Commencement speeches were invented largely in the belief that outgoing college students should never be released into the world until they have been properly sedated.

I am here to give the American people some straight talk about higher education. Some have said we might have cut financial aid for college students. The truth is we have expanded access to college for our neediest students through the record growth of the Pell grant program.

The Pell Grant is more than a financial aid program for college students in need. It is the right thing to do for America's college students, and it is the right thing to do for America's economy.

Commencement speakers have a good deal in common with grandfather clocks Standing usually some six feet tall, typically ponderous in construction, more traditional than functional, their distinction is largely their noisy communication of essentially commonplace information.

To compete in a global economy, our students must continue their education beyond high school. To make this expectation a reality, we must give students the tools they need to succeed, including the opportunity to take a college entrance exam.

The progress
Cooking invented, I have lost my teeth.
Tools invented, I have lost my hands
Carts invented, I have lost my legs
Electricity invented, I have lost my sight.
Calculator invented, I have lost counting.
Computer invented, I have lost faculty
Internet come, I lost neigbours.
Is mankind on march to stability?

Duties Of A Teacher
The everyday duties of a teacher
Are as difficult as they can be,
Whether in an elementary or secondary school
Or whether the teacher is a he or she.
The teacher must possess a bundle of information,
A knowledge that will constantly shine,
And in addition must maintain class discipline
To keep all the students properly in line.
There are insurmountable number of questions
To be answered during every period of the day,
And test papers must be carefully graded when
The students leave and go merrily on their way.
The pleasures and encounters of an evening out
Are few and seldom to be socially shared,
Because the next day's lessons must have priority,
Be reviewed and lessons carefully prepared.
A dedicated teacher gets a personal satisfaction
In this cumbersome and timeless atmosphere.
The role of a teacher is vital in this complex world,
Preparing all students for a future career.

I Wanna Be Sedated
20-20-20-4 hours to go
i wanna be sedated
nothing to do, nowhere to go, oh
i wanna be sedated
just get me to the airport, put me on a plane
hurry,hurry,hurry before i go insane
i can't control my fingers, i can't control my brain
oh no, oh no, oh no
20-20-20-4 hours to go
i wanna be sedated
nothing to do, nowhere to go,oh
i wanna be sedated
just put me in a wheelchair, puy me on a plane
hurry hurry hurry before i go insane
i can't control my fingers, i can't control my brain
oh no oh no oh no
20-20-20-4 hours to go
i wanna be sedated
nothing to do, nowhere to go, oh
i wanna be sedated
just put me in a wheelchair, get me to the show
hurry hurry hurry before i cant let go
i can't control my fingers, i can't control my toes
oh no oh no oh no
ba-ba-baba, baba -ba-baba i wanna be sedated
ba-ba-baba, baba-ba-baba i wanna be sedated
ba-ba-baba, baba-ba-baba i wanna be sedated

At a time when going to college has never been more important, it's never been more expensive, and our nation's families haven't been in this kind of financial duress since the great depression. And so what we have is just sort of a miraculous opportunity simply by stopping the subsidy to banks when we already have the risk of loans. We can plow those savings into our students. And we can make college dramatically more affordable, tens of billions of dollars over the next decade.

We must get the American public to look past the glitter, beyond the showmanship, to the reality, the hard substance of things. And we'll do it not so much with speeches that sound good as with speeches that are good and sound; not so much with speeches that will bring people to their feet as with speeches that will bring people to their senses.
