Take your victories, whatever they may be, cherish them, use them, but don't settle for them.

Settle Down My Boy
Settle down, an eat your peas and gravy, my boy
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Stop wasting all your time with running around the town
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Knuckle down and find a job and take some responsibility
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
The futures something you should be thinking about
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Look around for a wife to start a family, my boy
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Listen toy our father and hell tell you the same as me
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Your words would go in one ear and out the other side
Dont say my head was empty and I had things to hide
And you better put something away for your old age
So settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down uh huh huh

Cherish
Cherish
those who are close to you
before they go away.
Cherish
all your memories
in case they fade someday.
Cherish
each day you have,
treat it as your last.
Cherish
everything you have
ensuring they never get lost.
Cherish
every moment
as if it maybe your last.
Cherish
everything you possess,
as you might never get it again.
Cherish
your life,
as it is the only one you got.
Cherish
your health
if it fails you will fade away.
Cherish
the love of others
and return it equally.
But most of all
cherish everything.

Settle Down
Album: Eternal (2001)
[Chorus]
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down with me, babe
Settle down
Would you like a house on the hill
Overlooking the ocean side
Tell me, would you like that baby
Or how about a high-rise apartment
In Manhattan on the east side
If that's what you need
I'm here to please
Won't you settle down with me, baby
[Chorus]
We could take a jet plane all the way to Spain
Just to buy you a wedding ring
Tell me, would you like that baby
Oh, talk to me girl
We could get married on Christmas day
On the shores of Montego Bay
If that's what you need
I'm here to please
Won't you settle down with me
If you're ready
Only if you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
Tell me if you're ready, ready yeah
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down, settle down
Settle down
I'm not trying to buy your love
Money ain't in it
You can't put a rpice on love
Tell me if I'm worthy of
Worthy of you're hand
Girl let's start making plans
You're shining like a star above
You're the light of my life
Oh girl, be my wife
Settle down baby
Oh but first
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
I wanna know if you're ready, tell me baby
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down babe
Settle down
Ooh
oh, whoa
Oooh
No no no no no no no
Yeah yes
Oh settle down babe
Settle down
You tell me when you're ready
(I'm ready, I'm ready)
Do you think you're ready
(I, yes I am baby)
Please tell me
(You already know)
When you're ready
(Yes I'm ready)
Then We can settle down
(Settle down babe)
Settle down
(I'm ready)
I wanna know if you're ready
Oh wee, oh it feels like you're ready babe
I can tell if you're ready
We need to settle down babe

Ill Settle For You
(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
Every star has a twinkle
Every palm has a wrinkle
Every leaf comes from a tree
I would agree
So if everything is made up of two
And the sky really needs the blue
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Every future has a past
Every first has a last
Every night has a day
Come what may
So if everything is made up of two
Whether it be old or new
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Who wants to be like a sea without a shore
The love just drifting forever more
Every smile has a frown
All you gotta do is turn it upside down
Every house has a door
Of that Im sure
So if everything is made up of two
I think it would be best if you know
For my other half
Ill settle for you
Dont you know, Ill settle for you
Ill settle for you
If I had to settle, baby
Ill settle for you
Dont you know, Ill settle for you

Love Cherish Love
If you have a Love
That feels the same for you
Cherish this Love
For you will never be blue
If you have a Love
Who is thankful & grateful
Cherish this Love
For she will always be plentiful
If you have a Love
Who has grace & style
Cherish this Love
For you will have the grandest smile
If you have a Love
Who rises like Sunshine
Cherish this Love
For she is pure, true & divine
If you have a Love
Who dreams like Midnight
Cherish this Love
For she will always do you right
If you have a Love
Who inhances like Spring
Cherish this Love
For the Bluebirds will forever sing
If you have a Love
Who is as bright as a Star
Cherish this Love
For she will carry you very far

I like to think of my best moment on the job as quiet victories. Victories over what Over the system, over the various bureaucracies not watching me, over my colleagues' indifference, over my patron's ignorance, over the very concept of horn-blowing pride.

Settle Down
Brimming with useless information,
Spilling thoughts void of true opinion,
Yes you'll fight it to the death,
Yeah you'll fight it to the death.
Fighting someone elses favour,
Regurgetate the words you heard on radio 2,
Arghhh didn't you?
[chorus]
Stop throwing insults and crockery around,
We can all be destructive so settle down, settle down
Well every dialoge needs a certain suitor,
One whos open minded,
To calmly digest the very question of,
And understand,
to look at things from many angles,
constuct and critic without anger,
Even comprimise,
You never comprimise
chorus x2
Stop throwing insults and crockery around,
Stop throwing insults and crockery around,
We can all be destructive so settle down, settle down
Stop throwing insults and crockery around,
We can all be destructive so settle down, settle down, settle down, settle down

Cherish
Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don't know how many times I've wished that I had told you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could hold you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could
Mold you into someone who could
Cherish me as much as I cherish you
Perish is the word that more than applies
To the hope in my heart each time I realize
That I am not gonna be the one to share your dreams
That I am not gonna be the one to share your schemes
That I am not gonna be the one to share what
Seems to be the life that you could
Cherish as much as I do yours
Oh I'm beginning to think that man has never found
The words that could make you want me
That have the right amount of letters, just the right sound
That could make you hear, make you see
That you are drivin' me out of my mind
Oh I could say I need you but then you'd realize
That I want you just like a thousand other girls
Who'd say they loved you With all the rest of their lies
When all they wanted was to touch your face, your hands
And gaze into your eyes
Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don't know how many times I've wished that I had told you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could hold you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could
Mold you into someone who could
Cherish me as much as I cherish you
And I do cherish you
And I do cherish you
Cherish is the word

Player
Im a player..... girl I thought you knew
When you started messin around with me, knew I wouldnt commit to you
Cause Im a player...... and I know you cant see it in my eyes......
Everyone says that Im innocent, and it should come as no surprise....
That Im a player........... and I really think you need to know
That I cant love you right now baby, cause I need more time to grow.......
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........
Im a player, and Ive traveled all around the world,
Ive broken many hearts, and it really hurts to say this to you girl
But Im a player........ and its kinda sad that it has to be this way,
But I dont wanna lock oyou down until Im ready, so right now, Im gonna play......
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........
[bass guitar plays]
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........

Settle Down
Settle down, dont settle down without me, no, no
Settle down, Ill settle down for good, yeah
Settle down, Ill settle down around you, yeah, yeah
Settle down, Ill settle down for sure, yeah
Whatever I can do, I will
cause Im good like that
For seven years, seven days, and seven hours
I took my chances, yeah
Whatever I can do, I will
cause I want
Never lose that feeling
Never lose that feeling
Settle down, Ill settle down around you, yeah, yeah
Settle down, Ill settle down for good, yeah
Settle down, dont settle down without me, no, no
Settle down, Ill settle down for sure, yeah
Never lose that feeling
Never, no, no
Never lose your feelings
Never, thats for sure
Never lose that feeling
Never lose that feeling
Never lose that feeling
Never lose that feeling
Never lose that feeling
Never lose that feeling
Whatever I can do, I will
cause I want to, and what I want I get
Seven years, seven days, and seven hours
I took my chances, yeah
Settle down, dont settle down without me, no, no
Settle down, Ill settle down for good, yeah
Settle down, Ill settle down around you, yeah, yeah
Settle down, Ill settle down for sure, yeah

Little Victories
Words and music by bob seger
When your baby up and leaves you
Up and leaves you flat
Dont you laugh my friend sometimes it happens just like that
First you feel the anger then the sorrow will soon take control
And therell be hard times for sure
Long cold lonely nights
It might not sound like much
But itll mean a lot youll see
Every hour you survive will come to be
A little victory
Little victory
As you struggle through each day
Each strange new day
Feelin lost and wounded tryin hard to find your way
No one there to talk it out with
Learnin how to sleep alone
Overcomin each new doubt
Tryin hard just to accept it all
Everytime you keep control when youre cut off at the knees
Everytime you take a punch and still stand at ease
Little victories
Little victories
And when night falls and theres no one around
The cruelest time of all and not one sound
Listenin to the wind blow
Listenin to the tickin of the clock
Tryin hard to forget
Tryin hard to just accept it all
As you step out in the night take a lesson from the trees
Watch the way they learn to bend with each breeze
Little victories
Everytime you make it through
Its another little victory
Day by day minute by minute
Little victories

The Way Things Are
I wouldnt know what to do with another chance
If you gave it to me
I couldnt take the embrace of a real romance
Itd race right through me
Im much better off the way things are
Much much better off, better by far, by far
I wouldnt know what to say to a gentle voice
Itd roll right past me
And if you chalk it up youll see I dont really have a choice
So dont even ask me
Im much better off, the way things are
Much much better off, better by far
So keep on calling me names, keep on, keep on
And Ill keep kicking the crap till its gone
If you keep on killing, you could get me to settle
And as soon as I settle, I bet Ill be
Able to move on
How can I fight, when were on the same side
How can I fight beside you
So keep on calling me names, keep on, keep on
And Ill keep kicking the crap till its gone
If you keep on killing, you could get me to settle
And as soon as I settle, I bet Ill be
Able to move on
So keep on calling me names, keep on, keep on
And Ill keep kicking the crap till its gone
If you keep on killing, you could get me to settle
And as soon as I settle, I bet Ill be
Able to move on

Cherish The Day
you're ruling the way that i move
and i breathe your air
you only can rescue me
this is my prayer
if you were mine
if you were mine
i wouldn't want to go to heaven
i cherish the day
i won't go astray
i won't be afraid
you won't catch me running
you're ruling the way that i move
you take my air
you show me how deep love can be
you're ruling the way that i move
and i breathe your air
you only can rescue me
this is my prayer
i cherish the day
i won't go astray
i won't be afraid
you won't catch me running
i cherish the day
i won't go astray
i won't be afraid
won't run away
you show me how deep love can be
you show me how deep love can be
this is my prayer
i cherish the day
i won't go astray
i won't be afraid
won't run away
won't shy
i cherish the day
i won't go astray
i cherish the day
i cherish the day
i cherish the day
i cherish the day
i cherish the day

Fate vs Destiny
To find your true happiness tempt fate to discover your destiny.
You must hearken back to when real happiness was known
Remember its impact on your life
Opportunity knocks, open the door, you will see it coming.
You may be surprised to discover fate can mask your destiny.
Your fate and your destiny are not one in the same.
Your fate is what you settle for in life.
What you take as your life marches on day by day, an obligation to life.
Destiny is the gate you find at the end of the path you blaze
As you strive to attain life’s goal open the gate and find love,
Happiness and contentment; true peace of heart and mind.
Fate may leave you at destiny’s gate at the end of life.
Knowing only the travails of your battles to achieve life’s goal
Knowing not the sweetness of your victories.
The gate may not be open, leaving you empty
At the end of life's journey.
The path to your destiny is yours and yours alone
Ask yourself whether you wish to settle for your fate or…
Tempt your fate and discover the path.
The dark side of life; fear and self doubt can blur and cover the path.
Not always seen in the clear; hidden in your memory
Or on the full plate before you the path is always there.
Those who have known the depth of their love, the strength of their spirit,
Will find a guiding light illuminates their path.
In these qualities of character you will discover your true self
And the key to unlock the gate.
You will recognize the guide of your light.
The choice is yours, settle for fate or follow the light,
Find the key, unlock the gate … discover your destiny.
