There is a sacred horror about everything grand. It is easy to admire mediocrity and hills; but whatever is too lofty, a genius as well as a mountain, an assembly as well as a masterpiece, seen too near, is appalling.

Small Flowers
The familiarity of a flower is so small,
I love to admire and drink this alcohol.
I may at first be appalling, so splendid,
Yet now the mother in you is abdicated.
Never in this mind of a lovely lady
Do I see applause, like the raining indecency
Of a mild season, one of the efforts,
May appalling weather have comforts.

I May Well Be A Mediocrity
I MAY WELL BE A MEDIOCRITY
I may well be a mediocrity
One who tries and tries
But never really inspires-
I may well be one of the many
Called but not chosen-
I may be more another small unimportant disturbance
Than one whose work is of real meaning and value-
I may well be a mediocrity
And an ultimate nothing-
Whose words are now saved by a new technology
But will be dust forever -
I may well be a mediocrity
Despite wanting so much not to be-
I may well be a mediocrity
And probably am-
In which case I apologize
To the reader of this
If there is one
For taking your time.

Go, Tell It On The Mountain
Go, tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain
Our jesus christ is born
When I was just a learner
I sought by night and day
To have the good lord help me
To guide me on my way
For I am like a shepherd
My hopes and faith to guard
Each day I find the answer
And love is my reward
Go, tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain
Our jesus christ is born
The shepherds kept their watching
Oer silent flocks by night
When lo! throughout the heavens
There shone a holy light
The shepherds feared and trembled
When high above the earth
Rang out an angels chorus
To hail our saviors birth
Go, tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain
Our jesus christ is born
Go, tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain
Our jesus christ is born
Our jesus, jesus christ is born
That jesus christ is born
Go and tell, tell it on the mountain
That jesus christ, christ is born

By the grace of [Autofill]
My knees, my mind, my whole soul aches
and yes a drowsy numbness steals
around my kneecaps – it’s been
a self-assembly afternoon.
I’m not made for self-assembly:
unwrap the components, lay
it on the carpet, they advised;
and then? The postures of
Islamic prayer, cross-legged Hindu,
Christian missionary position, none
seemed to work for more than
a few seconds at a time.
It proved an allegorical point though:
I’m a sorry kit of self-assembly in myself:
impatience, rage, resentment – they
never said it was self-assembly, either…
by now every nation in the world
must be swearing as it sweats
over self-assembly, to its own One God
which however, has a different name
from the One God of others, and it seems,
plays by different rules..
how ironic it must seem to Him, or Her, or It –
a world united in the jihad of self-assembly,
divided in its allegiance to the One God
whose Unique Selling Point, you’d think,
was that of ultimate unity.. even before
we get down to justice, mercy, goodness, all that stuff.
I wonder if in this age of internet-speak
it might aid the unity of nations and
the deity they pray to (yes, He/She/It might like it too?) if
we would offer up our concerted prayers
for simplified but easy-follow instructions
in our human self-assembly kit
to [Autofill].. the God
of a Thousand Names, yet
only one Creation.

If you stick with a vision, it might not all work, but some of it will be absolute genius. To me, 15 minutes worth of absolute genius in a film is so much better than two hours of mediocrity. I would rather pay to see something different like that.

Cloudburst Of Romantics
They took the hike
He tasted the cold snow
Of the mountain top
She pumped and pumped
Her legs as she escalate
With the thinning air
Until they conquered
The lofty slope
Aghast, they panted
And spoke each other's name
They were at the top of the world
A perfect place to fall
Together, they filled the skies
With new born nebulas and
Took each turn to admire
Their lofty masterpiece
From her tiny drops of Jupiter
To his reigning ring of Saturn
They owned the universe
The blinding pole dance
Of their creation blinded them
Of the spilled milk;
A sap of life,
a premature death
The universe, their universe,
Continued to spun its yarns
until she was gravid
With stars
But he wouldn't
Consign to the risk
It was just his fix:
Star hunting
Still she wove and wove
The celestial dawn that brought
Their universe together
Only to discover
That while she sat
Engulfed by her dancing comets
He went on to collect
New constricted rings
For his assuaging fix
And in that nook of the universe
Where he was the center
She rocked out of keel
Devoured by the shadows
Casted by garish starlights
Laid before the judgment
Of Babylonian gods
A blackhole is being born
In this abortive bliss
That even the brightest stars
Their once redeeming universe
Could not light.

Our Eyes
Our eyes
are limpid
drops of water.
In each drop exists
a tiny sign
of our genius
which has given life to cold iron.
Our eyes
are limpid
drops of water
merged absolutely in the Ocean
that you could hardly recognize
the drop in a block of ice
in a boiling pan.
The masterpiece of these eyes
the fulfillment of their genius
the living iron.
In these eyes
filled with limpid
pure tears
had failed to emerge
from the infinite Ocean
if the strength
had dispersed,
we could never have mated
the dynamo with the turbine,
never have moved
those steel mountains in water
easily
as if made of hollow wood.
The masterpiece of these eyes
the fulfillment of their genius
of our unified labour
the living iron.

I Am Not Proud Of Being A Mediocrity
I AM NOT PROUD OF BEING A MEDIOCRITY
I am not proud of being a mediocrity-
But if I am
Does this mean
I should stop writing forever?
Does it mean I should spend the rest of my life
In bitter angry lament?
If I am a mediocrity
And chances are good that I am
Then perhaps I should just try to live with it
And understand
The only one who's time will be wasted
And who will give attention to all this writing I have done
Is me.
Mediocrity or not,
I can still try to be a fairly decent human being.

Song Of A Mountain Man
I come from Land of bracken hills and green meads fringed by hedges
And I am still a mountain man and rough around the edges
And now I live in Sherbrooke Shire in the Dandenong Ranges
From Bracken hills to gum tree hills the scenery so changes.
I've never cared for city life and I feel only pity
For those who have to live and work in the smoky inner city
Pollution clogs the city skies, the traffic noise and rattle
Down in the smoky concrete World life's like a constant battle.
The mountain man a healthy man the air he breathe is cleaner
And he's living in a Natural World a World that's quiet and greener
He's living in a Natural World his life span ought be longer
The mountain man a healthier man than city man far stronger.
I love the hills the quiet hills, the woods where birds are singing
And every time I leave the hills back to the hills my thoughts go winging
For I don't like the Concrete World the World of man's endeavour
And I'll always be a mountain man a mountain man forever.

Marching in Numbers
The folly of numbers are grand, as they march
To and fro, along the lands and seas of steam,
Over hills and mountains going away far,
To keep alliances and share prizes,
So grand are risings of the sun, the sun,
And the mean women are lost in the sun.
They shall never win over crews so large,
Carrying firepower, easy joy from a large power,
It stings the woman, and displays men
As they really are in the sun and at night.
The number of men and women in combat
Equalled the deceased ones, the same as anything.
