Harry Truman

Most of the problems a President has to face have their roots in the past.

Problems (feat. Koffee Brown)

Problems
Problems with your girl today
Problems
Problems with your man today
situations hard to handle
got me goin out ofmy head
theres so much pressure
i just cant deal
you think its all about you
and that sex appeal
but i got problems
(slickin around on the "L" to the hotel all around town) let me know
(whos it gonna be him or me)
it cant be three
problems
problems with your girl today
problems
problems with your girl today
here we are
the two of us together
takin this crazy chance
to be all alone
my man dont know
that we been lovin eachother
cuz if he found out
we'll have nothin
nothin but
Problems
problems with your man today
problems
problems with your man today
problems
problems with your man today
problems
problems with your man today
said can i get a witness
so many problems
can i get a witness
can i get a witness
so many problems
can i get a witness

The Snakes I Have Angered

Life is full of problems that we all must face
As we wander through life trying to find our place.
With time and practice we learn the ways that work
And how to find solutions that don't make us look like a jerk.
Problems are like snakes who sometimes want to share our home.
They sneak in without warning and won't leave us alone.
They can hide so quickly and move around so fast
The present often gets tangled up with the memories of the past.
A face to face meeting can be full of fright and pain
But I must take some action or find someone to blame.
To cut off a snake's tail only makes him see red.
To solve the problems I must cut off the head.
Family and friends make easy targets to hit on
When I can't face my problems or want to call it quits
But now it has become plain for me to see
The meanest snake I have angered sometimes lives in me.

Hidden Roots

In Memory Of My Late Brother
William Verdun Harris
1941 - 2003

Today my mind seemed everywhere,
but on the job, I was doing.
It started in my childhood
and moved into my teenage years
and finally into my adulthood.
Along the way examining the roots
I had laid down all those years ago.
Unfortunately, they were not firm roots
and I drifted from here to there,
my heart never settling in any place I wanted as a home.
Within me, there was a struggle
and I knew not why, then it surfaced
in between the pages of a letter that came from far away.
It told me something
that at first I could not believe,
of how part of my past had been closeted from me.
I knew then where my roots lay
in a land far across the sea.
I travelled to meet my past,
but sadly, before I could cement those hidden roots
they were gone and part of me was taken away.
Now I often wonder what might happen years before
if I had known about those hidden roots.
How different would my life have been?
There is no way of telling
as I learned to late about those roots
and time has now run out.

Technology causes problems as well as solves problems. Nobody has figured out a way to ensure that, as of tomorrow, technology won't create problems. Technology simply means increased power, which is why we have the global problems we face today.

Entangled By Old Roots

time knows how to choke a face
like yours
time like roots of the banyan tree
smothers a face like yours

and you let it be
as you close your eyes and surrender
to this kind of death that for all these years
you have been asking
in your hundred patient prayers

your face is this stone
and these roots have entangled
what you do not really own

Problems

I have problems, and you have problems
Let's make problems with our problems
When I'm the problem you're the problem
But we know where the problem for one another

I start my day by any other way
Looking under my bed for the metallic crate
Encrypted with a steel isomorphic key
Projecting documents enveloped with two words

"Today's problems"

When I have no problems I make more problems
To entwine the world with inventive problems
What would we do if we did not have problems?
Neglect our security for hypothesizing new problems

Problems, Problems, Problems

An exegesis of problems
Categorized and productized
In rationale arrangements
Ontologically customized
Parasitically neurological
And involuntarily exercised

I empty the glass and make if full
To furbish the center that never holds
Happiness elixirs baseless catchment
Percolating vertices of inverted orphans

So what's the problem?

Insulting?

I guess you have to be
a mighty president
to have your face on money,
even on one cent.

But all the paper money
that they're printing now
seems to me insulting
to a president's face somehow.

I'm Glad I Live Here

America has its problems
Soldiers sacrificing lives for others
Apart from their families for so long
Living every day in a foreign land
But I’m glad I live here

America has its problems
So many people without homes
Living on the streets desperate for shelter
Cold and sick they suffer each day
But I’m glad I live here

America has its problems
Countless people in poverty
Families unable to pay for their needs
Begging for help from others and the government
But I’m glad I live here

America has its problems
Illegal immigrants in our country
Working the jobs many of us refuse
Causing an uproar all around
But I’m glad I live here

America has its problems
Extremely high gas prices
Drivers unable to afford anything else
Because gas prices leave a hole in their pockets
But I’m glad I live here

America has its problems
Disputes over the current president
Whether he’s doing well running the country
Many disputes between Democrats and Republicans
But I’m glad I live here

Sorrow Seeks...

Sorrow Seeks...

Sorrow seeks...
Like the roots of weeds
And as the roots grow deeper
the weight descends
Like gnarled hands grasping at your throat
Choking out the beauty within

A dandelion with a face that glows of golden sun
But within the soil it's roots grow so deep
With one pluck you think it is gone for good
Only to return stronger than before
Sorrow seeks...
Like the roots of weeds

Henry Ferris

Henry Ferris,
My name is Barry and i am the joy of your hope;
For today you have met the 44th U.S. President.

Prepare me some coffee and let me drink,
For my father is like a mystery to you;
But today you have met the 44th U.S. President.

The love of your muse is like the history of my past,
And like the muse of the world to give me joy!
But today you have met the 44th U.S. President.

The Problems Of The World

THE PROBLEMS OF THE WORLD

The problems of the world-
The problems of my own little life-
Problems and problems and problems.

A poem solves no problems
It escapes into itself
And makes a small world
In which the poet can hide.

The poem is the other world
The one where there is quiet and peace and calm and love
And all which makes one’s own dreams
A morning song.

Loser

(feat. The Stooges)
Allright
The feet in my boots
Are shaking their roots
For a reason
I'm looking at you
And you're too much to chew
For a reason
And the problems you got
Are the problems you got
For a reason
And what you are not
Is what you are not
For a reason
There's a decadent home
Where there should be control
I can't live anymore
There's a festering truth
Where there should be the truh
I can't live anymore
You wanna blame me
But you got misery
For a reason
And the way that you lose
Is the way that you chose
For a reason
And if this is a slam
I don't give a damn
For a reason
Cuz the point of this song
Is I'm moving along
For a reason
There's a bottomless pit
And you've got me in it
I can't live anymore
You're a tower of a cruel
And I feel a fool
I can't take it anymore
You're a loser
You're a loser
You're a loser
You're a loser
You're a loser
For a reason
You're a loser
The feet in my boots
Are shaking their roots
For a reason
For a reason
For a reason
For a reason

That Face

I see a face that face is mine
The mirror marks the changing time
Her face Ill never see again
And mine will never be the same
That face was fine only yesterday
My problems seemed so far away
Reflections I see of myself
As in sickness as in health
As she left as for worse
No chance to re-rehearse
Try to forget try not to see
Who is that face looking at me
Reflections of yesterday
If only I could make you stay
One day past is like a year
She wouldnt say what made her leave
I didnt think shed ever go
And why she did Ill never know
I wish I could return and see
But now its just a memory
Reflections of yesterday
Reflections of yesterday
I see a face that face is mine
The mirror marks the changing time
Her face Ill never see again
And mine will never be the same
Reflections of yesterday
Reflections of yesterday
