The oppression of any people for opinion's sake has rarely had any other effect than to fix those opinions deeper, and render them more important.

It is often more important to act than to understand... there are times... when two conflicting opinions, though one happens to be right, are more perilous than one opinion which is wrong.

Only The Brave One
Only the brave one can smile though not winning only the brave are gracious in defeat
Only the brave one though seen as successful never does show any sign of conceit
If for some reason from the Queen you do not accept a knighthood that does not prove lack of grace on your part
That only proves that you are a good person that you are one who does follow your heart
You've proved yourself in the heat of the battle and you became a hero when the war was won
It has been said that your victims were many but everyone you killed was some mother's son
Many see you as a brave ageing hero a hero once and a hero today
But I am not one who agrees with the many I look at life in a different way
On what is brave I do have my opinions but that doesn't mean my opinions are right
I've never discharged a gun at another for God or Country I never would fight
Maybe I do seem off in my opinions but that's your opinion and that suits me fine
You belong to what's known as majority thinking but are your opinions much better than mine
Only the brave one will speak for the oppressed one that's my opinion though I'm far from brave
But fear is a thing that helps me to keep living I fear the coldness of the earthy grave.

I like the idea that people have formed their own opinions. And of course once people meet me or talk to me their opinion totally changes because I'm much more that girl that you hang out with than you think.

It rarely adds anything to say, ""In my opinion"" - not even modesty. Naturally a sentence is only your opinion; and you are not the Pope.

My mother always taught me, even my dad, just never let other people's opinions of you shape your opinion of yourself. And I never have and I never will.

I was really involved with other people's opinions of me, and it got heightened during my film career. I don't have any opinion, good or bad about it, it just was. It's not the way I feel now, and I think yoga has a lot to do with that.

It's not important to how the band functions or to what we do. That's just many people's opinions on what they see. A lot of people project stuff on you, but that's okay.

I make up my opinions from facts and reasoning, and not to suit any body but myself. If people don't like my opinions, it makes little difference as I don't solicit their opinions or votes.

People who don't know me have opinions about me. That's the part that's very hurtful. Because how do you form an opinion about somebody if you've never met them or spent any time with them? So it's all based upon hearsay or things that they've read.

Some are not really causes
But just symptoms
And we misdiagnose
A sickness
For a symptom
Of the real sickness
The cause
And the effect
Are often interchanged
For instance
Is poverty the cause
Of crime
Or is poverty
Only the symptom
Of it?
For instance
Is ignorance
The cause of poverty
Or is it simply
An effect of poverty?
Or is poverty
Nothing but an effect
Of ignorance?
Or is poverty
Just an effect
Of an oppression
Of the rich
Taking much
From the poor
Who gets poorer
Everyday
Because there
Are no reforms
Coming
To solve
His poverty
His ignorance
His having to commit a crime
To survive
His poverty
His ignorance
His being a crime
Of
Society itself
who never cared
And wanted him
Who never
Instituted the much
Promised reforms?
And so you doubt
The cause and effect
The effect from cause
And if you did not mind so
Well
They may always be
Interchanged
And mistaken
For the symptoms
The conditions
That always
Are
there deceiving.

Everyone Have Their Opinions
Everyone have their opinions that's how it ought to be
And respect their opinions though with them you may not agree
As long as they respect human rights and a fair go for all
The difference between you and them to say the least is small.
Everyone have their opinions and no two quite the same
Even between those who are known to think alike some difference one can name
That's what makes us most interesting we all think differently
And you are very different so different to me.
Everyone have their own opinions a fact that is well known
And like 'tis said of him or her the words to each their own
To others opinions you should not react in a violent sort of a way
We must allow for difference and let them have their say.
Everyone have their opinions that fact with us remain
And as long with your opinions power over others you don't seek to gain
Though your opinions may be very different to mine
I respect your way of thinking and our difference suits me fine.

Invisible
Sometimes I wonder if I’m actually even here:
If the space where I am supposed to be is, indeed, just clear.
Stood in a queue, a man walked in, and got served first:
It makes me so annoyed, that I feel like I want to burst.
Do people just not actually see me standing there?
Or is it because I’m so quiet, they basically just don’t care?
People don’t seem to worry how long, I may have been waiting.
Although, my pushiness factor doesn’t score that high a rating!
Sometimes in the street, I say ‘hi! ’ to people who I see,
But they don’t even react and just look straight through me.
When a guard on a train enters my carriage, and shouts ‘Tickets please! ’
How come he bypasses me and it’s only everyone else he sees?
When a person acknowledges that I was next in line, I’m very grateful,
But people who push in front of me, I find just very hateful.
When people queue jump, maybe I look the type, who won’t say anything,
And, maybe, that makes them feel important, just like a king.
If going round a room asking for input, a teacher got sidetracked,
Very rarely, to me, to ask for my opinion, would they come back.
Everyone is important, and everyone really matters.
If people are ignored, their confidence gets battered.
Doesn’t it ever matter to you, what I may think?
I always seem to be the invisible missing link!
If people can see and if, in their head, they’ve got eyes.
The fact that I’m stood there, how can they not realise?
Feeling invisible most of the time is certainly no joke;
I sometimes feel as if I’m wearing an invisibility cloak!
But, when I did my drama exam, I wasn’t ignored,
And, my sense of being, up to the sky, really soared.
That was my moment: it was my moment in time,
And I took the opportunity to prove, that I really could shine.
Maybe I just need to learn to appear as though I’m bold,
So as I no longer feel that I’m being left out in the cold.

One Day
The deeper and deeper I fall, deeper and deeper I seek,
Deeper and deeper I try and deeper and deeper I need
Forgive me
4x
And all I see is your face
2x
The deeper and deeper I fall, deeper and deeper I seek
Deeper and deeper I try, the deeper and deeper I need
The deeper and deeper I fail, deeper and deeper I read
Deeper and deeper I cry, the deeper and deeper I feed
Caught up in this game of life, me against you
Not doing what I should, just the things that I want to
So wrapped up, terrified of what I become
Outside Im laughing, inside Im numb
I cant see the light because it blinds me
Try to forget but my past always remidns me
Exposed, looked on by eyes of grace
Im so ashamed, dont look at my face
All I see is your face
4x
Get up by your strength, I rise up to thee
But Ill stay on my face if you will of me
Shape and mold me til your though
Humble myself, life laid down before you
I need your wisdom, so the truth I keep on living
And your love will always be a part of me
Cant do a thing, if I aint living for the kind
So dont ever leave or take your eyes off me
Its not who you are its who youre living for
Trials and tribulations will come

Bystander
I am a bystander, a spectacle myself,
Who harms only when desired, fully desired;
I keep a stout opinion, after the love of another,
Minor opinions are aroused, after the love of people.
I lead and you expel, from the fountain that springs
From the earth so hot and angry, a bath has shaped
From my authority to celebrate the young nation.
By itself, a well has grown to expel and expulsion
Is wrong, too incorrect, for the water is not dirty.
A bath is my conjecture, the factor of worship,
Opinion after ideas fashions us afterwards.

Deeper, Dig Deeper
Deeper, dig deeper
Deeper, deeper, dig, dig, deeper, deeper
Get a little closer
You dont have to be afraid
You have to trust your inner pilot
Dont let it drift away
Dig a little deeper
You gotta get it in your soul
Reach out with your spirit
And let your feelings show
Deeper, deeper, dig, dig, deeper, deeper
You cant deny the feeling
That touches you inside
When youre tired and lonely
You dont have to lose your pride.
Take the time to listen
Stay a little while
Got a song to sing for you
Let the music get you higher, higher.

Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most People are even incapable of forming such opinions.
