When hope is not pinned wriggling onto a shiny image or expectation, it sometimes floats forth and opens.

Hope Floats
Even as things go downhill
And life becomes hell
Hope floats
Even as the world deserts you
And friends are few
Hope floats
Even as the only thing you have
Is a loneliness that is scary
Hope floats
Even as all seems lost and
Time remains a few grains of sand
Hope floats
Even as life seems beyond complaint
And strains of joy become faint
Hope floats
There may be nothing else to do
Than survive
And yet…as the self becomes distant
From the soul
There’s a voice that says
Hope floats...

Hope is itself a species of happiness, and, perhaps, the chief happiness which this world affords: but, like all other pleasures immoderately enjoyed, the excesses of hope must be expiated by pain; and expectations improperly indulged must end in disappointment. If it be asked, what is the improper expectation which it is dangerous to indulge, experience will quickly answer, that it is such expectation as is dictated not by reason, but by desire; expectation raised, not by the common occurrences of life, but by the wants of the expectant; an expectation that requires the common course of things to be changed, and the general rules of action to be broken.

The satisfaction defined
Over expectation-
Under expectation-
Exact expectation-
Satisfaction equals
Reality minus expectation.

She Floats
[intro: whale sounds]
Watching puddles gather rain
Theres no better place to lay
Shes as fine as dandelions blowing in the wind
Shes not thinkin' about anything...
She floats
Floats...
Wearing black patent mary janes
She steps out in to the rain
She's as dry as clear blue skies
Swallowing you whole
Got not secrets though I'm told
She floats
Ahhh... ahhh...
She's as fine as dandelions blowing in the wind
Shes not thinkin she's listening
She floats... She floats... Floats...
Floats...
She floats... She floats... Floats...
Floats...

Fourth
expectation's hope rising, pulsing
as you bring the warmth and joy
that only a bright summer day
presents on a picnic blanket spread
filled with goodies and laughter
neatly packed away in a picnic basket
expectation's hope realising
as you take my hand in yours
thru the threshold of our home
prancing into the breeze and light
filled with memories and plans
lovingly packed for a rainy morn
expectation's hope resucitating
as your soothing breath caresses
taking my longings into belonging
perfecting inner transformation
filled with songs and dreams
movements in blissful harmony

Severed Tail of a Home Lizard
Wriggling tail really tells
That soul and body ride together,
But whose divorce
Death always seeks.
Wriggling tail really tells
That pain is a pin,
Which pricks on
On all the severances.
Wriggling tail really tells
That visible and invisible
Are synchronized
On all beings in universe.

Droplets of roses
when the droplet
floats down the
petal of the red rose
it opens an old wound
deep and which never
really has ever healed
a wound red as blood
time has taken
into its hands and
shrouded around
like petals do to the rose
so that when it blooms
it opens the way to
both cheers and pains

Hope In Our Hearts
Hope raises its head in times of despair
Hope raises its head when you think no ones there.
Hope is the foundation to all in life
Hope is our strength, our deepest might.
Hope is a common ground that we all share.
Hope shows our loved ones that we care.
When hope disappears from our hearts
Where do we go? Where do we start?
How can it be, that hope opens
the doors to all the mysteries.
One door closes, and another one opens.
And looking inside you will see
The beauties and the realities.
When you feel that life on you has turned its back
And the ropes tighten, without any slack.
when you feel that no one is there
With your problems you wish to share.
Then you turn to the one who knows you best
The one that helps you when you need a rest.
He is the LORD who has always been there
He is the one that always cares.
He has shown you that “ hope is the key, it is what sets you free”.

After Days Of Rain
AFTER DAYS OF RAIN
After days of rain
The blue returns to the sky
The world is fresh again
The greens deeper
Every breath has hope in it
And the sky opens and opens and opens
As if there is always somewhere greater and better to go.

The Star
One shiny star
I always see at night
I'm sure it has a name
but I dare not to know.
To that one shiny star
I throw my hope and dream
to be with you my love
someday.....somewhere.

Yes, you.
If you have a voice
And you choose not to use it
Because it is convenient…
Because your image reflects
A check mark…
A stamp from the small souls
On the surface of your head...
Then please reexamine it
From the inside.
Do not try to further build an image
By visiting a country in the great continent…
The problem is right here, darlings…
As soon as you step on their ground
And play nice…
They can see right through you.
Because you are representing
The small souls that destroyed their mother land.
So stop building a nice image for yourself
Your shiny ego…
And start questioning the root of the pain.

Something in me does not rest
Perhaps it is my soul
It is restless It is up to something else
Something more important than what I am doing now
It is wriggling. It is conscious of something.
To come.
It is up for something greater than everyday.
I do not know.
I really do not know. It is not speaking to me.
It is like an egg. It is the shell and transparent
Something alive is wriggling wanting to be born.
I am wanting to be reborn. I am not speaking to myself.
It is delicate. It is perhaps something holy.

And philosophers ask is it possible knowingly to believe a lie
I might knock off writing now
And join friends in pursuit of holiday cheer,
But I choose to stay the course I find more comfortable.
A wave of satisfaction is my unearned reward,
Followed by - dare I call it joy?
Hope is a benignant thief.
We offer her our now,
But she dissects the plunder, carrying off
Our expectation of joy in this moment,
Leaving us the joy itself,
Which now may take us by ambush.
Chits we earn by today's effort
Are stowed for an ever-receding future.
To redeem them would be to know the hollow of their promise,
the disappointment of joy.
On our deathbeds, the habit of hope will be with us still
As with fond expectation, we anticipate timelessness.

Shiny Star
I look upon the sky
In search of a star
I see comets fly
And stars shine
Oh shiny star
Shiny star that is so far
I wish my life
Shined as bright as you
I glance upon the starry sky
In awe of the shiny star
While the comet flies
And that star shines luminously
Oh shiny star
Shiny star that is so far
If only my life
Shined as bright as you

The Image
Written by: richard marx & fee waybill
Hope you dont believe a word
Of all the things I know youve heard about me
Really just a pack of ies
You see the truth before your eyes around me
Hard to keep it straight
The real from the ruse
Probably way too late
What can I do, but its
Not what you think
Not what you hear
Not what you see
Its just the image
Its all on a string
All fantasy
Not really me
Its just the image
Would it be too much to ask
That you could just gvie me the chance to prove it
Or would it only be a waste of time
To try to make you change your mind and use it
What Ive been looking for
Isnt what I thought
Not behind the golden door
Youre all Ive got, and its
Not what you think
Not what you hear
Not what you see
Its just the image
Its all on a string
All fantasy
Not really me
Its just the image
What Ive been looking for
Isnt what I thought
Not behind the golden door
Youre all Ive got, and its
Not what you think
Not what you hear
Not what you see
Just the image
Its all on a string
All fantasy
Not really me
Its just the image
Not what you think
Not what you hear
Not what you see
Its just the image
Its all on a string
All fantasy
Not really me
Its just the image
