Let yourself be open and life will be easier. A spoon of salt in a glass of water makes the water undrinkable. A spoon of salt in a lake is almost unnoticed.

Could fill spoons full of gold.
Just a little spoon of your precious love
Will satisfy my soul.
Men lies about it.
Some of them cries about it.
Some of them dies about it.
Everythings a-fightin about the spoonful.
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful.

Mimics in a kitchenette
A spoon in the rack
Beside sugar and salt jars.
Spoon mutters;
'I love both of you and you're like twins
But it complicates me without tasting you
How do I jump to the old Master's
Cup of Tea?
Kettle whistles and the Master still asleep.'
Parrot in the cage whispers;
'On holidays Master won't wake up early.'
Then who poured water into the kettle? '
'Don't you know Master brought a sweet *bride last night.'

Salt Lake City
Down in utah
The guys and I dig a city called salt lake
Its got the grooviest kids
Thats why we never get tired of salt lake
And the way the kids talk so cool
Is an out of sight thing
And the number one radio station
Makes the town really swing yeah
Salt lake city well be coming soon
Theres a park near the city, yeah
All the kids dig the lagoon now
Its full of all kinds of girls
And rides and well be flyin there soon now
And girl for girl
Theyve got the cutest of the western states
They got the sun in the summer
And winter time the skiing is great yeah

A Question
whatever detests upon yourself
cannot just be simply removed by you
and you say, this is not me
there is no denial about your dual nature
both evil and good
mixed in one glass like salt and water
if you remove one from the other
you shall not be the same again
not your taste, not you anymore
and you ask: what is real? the salt alone?

A Glass Of Water Please
and so the story wants to end itself with a
glass of water.
those who cry after always need
a glass of water.
those whose hearts are broken
those who sob
those who close the window of the niche
those who have nightmares
those who wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning
those who sit on bed and cannot sleep back
always go to the kitchen
open the refrigerator
get a glass and splash
a cold glass of water
this time, i am asking for a glass of water
for i could be
all of the above or you could be one of those
i have described
but who knows we are not one of those
who knows
we are but just anyone who is normally thirsty
and with nothing to ask
simply ask
for a glass of cold water.
and cheerfully, we do not forget to say
please....

Born Without A Silver Spoon
I was born without a silver spoon.
On a raining day in the month of june.
We lived in a face me and face you,
it was a crowded neighbourhood.
Born without a silver spoon.
To have a three square meal
is like wishing for the moon.
Many times we bed the night,
cold night without food.
Without a silver spoon.
My father struggled me through school.
Primary, secondary and university
education i made it through.
A silver spoon.
My wish which must come true.
For i dream of it everday.
Think about those moves i'll make.
Praying to God for steps to take.
Though i was born without
silver spoon.
Yet if heaven be true,
my family's pain will not be vain.
I was born without a silver spoon
shall be erased.
To my generations it shall be a tale.
And only a silver spoon shall remain.

Me-Stew
I have nothing to put in my stew, you see,
Not a bone or a bean or a black-eyed pea,
So I'll just climb in the pot to see
If I can make a stew out of me.
I'll put in some pepper and salt and I'll sit
In the bubbling water--I won't scream a bit.
I'll sing while I simmer, I'll smile while I'm stewing,
I'll taste myself often to see how I'm doing.
I'll stir me around with this big wooden spoon
And serve myself up at a quarter to noon.
So bring out your stew bowls,
You gobblers and snackers.
Farewell--and I hope you enjoy me with crackers!

Mabel Osborne
Your red blossoms amid green leaves
Are drooping, beautiful geranium!
But you do not ask for water.
You cannot speak! You do not need to speak --
Everyone knows that you are dying of thirst,
Yet they do not bring water!
They pass on, saying:
"The geranium wants water."
And I, who had happiness to share
And longed to share your happiness;
I who loved you, Spoon River,
And craved your love,
Withered before your eyes, Spoon River --
Thirsting, thirsting,
Voiceless from chasteness of soul to ask you for love,
You who knew and saw me perish before you,
Like this geranium which someone has planted over me,
And left to die.

Song Of A Baker - Originally By The Small Faces
Theres wheat in the field
And water in the stream
And salt in the mine
And an aching in me
I can no longer stand and wonder
cos Im driven by this hunger
So Ill jug some water
Bake some flour
Store some salt and wait the hour
While Im thinking of love
Love is thinking for me
And the baker will come
And the baker Ill be
I am depending on my labour
The texture and the flavour

Spoon
Spoon in spoon
Stirring my coffee
I think of you
And turn to the gate
But on my way
Came up with the answers
Scratched my head
And the answers were gone
From hand to hand
Wrists to the elbow
Red blood sand
Could dad be god
Crosses cross
Hung out like a wet rag
Forgive you why
You hung me out to dry
Maybe Im a little crazy
But laughing out loud
Makes it all pass by
Maybe youre a little crazy
But laughing out loud
Makes it all subside
Holding, Im holding
Falling, Im still falling
Spoon in spoon
Stirring my coffee
I think of this
And turn to the gate
But on my way
Crack lightening and thunder
Hid my head
And the storm slipped away
Maybe Im a little crazy
But laughing out loud
Makes it all pass by
Maybe youre a little crazy
But laughing out loud
Makes it all all right
Laughing out loud
(alanis)
From time to time
Minutes and hours
Some move ahead
While some lag behind
Like the baloon that rise
And then vanish
This drop of hope
That falls from his eye
(dave)
Spoon in spoon
Stirring my coffee
I think of this
And turn to go away
But as I walk
The voices behind me say
Sinners sin
Come now and play
Laughing out loud
Come now and play.

Look through a Wider Lens
A slight adversity like a storm,
one small problem like thunder,
terribly shakes us and makes us wonder:
what could I do? How can I cope
with enormous pain,
and the dwindling hope?
The more I feel the worse my pain,
the problems look much more, bigger
than they really are perhaps,
and bouts of panic they eventually trigger.
One friend told me, “There is a way.
At the world, look through a wider lens,
and I bet you won't ever be tense.”
And he told me a story that
makes a whole lot of sense.
One student,
restless and quite disturbed,
approached his teacher, who said,
“Put a tablespoon of salt
in a glass of water and drink.
Is it salty? ” the teacher blinked.
Replied the student, “Yes, I think! ”
“Now pour the same quantity
of salt into the water,
bubbling from that spring
through the ground in the front,
and drink it and tell me how it tastes”
asked the teacher.
”No taste! ” was the student’s reply.
“Ah, the problem is not the salt,
but the container, ” said the teacher,
“So make it bigger.”
How aloof and self-absorbed
you often feel with your problems
in your utter dismay entirely sealed?
Just look at the world and sufferings
before your eyes with a kind heart;
your own problems will look so meager.
Your body chemistry, your life will start
to change, and you will learn
to live with your problems.
If you feel down, just step outside yourself
and in turn devote a few hours to help
every day a person or an animal:
you will know its immediate effect-this is a fact.
So look through a wider lens,
and you will create incredible resilience.

~~Setting For One~
Hot water splashing, over food-soiled dishes, like dirty dancing
Water lapping, pooling along the gritty face of corning ware
Forks, knives and spoons drowning - water advancing
This chore intimate, warm – wet, my nightly affair
~~
I could use paper plates – no, that’s a soggy hell
But then no need for Joy Liquid, my nightly cologne
I prefer the upscale squeaky clean of Corelle
One plate, glass, fork, knife, and spoon – each bathes alone
~~
Emptying the dishpan, water swirls, hurling down the drain
Gurgling, almost giggling dirty water, exiting the scene
A little slimy residue on stainless steel still remains
No one will notice – this is my solitary domain…
~~
So it goes with a setting for one...

4. Elements – Water
Water an elemental
Water a fundamental
Building block of life
Water of Life
Water of Death
Water in all religions
Water in all living things
Water in all countries
Water also used for barter
No life without water
No rife with water
No respect for water
Willful neglect of water
Water, for cooking
Water, for cleaning
Water, for drinking
Water, for living
Water, for dying
Water is the same
In all languages
Water is the same
To all living beings

The Nurse
The nurse should not be the one who puts salt in your wounds
But it's always with trust that the poison is fed with a spoon
When you're helpless with no one to turn to, alone in your room
you would swear that the one who would care for you never would leave
She promised and said you would always be safe ehre with me
But promises open the door to be broken to me
No I'm never, no I'm never, no I'm never
gonna let you down (4x)
The maid that you've hired could never conspire to kill
She's to mother, not quiet, to smother you when you're most ill
The one that you're trusting, suspiciously dusting the sill
No I'm never, no I'm never, no I'm never
gonna let you down now (4x)

Italian Plastic
I bring you plates from rome
You say they look fantastic
I say were having fun
Nothing like that italian plastic
I bring you rocks and flowers
You say they look pathetic
You pick me up at night
I dont feel pathetic
When you wake up with me
Ill be your glass of water
When you stick up for me
Then youre my bella bambina
I say were on a trip
Looks like were on vacation
I say were having fun
In our little constellation
When you wake up with me
Ill be your glass of water
When you stick up for me
Then Ill be your bella bambino, your man from the moon
Ill be your little boy running with that egg on his spoon
Ill be your soul surviver, your worst wicked friend
Ill be your piggy in the middle, stick with you till the end
When you wake up with me
Ill be your glass of water
When you stick up for me
The youre my bella bambina

Delight In The Ocean
To your delight a fall has endured itself
And destroy it by flying, this life is for flight
Into the heavens as fast as speed itself.
Fade an ocean on its bed under the very water,
Go there tonight when no one is listening,
Perfect strategies recall a timing, a sound
That water makes and defines,
The powers are few in the sight of oceans,
Kiss a merman or mermaid as the case presents,
From a sacred oath do find these creatures
Along the rivers as well,
Always their movement manages food and drink of water
And salt.
To your delight, my ears jostle with hearing of your voice.
