and mother-where are they?
Over the hills and far away -
Over the years, and far away!

Mr Tony Blair
Like every British Prime Minister he has purpose in his stare
And few are as good at talking tough as Mr Tony Blair
Once the World's greatest Empire to much now does not amount
And lessons that are in the past are never taken into account.
The British Government once took part of Iraq and formed a new State
And re-named Iraq's nineteenth province the Kingdom of Kuwait
And one war leads to another war look at Iraq today
A land ravaged by war where the Brits play a major part along with the U S A.
The winners always write the history in Ireland Cromwell left his trail of shame
But like every other war winner he did not take any blame
For the diplacement and deaths of thousands of innocent people streets signs now honour his ill fame
Yet in England's sister Country his is still a loathed name.
And the old tradition of waging war carried on by Mr Blair
In this wrongful war waged in Iraq he is a major player
And Saddam was the loser his statue was dragged down
If he had won today he'd be the God of Baghdad Town.
Can the likes of Bush and Blair and Johnny Howard bring back to life their war dead?
They only have the power for to take life enough of them is said
They are as bad as Saddam who is deservedly in disgrace
But the winners only write the war history and that always is the case.
Perhaps he will live to a ripe old age and the good life he'll enjoy
And for his victories in war as a hero he will die
And in years from now there will be streets named after Tony Blair
When all is said and all is done doesn't life seem so unfair?
