By means of tracing-paper I transfer my design to the wood and draw on that.

Not To Molest The Trees

do not use wood
in a sense do not cut a tree
do not use paper
in a sense do not write anything there
try using this computer
do not bother the paper the wood the trees
do not bother the pen either
there might be papery in there
like ink from wood like sap from a tree

we were born with thoughts and ideas
great minds

there was no paper in our mouth inside our brains
no trees cut by the axe in our hands
the worlds much safer then
and colder and fresher
and shady

and grassy and flowery
moonlighted and free

Lesson in Perspective #1

Art students learn early on
what perspective means
by dint of practice

ONE POINT PERSPECTIVE
An imaginary vanishing point
on the horizon takes on life
as students draw vertical lines
angling toward a meeting
at some distant point
far off the drawing paper

TWO POINT PERSPECTIVE
Pencil and straight edge
suffice as students put
pencil to paper drawing
cylinders in square boxes
like skeletons in coffins
floating on white sheets

STILL LIFE HOMEWORK
Lesson ends as students
are assigned to draw
a study done in pen
and india ink
of three cylinders
transformed into creamer,
cup and coffee pitcher
nestled together
in a still life

It Is Simple

when you draw a man
on your paper
do not complicate him
let him have hands
a head
a belly
let him have two legs
and two feet

do not try giving him
fingers and toes
and start tracing
the lines of his
palms
and pores of his skin
his hair
and eyebrows and
eyelids

he would not like it
the particulars
are his alone
his secrets
his struggles to define himself
apart from the rest

in doing so
you let him be
a man to complete himself
self-made
with pride to provide the missing parts
his past buried
in his muscles
his hopes intricately woven
in his nerves

it simple enough
let him have too his solitude
a secret cabinet
for his bullets and pistol
and rage

The Sketching Class

I had a sketching class today,
Actually it was free, I did not pay
To draw a very naked man,
Who posed in his altogether tan.
I started with him forward facing,
But I' m not much good, I'm better at 'tracing',
So the tutor took me under his 'wing',
But even then I could not draw his 'thing',
So I moved my chair, face looking 'red',
And drew his brown buttocks instead,
So therefore, now it has been revealed,
Anatomy is not my field,
Drawing private parts, although quite OK,
I'll save up for another day.
Next week a 'still life' I will do,
Which I think is more sensible, don't you.

Design is the method of putting form and content together. Design, just as art, has multiple definitions; there is no single definition. Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that's why it is so complicated.

Tracing

Do you ever get the feeling
that were starting in the middle
or do u ever have the sense
that we are lying just a little
I mean come on
its not like we have known ourselves that long
and I cant say I really blame you
for being bored with the beginning
always staring at the score
to figure out whose barely winning
but dont you know
that there is a reason strong moves slow
and I'm ok.. if you're ok.. with wasting time
but when you trace
you always see the bottom line
we are tracing... I hope you know... we are tracing
and if you want to know the moment
I knew that I was still alone
I found I never learned your number
I only stored it in my phone
You think by now
I'd know the shape of calling home..
And I'm ok.. if you're ok.. with wasting time
and when you trace
you always see the bottom line..
we are tracing.. I hope you know.. We are tracing
were both alone..
we are tracing
Did you ever get the feeling
that we started in the middle
or do u ever have the sense
that we are lying just a little
I mean come on
its not like we knew ourselves that long

Burnt Paper

it is a cut-out paper
thin
delicate white
sharp

it is my world
apart from yours

i stay away from
rain

put my paper feet
on wood

as you pretend to be
the woman of
my pen

you touch
but what you touch is just
my paper
me

i have no more flesh
no bone

the years have eaten them
all

it cut-out from a shape
of your desire

i am burnt.

No Matter How Outsiders May Look At It

I've done the best I could.
But no matter how outsiders may look at it,
To say what I did or did not do for anyone else.
There are some things I am still unable to do!
With an awakening done to realize,
What it is I 'can' prioritize.

I can not transfer over to another,
My motivation.
I can not transfer over to another,
My devotion and discipline.
I can not transfer over to another,
Reason and purpose with a drive to accomplish.
I can not transfer over to another,
An ability to wait patiently while sacrificing time.
I can not transfer over to another,
The pain that is felt when someone else...
Has time to criticize AND character assassinate,
My efforts and abilities I had volunteered in the past...
With a deception that is effortless.
And for them convenient to ensure its effectiveness.
To be able to survive,
Dancing through that kind of ammunition...
Is a miracle of God's I can not re-create.

And...
Do I seek to abandon my peace of mind,
I was blessed to find while recovering from exhaustion...
And diseases that came to feed on me as if I was a treat?
I'll give you a hint.
Get out of my face!
Go solicit your act of 'Together We Are Stronger If We Unify'...
Somewhere else.
I am 'still' a work -in-progress trying to associate forgiveness,
With a forgetting I can not seem to be able to eliminate.

But...
One never knows what the future holds!
Does one?

Design, in its broadest sense, is the enabler of the digital era - it's a process that creates order out of chaos, that renders technology usable to business. Design means being good, not just looking good.

I Broke It All In Two

How could I have been so cruel
After all you've done for me
I should go back to school
To learn
The ways
Of love
I see the tables turn
Please don't desert me now
I acted like a fool
I know
I just stumble
Through the night
I pushed you way too far
Though you're my guiding star
I broke it all in two (broke it all in two)
Like a row of paper chains (a row of paper chains)
My heart's not made of stone (heart's not made of stone)
Though it seems to be that way
Baby, what can I say?
You mean the world to me
Don't throw it all away
I promise
I'll change
One day
I pushed you way too far
Though you're my guiding star
I broke it all in two (broke it all in two)
Like a row of paper chains (a row of paper chains)
My heart's not made of stone (heart's not made of stone)
Though it seems to be that way (my heart's not made of stone)
I pushed you way too far
Though you're my guiding star

Like a row of paper chains (a row of paper chains)
My heart's not made of wood (heart's not made of wood)
Though it seems to be that way
(heart of woo-oooh-ood)
(heart of woo-oooh-ood)

Paper And Pen

Paper and pen
Trying to write a song again
Paper and pen
Paper and pen

Paper and pen
Trying to write a song again
Paper and pen
Paper and pen

Can’t think of anything to say today
Can’t think of anything to do
Can’t think of anything to play today
Minds gone blank
Leaving me here, just sitting here
Listening to my hair grow

Paper and pen
Paper and pen

And I look towards you
For an inspiration or a word or two
I try but I find
Every road only leads me back to these lines

Paper and pen
Paper and pen

Paper and pen
Piano, guitar
I try but don't get very far
Paper and pen
Piano, guitar

Paper and pen
Trying to write a song again
Paper and pen
Paper and pen

Through The Wood

THROUGH the wood, the green wood, the wet wood, the light wood,
Love and I went maying a thousand lives ago;
Shafts of golden sunlight had made a golden bright wood
In my heart reflected, because I loved you so.

Through the wood, the chill wood, the brown wood, the bare wood,
I alone went lonely no later than last year,
What had thinned the branches, and wrecked my dear and fair wood,
Killed the pale wild roses and left the rose-thorns sere?

Through the wood, the dead wood, the sad wood, the lone wood,
Winds of winter shiver through lichens old and grey,
You ride past forgetting the wood that was our own wood
All our own--and withered as ever a flower of May.

The Heart You Know

The heart you know
In case you forgot
It’s a thing children draw
Usually coloured in red
It’s a thing that pulses
And never beats around the bush
Usually says what it feels
It’s something I wonder whether you have

The heart you know
It’s a thing you can draw
On a white piece of paper
And erase it
Until it becomes as pale as a sheet
Until the paper becomes as torn as a heart

The heart you know
In case you forgot
It’s a thing I wonder
Whether you’ve ever had

Drawing A River

when you draw a river
the river begins
to draw also a fish
the fish shall
sketch a moss
the moss
paints the missing
green

then you have what
your river wants
a place where you
want to
ponder about a sky

come to think again
now draw
a very white sky
take a pen and a very
wide paper....
