Writing is very much a playground - an artistic playground. It's the most fun thing I do.

Playground
I climb up, spending daylight
Slide down drunken on the other side
Some sweet girl, playing my wife,
Runs off with a boy whose bike shell ride

Never stop rehearsing, rehearsing for the big square world
Bells will ring, door flings open
Hare and greyhound in the old kiss chase
Youve been caught, game has ended

This boy must try harder to please
From down on his knees

Brain gets bent, heart gets broken

School is out but never over
Thats the only lesson you can learn

Playground Love
Im a high school lover, and youre my favorite flavor
Love is all, all my soul
Youre my playground love
Yet my hands are shaking
I feel my body remains, themes no matter, Im on fire
On the playground, love.
Youre the piece of gold the flushes all my soul.
Extra time, on the ground.
Youre my playground love.
Anytime, anyway,
Youre my playground love.

This Used To Be My Playground
Chorus (first time without background vocals):
This used to be my playground [used to be]
This used to be my childhood dream
This used to be the place I ran to
Whenever I was in need
Of a friend
Why did it have to end
And why do they always say
Don't look back
Keep your head held high
Don't ask them why
Because life is short
And before you know
You're feeling old
And your heart is breaking
Don't hold on to the past
Well that's too much to ask
(Long and movie versions only:)
(chorus)
Live and learn
Well the years they flew
And we never knew
We were foolish then
We would never tire
And that little fire
Is still alive in me
It will never go away
Can't say goodbye to yesterday [can't say goodbye]
(chorus)
No regrets
But I wish that you
Were here with me
Well then there's hope yet
I can see your face
In our secret place
You're not just a memory
Say goodbye to yesterday [the dream]
Those are words I'll never say [I'll never say]
This used to be my playground [used to be]
This used to be our pride and joy
This used to be the place we ran to
That no one in the world could dare destroy
(Short and movie versions only:)
This used to be our playground [used to be]
This used to be our childhood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
I wish you were standing here with me
(Movie version only:)
This used to be our playground [used to be]
This used to be our great escape
This used to be the place we ran to
This used to be our secret hiding place
This used to be our playground [used to be]
This used to be our childhood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
The best things in life are always free
Wishing you were here with me

I am not a soldier
'Hey! I take my hands up
And please don't shoot me
This is my grand son's toy gun.'
'Then why did you come to the battlefield? ' Soldier inquired.
'I am jogging as per my diabetes doctor's advise.'
'You should go to a playground.'
'Certainly this is a playground not a battlefield brother,
Both parties are friends and why hold the guns?
While enemies groan in their castles comfortably.'

Clickity, click, click
Clickity, click, click
~
The number of clicks
Those little groups
To which were forced fit
Into the adult world
No more bestest friends
Like a Childs playground game
Long since put to rest
In the pretence of professionalism
Into the workplace we stroll
And those clickity clicks
Outsiders kept at reach
Beyond the context of the conversation
Are we all in the playground again?
Grown up kids clickity click
Little games bestest friends
Don’t like the newbie, kind of strange
Doesn’t fit in, not this place
Not so much the childhood innocence
More the shame of adult ignorance
The way of work and at rest
How its still all a playground game
Pick your team clickity click

The Playground
For decades, it was a playground and now a pauper's graveyard.
A politician suggests to make it a playground again.
I try to collect the names of champions
But no tombs and I hear some whispers;
'What is the use of getting our names
As we cannot compete the living souls?
Let us sleep well and write down this in your notebook brother.
We do not have regrets as there is no any race further.
Mr.Reporter, if possible lets work together to ensure
That every dead soul has a right to sleep.'

Empty Playground
The swings stand empty,
but rock back and forth.
Probably in the memory,
of the children who sat on them.
The slide is also empty,
with no laughter filling the air.
The children have all gone home,
leaving the playground empty
with no one there.
Maybe tomorrow
there might be laughter there,
and the empty playground
will not seem so bare.

This Will All Be Mine
Where there are shadows
There will be light
You write that you know me
Youll wish that you were right
Fall into the playground
You wish that you are wiser
But I know
That one day
That this will all be mine
Now you give me reason
To answer you with lies
You thought your years were with you
Youre only sad not wise
So fall into the playground
You thought the game was yours
But I know
That one day
That this will all be mine
Yes I know
That one day
That this will all be mine
Be mine
Be mine

Acting is playing - it's actually going out on a playground with the other kids and being in the game, and I need that. Writing satisfies that part of myself that longs to sit in my room and dream.

Artistic
Artistic
It's artistic
Grace in your movement
Is artistic.
Artistic
It's artistic
Sweetness in your voice
Is artistic.
Artistic
It's artistic
Gleam in your eye
Is artistic.
I'm filled with inspiration
In my dormant artistic pursuit...
With brush in hand
I'll paint your every move
With hidden treasure of words
I'll weave poems of what you say
And I'll move as you command
By the gleam of your eye.

Suzy-hang-around
Suzy was nine and I was ten
Right at the time when boys like to think theyre men
She used to follow us at school
We really thought that she was a little fool
And one day we said to her
We dont want to hurt you girl
But youd better
Look for a friend of your own, suzy-hang-around
Better come back when youre grown, suzy-hang-around
Nobody wants you around here and thats for sure
So get off our playground and stay away
Thats all that weve got to say
Suzy-hang-around
Suzy ran home to mamas arms
Mama said look, shes never done you no harm
So get off her back and let her be
Why cant you play together in harmony?
We really didnt know what to say
But as soon as she went away
We laughed and said
Look for a friend of your own, suzy-hang-around
Better come back when youre grown, suzy-hang-around
Nobody wants you around here and thats for sure
So get off our playground and stay away
Thats all that weve got to say
Suzy-hang-around
Yes youd better
Look for a friend of your own, suzy-hang-around
Better come back when youre grown, suzy-hang-around
Nobody wants you around here and thats for sure
So get off our playground and stay away

The playground.
We are the kids in the playground of plastic man,
Swing sets, sand pits, climbing ladders, down,
Sliding frames, see saw and the hide and seek,
The life and the play ground are alike.
Two sit on the see saw and looking at each other,
Going up and down, the life becomes boring rather,
If one gets down, the other will slam down faster,
In life's playground, people separate cooler and harsher.
Playing swing is fun for the sitting, not for the pushing,
Some sit and enjoy and the rest push punctually until the ending,
Sand pits are small, where we are not hurt, but get dirt,
A closed community, where has no space for peace and growth.
Everything that done in the dark will be exposed in simple light,
Everything that hidden will be shown in the soul flight,
Nothing is hidden for ever to seek, but seeking is a game,
Everyone of us delight, to find the lies or truth of the shame.
Everyone of us rushing to the ladder, crowded at the slope,
Not many can climb, never can climb, waiting with hope,
Then one by one to the top to see the glamorous playground,
Then sit and slide slowly and steadily to land on the sand.

Outshining the Sun.
Bob West said
why are you always
looking towards
the girl's playground?
Looking for someone
you replied
who? Bob asked
A girl who gets
on my school bus
Bob pulled a face
and combed
his black oily hair
is she good looking?
Like an angel
you said
and peered
at the playground
across the way
where girls were
skipping or walking
in pairs
See her yet?
Bob asked
no not yet
you muttered
wishing you had
hoping she'd come
into view
don't see any point in girls
Bob said
putting his comb away
in a top pocket
wiping his hands
on his grey trousers
my dad said
they're only after two things
money and babies
steer away from them Bob
he said
you watched
as girls moved
about the playground
each dressed in grey skirts
and green tops
haven't you ever
been moved by a girl?
You asked
moved? Bob said
moved?
Ain't no girl
going to move me
he muttered
spit hanging
on his lower lip
like a suicidal
waiting to jump
what's this angel girl got
that's so special?
He said taking out
a handkerchief
and wiping his brow
I don't know
you replied
and as you said it
you saw her
come in to view
outshining the sun
more beautiful
than summer
and staring at you.

Don't You Know?
despite my love for it
writing also gets tiresome
my seat is hot
because i've been sitting
for a long time
my head is on fire
my soul is burning
my heart is that burning
bush that Moses watched
those that see me here
only see a body sitting on
the cushioned gray computer
chair, hands running like a child
on the playground of keys
as though everything is
alright on the park
even without the teacher
or the mother
it as though there is no
problem
but really there are
in fact too many
the writing seemingly
not diminishing
nothing solved
my ring finger actually aches.

Language Of Love
I want your flesh and blood
And to feel your heart pumping hard
I want to tell my story to your eyes
I want to watch you react
To me baby
Maybe Im dreaming
I got to do something
We may be on the same planet
Living in different worlds
Do you speak the language of love
Living in the touch of your fingers
Are you the passionate type
Is this a natural thing
Do you speak the language of love
Second hand emotional trigger
In the devils playground
Hear the church bells ring
I speak the language of love
I speak the language of love
Shes my great obsession
And the girl likes me too
I think she has the wrong impression
She thinks I want to be friends
Maybe Im dreaming
I better do something
We might be on the same planet
But talk different tongues
Do you speak the language of love
Living in the touch of your fingers
Are you the passionate type
Is this a natural thing
Do you speak the language of love
Second hand emotional trigger

The playground of life
My childhood was rare
Before the nightmares and fears
Brothers, sisters, friends
Running, jumping, climbing
Enjoying the freedom of being a kid
We explored the beauty
Of the countryside
Its creeks, crystal clear
Trees in abundance to climb
Sharing secrets with sisters
Giggling and laughing
Just playing in the sun
We did this in secret
Before mum and dad came home
Bothe of them working
To give us a roof, cloths and food
We explored in our own playground
The playground of life
We conquered the world
And swung like Tarzan
Pretended we won
A war in a chant
Now as I stand on the banks
Of my childhood field
I remember the laughter
And playing in the sun
And smile with a tear
Wishing I was a child once again

Young Cleopatra
I see them offering you gum
I hear the swarming schoolkids hum
A tribe of polyester warriors spellbound
They bring you offerings to please
Like cigarettes or new lps
Youll have them on their knees and begging
Just to play with your comb
One glance from those two eyes
Will seal your playground empire
My oh my, what a sight for sore eyes, young cleopatra
My oh my, what a wonderful prize, young cleopatra
Youll never be a queen unless you do as youre told
You wouldnt understand it being fourteen years old
Dont ever give your love for free
But then again, dont even let it be sold
You have your teachers in a trap
Theres no age limit or no gap
To who you set alight with firebombs, .........
Im glad your father is my friend
And now that school is at an end
Hes only an excuse for me
To wait here at your palace gates
One glance from those two eyes
Will seal your playground empire
Your school uniform looks grey on others and silver on you
Your yellow wooden rule a golden sceptre to prove its true
Youre at the youth club near the drums
The young guitarist buzzer strums
Anything his royal majesty wishes
Your borrowed perfume fills the air
Pale nostrils start to flare
Its more than some can bear
But this is your court and they are your dogs
One glance from those two eyes
Will seal your playground empire
