It's a challenge between me and the hurdle, and the hurdle has always won.

Fog or hurdle
Fog or hurdle
I was on the way
and the fog was also on the way.
It was covering trees, flowers and also me.
It was an early morning
and the sun was peeping behind the fog like a bride.
The flowers were not wavering.
The butter flies were not dancing.
These are nature’s act.
I can say only this that the fog is a hurdle in the way of smile.

Athletic Endeavor
Once more it begins
My mind focused
On the task
at hand
Ready?
Muscles tightening
The gathering up
of Both mind
And body
Go!
With every ounce
Of strength and
Determination
I make the
Charge
The obstacle looms
Yet the distance
Shortens while
I push on
Steadily
Uncertainty dawns
As I draw nearer
This hurdle
In my
path
Now the moment
Final effort is
Demanded
I give my
All
No!
Failure!
All was not
Enough to leap
The dreaded hurdle
Exhausted I subside
Exhaling in defeat
Coming to a rest
Wheels against
The Curb
Dedicate to all those who daily challenge such 'hurdles'

It was being young and sensitive and an actor. There was a lot of pressure, everything was a hurdle.

If you're to jump a swamp, you need to make one long hurdle.
The big hurdle is going out and raising the revenue. There's no doubt about that; it's an uphill battle.

Each handicap is like a hurdle in a steeplechase, and when you ride up to it, if you throw your heart over, the horse will go along, too.

I stuck out like a sore thumb when I came on, just by the fact that I looked so different. I think that adjustment for the audience was a hurdle for me.

There once lived a turtle
Who was the best at jumping a hurdle
But on day somethign terrible came
He fell and became lame
Even worse, to help his legs, he had to wear a girdle!

Cherished Way
All women are like the red rose
Not a hurdle or challenge posed
They stand for it and really to be supposed
No worries at home and quickly disposed
It is nice to keep her in smiles
As life cart must run for a while
All passengers and co passengers
If not may not prove good managers
She is at helm of affairs
Looks after fine and very fair
Let us help her cheeks to shine
She stands tall as next to divine
Let her open up like flower
Spread fragrance after rain shower
Think of sun shine and very good season
You will be happiest on earth as person
She has always kept you intact
This is one of the known and bare facts
Let us respect and please her to stay
As life is meant to be long and cherished way

Sonnet: Aligning With God
Let every suff’ring make me better Lord,
Let every problem closer to Thee bring;
Let every tussle keep to Thine accord;
Let every struggle make me love Thee, sing!
Let every strife, more purify my mind;
Let every passion give my heart relief;
Let every anguish, peace of mind sure find;
Let every labor lessen my heart’s grief.
Let every hurdle encourage my aim;
Let every hardship make my body strong;
Let every defeat add succor, not blame;
Let every challenge teach to avoid wrong.
Let every failure make me to Thee pray!
Let every success happen in thine way.

I brush my old horse's teeth
' Why you look so sad these days? '
I asked her, my obedient friendly horse 'Moon'.
She said very calmly; 'The race is close by Boss.'
' What can I do for you my dear? '
I brush her teeth then at least she can smile whether she lose or not?
She jumps the hurdle that I am sure and I locked the rickety stable.

The biggest hurdle to writing Fargo Rock City was that I couldn't afford a home computer - I had to get a new job so I could buy a computer. It could all change though. In five years, I could be back at some daily newspaper, which wouldn't be so bad.

Trials
The trials of life,
Each day I try to pass,
Each day a new hurdle,
As I overcome the last.
Trying to pull ahead,
But seem to just fall behind,
Keep struggling to see he light,
But empty darkness is what I find.
Tomorrow is a new day,
That's full of promise & sunshine,
Just gotta make it through today,
For tomorrow everything will be fine.

Celebrations
The fireworks burst into scintillas,
To sweeten the mood accusingly,
Once the weather worked and spanked.
My fire works from the heart,
It is the quay so queasy,
My mood lightens after the drama.
Mere moods will shatter the shaken people,
Excitement of the time aches,
Hurdle it so that excitation conquers.

Hopscotch
Maya*, do you remember our boisterous childhood?
We were hopping over the marked squares.
At last you hopped over the horizon
leaving me alone in my dormitory.
I stuck in my room with the pile of books.
The gust rattled my tiny windows
and I am scared that my fragile heart will scatter
and blow away like a withered leaf.
I am already frustrated in the rat race
and this raw deal never allow me to jump
over the hurdle.

Can You Expect
Not that being poor
you could not achieve
your goal, if so
Ambedkar, Lincoln and Obama
could not scale the height of success.
My child!
Poverty is not the hurdle
along the way of achievement
instead, lack of our will to win
is the mother of our misfortune.
Success or failure
is nothing but an outcome
of our labor or laziness.
And my child!
Can you expect sweet grapes
from the climber of bitter gourd?

Simple Joys
For the simple joys I find, I read poetry
Those poems that reach the very heart of me
And perhaps leave a message, unexpectedly
Bringing memories that linger, quite sweetly.
I have a preference for the understandable
Not the vague ones I find indecipherable
With fancy words or terms indigestible
To read them is a hurdle for which I'm incapable.

__ UNaware
Waiting in solitude
As long as you need me
I shall be there
Knowing what your heart holds for me
Hoping to give your feelings wings
Wishing to be there for you
Unaware of your situation
I hope to stand by you
Assuring you of my unfailing love
My unconditional love for you
That will aid you
Distance may seem as the prime hurdle
But it is the strongest magic
That keeps us hanging on to each other
Maybe situations cut you open
But I’m always beside you
You’re the elixir in my life
Filling me up with static magic
