A mad, keen photographer needs to get out into the world and work and make mistakes.

One of the biggest mistakes a photographer can make is to look at the real world and cling to the vain hope that next time his film will somehow bear a closer resemblance to it.

You do your work as a photographer and everything becomes past. Words are more like thoughts; the photographer's picture is always surrounded by a kind of romantic glamor - no matter what you do, and how you twist it.

What is right? Simply put, it is any assignment in which the photographer has a significant spiritual stake... spiritually driven work constitutes the core of a photographer's contribution to culture.

In a brave new world, a post-September 11 world, anyone is going to make certain mistakes. The mistakes that have been made on homeland security, on protecting our Nation from another terrorist attack, are mistakes of omission. We are simply not doing enough.

My Mistakes
[Chorus]
If I could erase, everyone of my mistakes
Tell me would it make you wanna come over
And work this out with me
And now I'll do whatever it takes
Just meet me halfway
All I want is for you to come over
And work this out, work this out with me
[Verse 1]
Whats wrong with me
Why can't I do right
You promise me
You give me a life
If I could be
Well then just a typical
Guy to lie to your face
How could I do
The things that I say I wouldn't do
Keep doing the same
I give you
Might just too pitiful
To recognize your worth
Now you tell me that before
Promise that I wouldn't go there no more
You gave me all of you
But what did I go do
And everytime I had the chance
To get into another nigga woman's pants
I would follow through
Not thinking of me and you
[Chorus]
If I could erase, everyone of my mistakes
Tell me would it make you wanna come over
And work this out with me
And now I'll do whatever it takes
Just meet me halfway
All I want is for you to come over
And work this out, work this out with me
[Verse 2]
As bad as I
Want you right here
I empathize with the way that you feel
Took away the thing
That you call your cute
If you could find the feeling you have from the start
You know we should never be apart
I'm asking you can you please listen to me
When you took me back before
I promise that I wouldn't go there no more
You gave me all of you
But what did I go do
And everytime I had the chance
To get into another nigga woman's pants
I would follow through
Without thinking of me and you
[2x Chorus]
If I could erase, everyone of my mistakes
Tell me would it make you wanna come over
And work this out with me
And now I'll do whatever it takes
Just meet me halfway
All I want is for you to come over
And work this out, work this out with me
[Bridge]
When they want you
come over and talk to me
I know I don't deserve to be a part
Of anyone tryna give me the heart
They loving me
Baby please
Come on over and talk to me
I see you like you've never seen him before
Cuz you're the only one to show me the love
[Repeat Chorus]
If I could erase, everyone of my mistakes
Tell me would it make you wanna come over
And work this out with me
And now I'll do whatever it takes
Just meet me halfway
All I want is for you to come over
And work this out, work this out with me

I don't want to give any advice to a 19-year-old, because I want a 19-year-old to make mistakes and learn from them. Make mistakes, make mistakes, make mistakes. Just make sure they're your mistakes.

What is Sometimes Hidden.
Just as Minnie gets in the mood
to play the Debussy Violin
Sonata her mother says the
photographer is waiting and
so she has to go along to the
lounge and pose and have her
picture taken and as she stands
there with her violin dressed
to the nines the photographer
says no do not smile it cheapens
the effect and so she stiffens
her lips and stares at the young
photographer's moustache and
her mother says do has the man
wants dear and don't pout so
and so she ceases to pout and
gazes at the box camera and man
hidden behind the cloth his hand
visible and do not move he says
hold it do not fidget dear her
mother says and puts her hands
on her shoulders and places her
in the position her mother thinks
the photographer wants is that it?
her mother asks the photographer
smiling in that way she smiles that
gives the impression of an imbecile
yes yes he says that is it and so she
stands as placed the sensation of
wanting to urinate suddenly upon
her and so she squeezes her thighs
together her knees touching her
hands gripping the violin trying
silently to keep the urine in.

Human II [Don't Turn Your Back On Me]
I know this was my fault but
How much should it cost
To make things right
Do I have to pay for life
We all fall short sometimes
And I'm guilty of that crime
But I just wanna make you see
That you can still believe in me
I know, I make mistakes
I am what I am
I'm only a man
So don't take my joy away
Don't turn your back on me
Speak to me, let me know how you feel
If you feel like you can hold on and be strong
I will never leave you lonely
I cry sometimes 'cause I make you cry
And that ain't right
I won't make the same mistake twice
Baby please forgive me
I know, I make mistakes
I am what I am
I'm only a man
So don't take my joy away
Don't turn your back on me
No I can't erase the wrong I've done
But I hope you can give me another chance
'Cause if you were me you would want the same
And I'd give that chance to you
I know, I make mistakes
I am what I am
I'm only a man
So don't take my joy away
Don't turn your back on me
I know, I make mistakes
I am what I am
I'm only a man
So don't take my joy away
Don't turn your back on me

The galleries are full of critics. They play no ball, they fight no fights. They make no mistakes because they attempt nothing. Down in the arena are the doers. They make mistakes because they try many things. The man who makes no mistakes lacks boldness and the spirit of adventure. He is the one who never tries anything. His is the brake on the wheel of progress. And yet it cannot be truly said he makes no mistakes, because his biggest mistake is the very fact that he tries nothing, does nothing, except criticize those who do things.

Photographer From Chicago
In the department store
on Nicollet Mall,
a photographer
photographed me
from Chicago.
He came back before
snowy and blurry,
MN Twins were winning
The World Series.
photographs were taken
when I was young,
it was great I
had a lot of fun.
now the roll of film
almost became lost,
another photographer
found it before it was tossed.
if anything I still have
photos to show
I was young and a glow.

Ultimate resort
You pervade me
My ultimate resort.
I am with you
While sitting eating
Walking sleeping.
In each and every work
I am commiting mistakes
And mistakes and mistakes
Except you nobody is there
To forgive me
Forgive me I crave it.

Photography Is Kin’s Thing
At the Lake Street Painting festival I did meet,
a photographer named Kin who is really sweet.
He shot photos of my princess on sidewalk not street.
being a rogue artist the sidewalk was the place,
that I decided to use my chalk to paint.
Paint a small square by the Hummingbird hotel,
Kin shot great photos of Sarah Star not Mel.
Since then Kin shot photos of my painting 3x5,
also castle scene painting this year with keen eye.
We went to wildlife Wakodahatchee Wetlands by Jog,
we photographed birds, alligators and frogs.
Kin visited me at the Royal Art & Music Fest,
photos he took turned out best above all the rest.
Kin says he’s my fan, and never charges a fee,
he supports all artists like cartoonist like me.
Thank you Kin
for being a great photographer and friend.

And What Is A Photo
And what is photo
The photographer can tell you.
And what he told
Is to conform the pose.
And the pose if neglected
Spoiled you and the picture.
And your life is in danger
O Photographer please guide
You are my master.

Generations
People are people no matter what age
from young to old, we're all the same
over the years the younger generation has changed
from crew cuts, long hair to colored punk does
the clothing it self has also changed, some coming back
dresses to mini skirts, dress pants to ripped blue jeans
but as they mature, so does us all
learn by mistakes, earn lots of trust
work together to make things better
how we remember our generation
fearless, rebels, protesters, demonstrators
but as we grow older we learn to adapt and deal with change
funny how the young minds think, till age is involved
back to traditions and status quo
changing the world takes a back seat to family life
we build society to deal with changes
we alone can not defeat change
it takes all to make the world a better place
something simple, maybe little could make a impact
work together, listen, trust, share can be the answers
no generation can change the problems
it's takes a bit of everyone from past to present to make the change
it start with you and I to lead the way
for the next generations learn from our mistakes

The Color Drains From My Face;
and I lose my place
and everything that made me,
the person I used to be
bleeds out of me,
into a puddle on the floor
to be looked at
and watched for
to make sure,
I don’t fall back into
old habits
die hard,
but I’ve given up
everything
for this
because with everything
I was
this wouldn’t work
this couldn’t work
and I swore
if it didn’t work
I’d make it work
and this is what it took.
and I’ll do all it takes
to fix who I was
and repair my mistakes
and if along the way,
I lose the worst of me;
I swear, I’ll be okay.
because sometimes change is all it takes,
when I’ve got such a wretched taste in my mouth
that I can only describe
as regret,
for all the things I know you’ll never forgive
and all the things I know you’ll never forget.
