The Divine Image

To Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
All pray in their distress;
And to these virtues of delight
Return their thankfulness.

For Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
Is God our Father dear,
And Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
Is man, His child and care.

For Mercy has a human heart,
Pity, a human face,
And Love, the human form divine,
And Peace, the human dress.

Then every man, of every clime,
That prays in his distress,
Prays to the human form divine,
Love, Mercy, Pity, Peace.

And all must love the human form,
In heathen, Turk, or Jew;
Where Mercy, Love, and Pity dwell
There God is dwelling too.

Mercy, Mercy

The man in the moon has a thousand different faces
The man in the mood changes colors each day
Hes watching us all, the big and the small
(oh can he see) just you and me
Searching for my destiny
Mercy, mercy
Youve got to have pity on me
Have mercy on me
Mercy, mercy
Wanna be free and happy
Have mercy on me
Do you believe we can travel to the future
Do you believe theres a man in the sky
Were making him sad, the good and the bad
(oh can he see) just you and me
Searching for my destiny
Mercy, mercy
Youve got to have pity on me
Have mercy on me
Mercy, mercy
Wanna be free and happy
Have mercy on me
I dont wanna be just one of many faces
I want you looking at me
Sit down and take a look, put me into motion
Give me something to believe
Mercy, mercy
Youve got to have pity on me
Have mercy on me
Mercy, mercy
Youve got to have pity on me
Have mercy on me
Mercy, mercy
Youve got to have pity on me
Have mercy on me
Mercy, mercy
Youve got to have pity on me
Have mercy on me

I Heard an Angel

I heard an Angel singing
When the day was springing,
'Mercy, Pity, Peace
Is the world's release.'

Thus he sung all day
Over the new mown hay,
Till the sun went down
And haycocks looked brown.

I heard a Devil curse
Over the heath and the furze,
'Mercy could be no more,
If there was nobody poor,

And pity no more could be,
If all were as happy as we.'
At his curse the sun went down,
And the heavens gave a frown.

Down pour'd the heavy rain
Over the new reap'd grain ...
And Miseries' increase
Is Mercy, Pity, Peace.

That Pity B-Gone!

Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!

Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!

We knew that pity had to split!
B-gone.
We knew that our hearts would split, and soon...
B-gone.
If we let that pity sit,
Between us....
Both of us would have a fit.
If we let that pity sit,
Both of us would have a fit.
If we let that pity sit...
Between us!

And...
You'd believe,
That I could never love you.
To leave me feeling sorry,
And blue.

But...
I would know,
How deep inside my love goes.
And protecting what I love,
Before it overflows.

Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!

So...
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And maybe not so much the benefits.
Since I would miss too much your many moods.

That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone!

The Two Songs

I heard an Angel Singing
When the day was springing:
"Mercy, pity, and peace,
Are the world's release."

So he sang all day
Over the new-mown hay,
Till the sun went down,
And the haycocks looked brown.

I heard a devil curse
Over the heath and the furse:
"Mercy vould be no more
If there were nobody poor,
And pity no more could be
If all were happy as ye:
And mutual fear brings peace,
Misery's increase
Are mercy, pity, and peace."

At his curse the sun went down,
And the heavens gave a frown.

Pity Those

TEETH ACHING WITH FEAR
STANDING IN FRONT OF ME
WASTING HUMAN FLESH

PITY THOSE WHO HAVE NO MERCY
NO KINDNESS

PITY THOSE
WHO MARCH US
TOWARD THE FIRE

THE SMOKE OF THEIR TORMENT
WILL GO UP FOREVER
PITY THOSE.

Have Mercy

Baby (baby.. mmm)
What can I do to make you forgive me
For ever cheating on you
See I was a fool, I plead insanity
I throw myself at your mercy
So do what you will with me
Have mercy, mercy, mercy on me
For cheatin on you
I dont know what I was thinking
Cause nobody could do me like you
Have mercy, mercy, mercy on me
For cheatin on you
I dont know what I was thinking
Cause nobody could do me like you
Lover, do you hear me
I took your love for granted but now I see, I see
I shouldve never let him in, I just misunderstood
When I thought hed give me what you already could
Have mercy, mercy, mercy on me
For cheatin on you
I dont know what I was thinking
Cause nobody could do me like you
Have mercy, mercy, mercy on me
For cheatin on you
I dont know what I was thinking
Cause nobody could do me like you
Yeah
Well-well-well-well
Alright...mmmmm-mmmm
Have mercy on me
Have mercy, mercy, mercy on me
For cheatin on you
I dont know what I was thinking
Cause nobody can do me like you

Pity, pity, pity

Look at to the unwanted child
Look at to the divorced wife
Look at to the homeless man
What people do other than saying
“Pity, pity, pity”

Look at to the tragic hero
Look at to the sympathized villain
Look at to the clueless victim
What witnesses do other than staring
“Pity, pity, pity”

Look at to the crazy dreamer
Look at to the unlucky gambler
Look at to the stubborn fighter
What friends do other than whispering
“Pity, pity, pity”

Look at to the withering flower
Look at to the starving animal
Look at to the extinct nature
What human do other than howling
“Pity, pity, pity”

Look at to the empty spaces
Look at to the blank faces
Look at to the lost traces
What devils do other than laughing
“Pity, pity, pity”

Being without mercy in all walks.

This Is Such A Pity

How is your heart little darling?
I didn't mean to get so mad.
Let me just hold you closely.
How did things get so bad?
I know how to pick on you.
You pushed me over the edge.
We caused so much agony.
We can't seem to move ahead.
This is such a pity.
We should give all our love to each other.
Not this hate that destroys us.
This is such a pity.
(This is a pity)
What kind of future will we have?
Will we we ever find peace?
Everybody thinks we're crazy.
They're about to call the police.
I don't wanna be a chump.
You think I'm a fascist pig.
Right now everything is black.
I don't think we'll get it.
This is such a pity.
We should give all our love to each other.
Not this hate that destroys us.
This is such a pity.
(This is a pity)
[solo]
This is such a pity.
We should give all our love to each other.
Not this hate that destroys us.
This is such a pity.
(This is a pity)

The Deserter

I know not why or whence he came
Or how he chanced to go;
I only know he brought me love,
And going, left me woe.

I do not ask that he turn back
Nor seek where he may rove,
For where woe rules can never be
The dwelling place of love.

For love went out the door of hope
And on and on has fled,
Caring no more to dwell within
The house where faith is dead.

I Come to Dwell In This Loneliness

I come to dwell in this loneliness.
It is my turn to do it as I wish!
I am not that far away from moonbeams,
And stars.
But right now I'd rather ponder my heart...
Where it is,
And who has a part!

I come to dwell in this loneliness.
Thinking of those I love...
And how much they are missed!
In a way I can only say,
As a poet can convey.

I come to dwell in this loneliness.
But torment and grief...
Is not what I am here treating!
I am remembering them,
With love that wont end!

I come to dwell in this loneliness.
It is my turn to do it as I wish!
And when I am finished,
I feel a burden lift!
Without agony relived...
Since I am aware,
Love is still there.
And for me I realize,
True love was shared!

I come to dwell in this loneliness.
And it's okay...
It does not stay.
Like the love that was known,
And remembered shown that way!

I come to dwell in this loneliness.
And when this period permits...
It will leave me lifted,
When it is done with its visit!

I come to dwell in this loneliness.
But not to hide...
Or become absorbed with it!
It is my turn to do it as I wish!
And when it departs,
It leaves a happiness in my heart!

Today... 'Father of mercies

God's great mercies are eternal
and extends to all those who call
upon His name and magnify
The Father of Mercies on high.

This Father of mercy and love
dwelling in the heavens above
came amongst us by virgin birth
born in a stable here on earth.

The redemption of sinful man
was part of His wonderful plan
when He died and then rose again
to show mercy to sinful man.

Mercy and Love

In order to know and love God as He is, we must have God dwelling in us in a new way, not only in His creative power but in His mercy. Thomas Merton, New Seeds of Contemplation.

Nothing I could do
would ever be enough
to make the dead-wood
live. Though the wind
and rain sever bright leaves,
tender blossoms from
the cherry tree, and the
birds themselves fly
from my anger,

I know
I could never
make it right,

though with tears I flood,
nourish with a
broken heart's blood

I am powerless.

Yet still these bruised stems,
thicken and split
to bud, spill green life,
fill the earth
with mercy
and love.

Sonnet: The Souls on the Streets at Night

Pity the beggar lying by roadside;
Pavement’s his bed; a stone, pillow for head!
With ill-clad children/wife scattered beside,
No one can tell if he’s alive or dead!

Pity the soul, whose dwelling is pavement,
Victim of men/ insects/beasts/ wind and rain!
His roof is formed by the vast firmament;
His only wealth- a begging bowl and cane!

Pity the street-children and people lost;
Their suff’ring’s endless, more so when diseased;
Nothing frightens them, not even a ghost;
There’s none to bury them, when they’re deceased.

Pity the man of poverty in street!
God dwells in him; God surely, will he meet.
