Capitalism needs to function like a game of tug-of-war. Two opposing sides need to continually struggle for dominance, but at no time can either side be permitted to walk away with the rope.

Blue Sky Memories (In Answer To O Ingrid Jonker, For Daleen)

Blue sky memories continually comes to me
of a day under a bright summer sun
as if a part of you stays lingering,
when I love you even more (if I could)
while continually you are snared in my remembering.
Even when times of bad weather want to come
there is an unbreakable bond between us,
while continually I am astounded by our love.
Blue sky memories continually lingers in my thoughts
when I forget all of my previous heartaches,
when continually I am lost in you
and I always know about the depth of our love.
The sparkling sun continuously brings new hope,
when we walk days, months and years together on a road.

Reason and emotion are not antagonists. What seems like a struggle is a struggle between two opposing ideas or values, one of which, automatic and unconscious, manifests itself in the form of a feeling.

Defiance Of Meaning.

The fighting has died off once again,
They slump amid the mud
Wondering if their 'war effort' will be in vain,
Whilst staring at a recent victim's face covered in blood.

Witnessing comrades fall and die,
Some must of asked why?
In these fields of death, If there is any room for love and care?
Now that the festive season is kind of in the air.

Then the 'Jerries' started to erect Christmas trees and many a lantern light,
Then started singing 'Silent Night'.
To the 'Tommies' it was a pleasant sound and different sight,
Even more so on that smoke filled night.
They respond likewise,
With Christmas carols that fill the skies.

Before long, batches of each entrenched side would be singing along,
Together in the next 'chosen' song.
One side would sing and the other would be cheering and clapping,
There seemed no stopping.

Shouts of 'friendship' ring out from from both opposing lines,
Each side making 'come over' signs.
Slowly but surely, men from both each side emerge from their part of each trench,
Out from their corridors of hell, from the blood and mud filled stench.

Uneasily men with different shades of uniforms walk towards 'no man's land',
Both sides reaching out to hug and shake the nearest 'foes' hand.
Hugging and exchanging of cigarettes, chocolate, pictures, stories, jokes and seasonal cheer,
The thought of getting killed by one another is was no longer a fear.
A game of football breaks out, only 'opposing' teams,
No one died, no blown to smithereens!

Only a few hours before, they were trying to wipe out each other,
But now it was love thy brother.
It seemed like a dream, it didn't make sense.
Mortal enemies, with no need for defence.

However like most good things it come to an end,
The enemy friend is no longer a friend.
Cannon fire ends their game of football,
Both sides obey own high command call.
Every one scrambles their respective ways across the crater filled pitch,
Returning to their 'normal days' back to a watery ditch.

So back to shooting the heads off short-lived friends,
Until the next night descends.

The politicians and generals said, 'There's no room for good will in the carnage of war, '
Some one on that front line must of felt, why the hell not for?

If ever in history of mankind, there was a much needed pause,
It must have been needed in the 'great war', the so called war to 'end all wars'!
That unusual pause in that senseless cause,
Must be remembered by us all.
Now and for ever, and the next time we have to answer our country's call.
But especially by the 'war hawks, '
To remind them that there is some times 'room' for talks.

That interval of 'unofficial peace' showed past, present and future generations can be understood,
without the spilling of his blood!

Spoilt For Choice

Daylight reveals now night has fled.
The mangled bodies of the dead.
Now provender for hungry crows
Who feast alike on friends and foes.
Opposing armies fought and died.
Now enemies lie side by side.
The scavengers do not care
What uniform the bodies wear.
To crows all bodies taste the same.
They are the winners in the game.
The foolish game men choose to play.
So when the battle moves away
It does not matter in the least.
They are content to stay and feast.

Hansel and Gretel Syndrome Part2(In Reponse To Comment.)

Communism is not the solution.
But neither is capitalism
They are equally flawed.
A good leader of man, is one who is also equal of them.
One willing to get right in the trenches with them.
Many in this country have their own private jets out of both greed and fear.
Not many have ever really worked in their life.
At least not the way I have or do.
Barely making it time after time eats at you.
I know that is judgmental, and I shouldn't say such things.
But capitalism is the rise of the business, not the workers.
All are not equal in trade, when it comes to money that can be made.
Some are so desperately needed and still so underpaid.
The minimum wage slave.
While others which are not necessarily needed for society to function and are robbing us blind.
And we call that a level playing field?
Tell me now who has drunk all the wine?
With crossed eyes the rules have been written and defined.
It is the corruption of the heart and mind.

Again I say we are as Hansel and Gretel, children lost in a very big forest knowing not what evils might lurk.

Using Up Some Valuable Time

It may be true.
There is two sides to a coin.
You don't understand...
I'm not asking you to flip it over.
I don't want to see the other side of it.
I have no interest.
What I've seen is enough.
And anything on the other side of that...
Needs to leave this one sided.

And I leave not curious at all.
When I expect someone to be upfront with me...
I only want to see one side.
The honest side!
All this 'two-sides-to-every-story' nonsense...
May work in Hollywood, Disneyland
Or any shopping mall!
However...
While you were collecting from me,
My benefits of doubt?
You were using up some valuable time!
Not mine!
Yours.

'Who' led you to believe,
I was that stupid?
Because I was 'there' for you...
Did not mean I was there to be used,
By you or played!
And that story you've been telling,
Needed new chapters added a long time ago.

I'm just speeding up the ending for the both of us.
I've decided I did not want to see repeated episodes,
This season.
Nor am I going to feel nostalgic,
Reviewing them with you either!

Two Sides To Every Story

There are two sides to every story
Not just the side of them or theirs,
So never judge or hold a grudge
And when you listen, please listen with care.
Listen to one side and then always the other
Not just one side and then walk away
If you pick that route, sad you'll turn out
And never will you ever feel or be the same.
You will hate yourself as truth be told
If you listen to only one side of the story
You'll live in disgrace, when you see your face
And never will you fill satisfaction or joy.
As time will come, and of course time will tell
Someday the truth it will all come out
And when it you do hear, will you shed a tear
As you found out you took the wrong route.

There is two sides to every story
Not just the side that you want to hear
And not from their soul, that you do not know
And not from someone who will cry you a tear.
When you listen, please listen well
No matter if they be friend or foe
Look into their eyes, then you might realize
And then the truth might just be known.
To condemn someone is such a terrible act
Which you must live with the rest of your life
You will live in shame, for someone you falsely blamed
And always you will question yourself why.
A pretty face or a sad sad story
Guilt either begins or ends with that line
As a pretty face, it can mask lies or hate
Then the truth through deception is left behind.

There are two sides to every story
I must preach that statement once again
Listen to both sides, then the judgment you can decide
And happy you will be in the end
As you cannot judge a book by it's cover
No matter what you might hear or what might be said
As so many will lie, so that to get pity on their side
While untruth and deception they will had led.
A saddened face is just a saddened story
There is more to the truth to one persons story
Don't falsely judge, if so even GOD will hold a grudge
Then far away you will be from his glory.
When you listen to a story listen with your soul
Never be afraid to ask a question or even ask why
And always seek the truth, as you would seek out good fruit
And remember to every story there is always another side.

built by both sides!

Two Sides

Well, theres two sides, to every situation
Yes, theres two sides, two interpretations
A laugh is a cry, hello means goodbye
Youre sayin something baby, I dont wanna buy
Well, theres two sides to every creation
You and me babe, were no revelation
Well, theres darkness in our light, and theres wrong in our right
Theres sorry babe, Im workin late tonight
Well, theres two sides, theres another side of me
Theres the one you think you live with, the one you never see
Its never really lived, but its never really died
Its never really made it but its tried
Well, theres two sides to every conversation
But with you babe, thats no consolation
Silence is golden, let me put you on hold
Danglin on your love line, baby, its growin old
Well, I dont know how to say it
Cause I never thought I could
God know Ive tried so many times
But theres two sides, theres another side of me
Theres the one you think you live with, the one you never see
Its never really lived, but its never really died
Its never really made it, but its tried
To every creation
Were no revelation
One sees the wrong, and one sees the right
The other side of me just caught a flight
Goodbye

What is It That We Experience

When we die, change form, all of our life makes sense to us this grand lucidity, we experience a welcome clarity of our life, deep waters of feelings, heights, vistas of beings, opening, judgment day is the shared encounter with all of humanity, where we experience our life with all other self encounters with creation, with humanity.

Sides of us, our erotic side, our heroic side, our sophisticated side, our nurturing side, our warrior side, all sides of us blend, synthesize with others, we are and we let go, we ripen.

Alive, being, it is a beginning,
An appreciation, being for all time, in peace, joy, wonder, bliss,
We make an inner promise, we have a perception, we extend out and into once more, and there we are once more.

Warrior Dash

Weaving through swings
Fresh new squires

Climbing rope walls
To heights so dire

Running over cars
Sailing through tires

To the 1 mile mark water supplier

Sliding down poles
We begin to conspire

We scaled up a wall
Like climbing a spire

If we needed a job
We'd certainly be hired

At the 2 mile mark we tire

A rope net crawl
With a tight rope walk prior

A large waterfall
We begin to climb higher

And as young son
Comes to become sire

We frantically try to jump over fire

We swim through thick mud
Bringing down all outliers

We struggle to swim
Under barbed wire

And then as runner
Turns into a buyer

The last thing you'll want is a blow dryer

Continually our love surprises me

Continually our love does me surprise,
as sometimes you bring me pain
and sometimes you hold on to me

while sometimes it feels as if I am reaching into a whirlpool
but sometimes you take away everything bad.
Continually our love does me surprise,

and sometimes tears run over your cheeks
but sometimes it's as if the sun shines through your eyes
and sometimes you hold on to me

while our love is much stronger than just a maybe,
and I am smitten by the look on your face.
Continually our love does me surprise,

as if new depths continually comes to it,
you become part of my awareness
and sometimes you hold on to me

and it's as if we perfectly fit into each other's lives
while continually you are part of me, of my existence;
continually our love does me surprise,
and sometimes you hold on to me.

To Live Beyond The Edge Of Hope

To live beyond the edge of hope
Is to dangle daily from a rope
In a perpetual dance with death itself
Beyond this world and all its wealth

There is a world of blue and green
But to the dark eye its all unseen
A world of orange, red and yellow too
But from the rope its beyond all view

For from the rope there's shades of grey
And sleepless nights and endless days
And every now and then some light
But just enough to confirm the night

There was a time I dangled from this rope
At the edge of hell and beyond all hope
I lived my life, just hanging there
Crushed and broken, suspended in the air

Then Jesus came and cut me down
He raised me up to wear a crown
A pauper raised to walk with kings
A voicless man but now who sings

Of all the glories of the Lord
Who came with Word and deed and sword
And conquered hell and death and sin
Restoring joy and hope within

Now all the world is bright to me
No matter what my eyes can see
No longer dangling from the rope
I walk with Jesus, I walk with hope

And above the clouds I know its true
The sun shines bright and the sky is blue
And when a shaft of light appears
It warms my heart and quells my fears

Now if your dangling from that rope
And this lie cries out, 'there is no hope'
Cry out to the one who can cut you down
He will raise you up and you will wear a crown!

Get Up & Go

She plays guitar with her fingertips
She'll play your heart with her tender lips
She'll work it out until she makes the tips
And it's alright, yeah it's alright
Holding her tight in late December
I look in the stars and I remember
She doesn't mind when you offend her
And it's alright, yeah it's alright
Just a girl like you, and maybe just a
Just a guy like me, maybe we
Could take a walk on the wild side
Take a look and see
Get up and go
Just a girl like you, and maybe just a
Just a guy like me, maybe we
Could take a walk on the wild side
Take a look and take a look and go
Get Up and Go
What could I give when you've got all you need
And she looks at me like all I want's a little free
Every time I look at you it makes me see
That it's alright, yeah it's alright
We'll get away be in love we can make it better
All I need's a little time for us to get together
Happiness is just a step away
When it's alright, yeah it's alright
Just a girl like you, and maybe just a
Just a guy like me, maybe we
Could take a walk on the wild side
Take a look and see
Get up and go
Just a girl like you, and maybe just a
Just a guy like me, maybe we
Could take a walk on the wild side
Take a look and take a look and go
Ooh oh, ooh oh, won't you go
Ooh oh, ooh oh, won't you go
Ooh oh, ooh oh, won't you go
Take a look and, take a look and go
Seems like love has always found a way
But there's only so many hours in the day
All that I know is that you're here with me
And it's alright, yeah it's alright
Won't you tell me that you need me so bad
'Cause you are everything I've never had
Every time I look at you it hurts so bad
And it's alright, yeah it's alright
Just a girl like you, and maybe just a
Just a guy like me, maybe we
Could take a walk on the wild side
Take a look and see
Get up and go
Just a girl like you, and maybe just a
Just a guy like me, maybe we

Tightrope Ride

You're on a tightrope ride, nobody by your side
Well, you're all alone, gotta find a new home
Don't go over the line. You better keep on time
Or you'll lose your mind on your tightrope ride
Watch out, don't fall! Careful, don't slip!
You better get your balance, you have to feel the way
There are no more questions, no answers today
There are no reasons, there are no more rhymes
But if you feel it, you can fly next time
You can fly next time, or maybe this time
Did you think we were all together?
Did you think we were all the same?
Did you think maybe I could help you
Remember your name, remember the game
What's the name of the game
It's a very good game, never stays the same
It's the number one from mud to sun
You're on a tightrope ride, we're all by your side
But you're all alone, and we're going home
And we're by your side, but you're all alone
Like a Rolling Stone, like Brian Jones
On a tightrope ride
