Freebies Bring No Smile
Our politicians used to say,
Let us see the God,
in the smiles of poor and destitute.
I ask them a simple question,
How long we have to be poor,
to see our Gods in our smiles.
We do not need subsidies,
we want opportunities,
to prove ourselves,
to prove our qualification,
to prove that we are human,
to feed our children,
to provide our families.
Take away the subsidies,
Give us the opportunities,
to toil on our own soil,
instead of digging,
the opportunity of another,
Who may be as poor as we are.

Give Me More Time
(coverdale/galley)
I want you
I need your rhyme,
But, you keep saying, babe,
Its gonna take time
I know the heartache
I put you through,
Believe me, babe,
Im gonna make it up to you
You are the reason
Im down on my knees,
Im begging you to give me a chance
If only you would
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time,
To prove it to you...
So many feelings
I cant explain,
I never thought Id ever cause you any pain
Now Im alone here
An I cant hide,
The sun dont shine for me
Without you by my side
You are the reason
Im down on my knees,
Im begging you to give me a chance
If only you would
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time
To prove it to you...
An Im gonna prove it...
I want you
Right by my side
cos youre the only one who keeps me satisfied
I need your loving,
I need your charms,
I cant stand the through of you
In someone elses arms
You are the reason
Im down on my knees,
Im begging you to give me a chance
If only you would
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time,
Give me just a little more time
To prove it to you...
An Im gonna prove it...

Opportunity
Opportunity, it is said,
knocks but once.
Opportunity, sometimes
knocks a few times.
The gospel truth is,
Opportunity's frequency is erratic.
Opportunity is a windfall,
in true truth a one-off affair.
This explicitly explains why
To the wise the plausible option,
is to grab the first opportunity.
Striking when iron is hot
Sparing oneself the guilt
Of not grasping an opportunity,
When it itself, presents.
Opportunity to the fool,
knocks when requested.
It is there to be clasped,
when really required.
No doubt missed opportunity,
is the facet of a fool.
Be wise, act rationally
Be guided by the reasoning
The time- tested saying
‘opportunity, knocks but once'.

With A Pity That You Want
With a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want.
And with a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want.
You weep too deep,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
To realize...
A pain you keep.
With a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Other people who have less,
Do their best to not in public bleed.
But...
You're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Yes you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
You weep too deep,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
And your wants are weak.
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Other people who have less,
Do their best to not in public bleed.
But...
You're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Yes you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
You're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Yes you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Other people who have less,
Do their best to not in public bleed.
Oh...
But you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Yes you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
With a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want.
And with a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want,
To show you're one of those...
With a pity that you want,
To show exposed.
With a pity that you want,
To be one of those!

Not Seeking a Free Lunch
Give me the illiterate.
And those illegitimate,
With the negative sentiments.
Made by those disgruntled...
With expressed opinions sent.
Although not facing,
Similar predicaments.
And I will show you a people,
As proud as they can be...
To work and struggle harder,
To prove themselves...
Not out to seek a free lunch!
Like most everyone else...
Looking for a sweetened life,
Easy for them to munch.
Or accepting handouts believed,
Given to those too ignorant to know...
Who patronizes them,
In an 'asumed' defeat.
And not realize,
They too recognize an opportunity...
To get themselves on their own two feet.

Golden Opportunity
(ian hunter)
The kids are ok
Theyre telling you now
But youre letting them down
Cause you just dont know how
And its a golden opportunity
Im spinning in space
Im laughing away
Your so pathetic
I can just hear them say
Its like a golden opportunity
You better hear it
See hear it
Its a golden opportunity
You better hear it
Get near it
Its a golden opportunity
We reckon theyre rats
Now see how they run
My house is so common
And were dumb were so dumb
And its a golden opportunity
Scream all you suckers
Scream all you can
Im losing my bluff
Its a scam its a scam
And its a golden opportunity
You better hear it
You better hear it hear it
Its like a golden opportunity
You better hear it
You better hear it hear it
Its like a golden opportunity
Alright!
You better hear it hear it
Hear it hear it
Its a golden opportunity
Hear it
Hear it
Its a golden opportunity
You better hear it
You better hear it
Its a golden opportunity
You better hear it
You better hear it
Its a golden opportunity

To Prove What I Could Do Could Be Done
If it had not been for my parents,
I doubt very seriously...
I would have sought reasons to rebel.
Especially when I threatened as a child,
To run away from home on many occasions.
And I was reminded...
More than once,
Whatever I chose to do...
They did not need a two week notice,
To prove what I could do could be done.
'You don't love me! '
~You don't know that until you leave.
Give us the opportunity to miss you first.~

No No They Don't
No one can express concern,
To those who only associate themselves...
With disrespect.
No love can be shared,
With someone who perceives...
A weakness is there.
Expectations are not too high...
When low self esteem,
Is threatened by achieving mediocrity.
'You can 'trip' if you want to!
By showing fools you can do backflips!
To prove that's what you can do.
And expect them to be awed by it!
You can even scoop them fresh ice cream,
To soothe their 'mooding' too!
With lips dripping from an oozing positivity...
You believe will impress.
With an attention that captures,
To arrest an understanding...
You 'then' can address.
But people like these,
Don't give a damn...
About their own mamas.
You can 'trip' if you want to!
By showing fools you can do backflips!
To prove that's what you can do.
And expect them to be awed by it!
But people like these,
Don't give a damn...
About their own mamas.
No no they don't,
Give a damn about their mamas.
Oh no they don't,
Give a damn about their mamas.
No no they don't,
Give a damn about their mamas.'

Center Of Attention
Doesn't it seem as if,
The one most opinionated...
As to who should do what to get things done,
Is seldom the one to show proof of doing anything...
Others can criticize.
People will lie on others when given the opportunity.
Especially if another is conveniently absent.
With a doing without an equal and shared mutual expertise,
That is exchanged in public in the presence of another accused...
As quickly as those opinions by one are given?
Usually it's just that one verbally attacking behind another's back.
Isn't it?
People will lie on others when given the opportunity.
Especially if another is conveniently absent.
Loving to be the center of attention without being interrupted.
And proving to have an ability to do it!
To boost one's acceptance and appeal.
While keeping one's insecurities from being revealed.
Even though this can not remain concealed without being exposed.
People will lie on others when given the opportunity.
Especially if another is conveniently absent.

Airportman
He moves efficiently
Beyond security.
Great opportunity awaits.
Airport fluorescent
Creature of habit
Labored breathing and sallow skin
Recycled air
Moving Sideways
Great opportunity blinks.
Great opportunity blinks.
Discounted.
The people mover
The people mover
Discounted.

Chatterbox
Many say they can deliver,
But only few can receive.
Lips flapping nonstop...
Don't believe!
Ears may be wide open,
But the brain is shut closed.
Ignorance exposed...
Is there to show!
People think they get their blessings,
By listening to a preacher.
Fidgeting and sitting,
While nothing's sinking in.
Schools may hire teachers,
To give lessons to the kids.
But nobody cares,
What's in these quick heads of kids.
'I do! '
That's not enough.
'Me too! '
That's not enough.
'We do,
And we make it our business to prove it! '
'I do! '
That's not enough.
'Me too! '
That's not enough.
'We do,
And we make it our business to prove it! '
And 'this' is apparent.
Absent parents on the scene,
Pretending caring done is...their 'thing'.
With chatterbox nonstop...
As if a corn popping machine.
And that caring's not there,
Anywhere to be seen.
'I do! '
That's not enough.
'Me too! '
That's not enough.
'We do,
And we make it our business to prove it! '
'I do! '
That's not enough.
'Me too! '
That's not enough.
'We do,
And we make it our business to prove it! '
'I do! '
That's not enough.
'Me too! '
That's not enough.
'We do,
And we make it our business to prove it! '
'I do! '
That's not enough.
'Me too! '
That's not enough.
'We do,
And we make it our business to prove it! '
Chatterbox!
'I do.'
Chatterbox!
'Me too.'
Chatterbox!
'We do...
And, so do you! '
Chatterbox!
'I do.'
Chatterbox!
'Me too.'
Chatterbox!
'We do...
And, so do you! '

The Sacred And Profane
give me tears
give me love
let me rest
let up on
send the bored
your restless
the feedback-scarred
devotionless
you're all a part of me now
and if i fall
you're all a part of me now
in the sun
you're all a part of me now
you're all a part of me now
will love ever be enough
just in time to prove
will words ever be enough
just in time to lose
give me signs
that arrest
it could snow
and happiness
give me time
give me peace
and i will prove
my release
you're all a part of me now
and if i fall
you're all a part of me now
in the sun
you're all a part of me now
you're all a part of me now
will love ever be enough
just in time to prove
will time ever be enough
will love ever be enough
you're all a part of me now
and if i fall
you're all a part of me now
in the sun
you're all a part of me now
you're all a part of me now
you're all a part of me now
and if i fall
you're all a part of me now
in the sun
you're all a part of me now
will love ever be enough
will love ever be enough
will love ever be enough
just in time to prove

One By One
I remember wasting time
Watching as the planes fly by
I remember hearing the engines echoing through the sky
And they used to say
That someday you'll forget it
You won't hear them
And they used to say
That time goes by
That nothing changes
[Chorus]
I won't miss my flight again
I'm not where I belong
So give me just one chance
And one by one I'll prove you wrong
One by one I'll prove you wrong
I remember every night
Sitting by the runway side
I remember waiting for a reason to say goodbye
And they used to say
That someday you'll forget it
You won't hear them
And they used to say
The day goes by but you can't change it
[CHORUS]
Sometimes I think I've been wrong
But this is the place that I think I belong
And everytime I speak my mind I'm leaving you behind
and I won't miss my flight again
I'm not where I belong
So give me just one chance
And one by one I'll prove you wrong
I won't miss my flight again
I'm not where I belong
So give me just one chance
And one by one I'll prove you wrong
one by one I'll prove you wrong
one by one I'll prove you wrong
one by one I'll prove you wrong

Especially in the realm of bringing an opportunity to do something creative to people, as I said, who wouldn't ordinarily have that opportunity. I think that's very important.
Do You?
When life gets hard?
Do you give up?
When people doubt you?
Do you prove them wrong?
When people say things?
Do you let it get to you?
When you don't want to be here?
Do you pretend you somewhere else?
When nobody seem to care?
Do you just wonder why?
When life doesn’t go your way?
Do you try to fix it?
When you don’t know what to do?
Do you do the only thing you know?
When you seem to give up on life?
Do you remember the good things that come out of it?
When people not who they seem?
Does that mean you can’t trust anybody?
When you give up on life,
You are missing the things that are offered.
When life gets hard,
It only makes you a stronger person.
When people doubt you,
Who should care?
When people say things,
That’s there problem.
When nobody seem to care,
You can’t just wonder why.
When life don’t go your way,
There a reason it didn’t.
When you don’t know what to do,
You turn to somebody who does.
When people not who they seem,
Remember there always somebody better.

Opportunity Nox
Well, I like you, I couldnt think of anything but you
For a week I was in love with your hairdo
I couldnt chew those muffins I used to
I knew I was way over the moon
When I met you, when I met you, I didnt know what to do.
When I saw you, when I saw you you said:
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im living in a box but Im out when opportunity nox...
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im living in a box but Im out when opportunity nox...
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im dying in a box but Im out when opportunity rox on
Im sleeping and Im dreaming so solo
I saw you in the crowd in the front row
You couldnt get it right in the disco
Youre dancing so much better in slo-mo
When I met you, when I met you, I didnt know what to do.
When I saw you, yeah, when I saw you, I said:
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im living in a box but Im out when opportunity nox...
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im living in a box but Im out when opportunity nox...
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Im dying in a box but Im out when opportunity rox on

Give The People What They Want
Hey, hey, hey...
Give the people what they want
Well, its been said before, the world is a stage
A different performance with every age.
Open the history book to any old page
Bring on the lions and open the cage.
Give the people what they want
You gotta give the people what they want
The more they get, the more they need
And every time they get harder and harder to please
The roman promoters really did things right.
They needed a show that would clearly excite.
The attendance was sparse so they put on a fight
Threw the christians to the lions, sold out every night
Give the people what they want
You gotta give the people what they want
The more they get, the more they need
And every time they get harder and harder to please
Give em lots of sex, perversion and rape
Give em lots of violence, and plenty to hate
Give the people what they want
Give the people what they want
When olswald shot kennedy, he was insane
But still we watch the re-runs again and again
We all sit glued while the killer takes aim
Hey mom, there goes a piece of the presidents brain!
Give the people what they want
You gotta give the people what they want
Blow out your brains, and do it right
Make sure its prime time and on a saturday night.
You gotta give the people what they want
You gotta give the people what they want
Give the people what they want
Give the people what they want
Give the people what they want

IF' Given The Opportunity
If one is in possession of anything,
One has earned and deserves...
Why would others expect,
That this person will beg from them...
To be welcomed with acceptance?
And just for kicks do a tap dance routine.
'IF' given the opportunity to entertain,
Those sitting on neighborhood stoops...
In discussion about what goes on across the street.
While standing on corners are others protecting their turf,
As if to supply security for vacant lots filled with trash.
If one is in possession of anything,
One has earned and deserves...
Why would others expect,
That this person will beg from them...
To be welcomed with acceptance?
And just for kicks do a tap dance routine.
'IF' given the opportunity to entertain them,
Until they give approval of one's ability...
To tap and smile at the same time.
Just to prove one's affiliation and representation.
