Between richer and poorer classes in a free country a mutually respecting antagonism is much healthier than pity on the one hand and dependence on the other, as is, perhaps, the next best thing to fraternal feeling.

the news on TV
the news on TV have given all the illogicality
of the present times
thus she says
the innocent go to prison
the guilty are set free
the rich become richer
the poorer becoming poorer
to each his own
no one cares
this is her country going berserk
over selfish interests
the early morning news tell it all
she fasts
she feasts on sighs
and numbness.

A man’s tendency
Man, you might be richer with wealth
But I am neither poorer,
With my bowl content with contents.
Man, you might be stronger with power
But I am neither weaker,
With my sac’s wants empty.
Why must I fall behind you?
Woman, you might be poorer in looks
I am not richer either
With my kit of virtues torn.
Woman, you are weaker in virtues
I am not richer either
With my bag of conscience worn.
That is why I fall behind you.

The Gambling Song
Sort of country and western....
Lord knows i'm a gambler
I've gambled all my life
Gambled with my money
Gambled being a wife
For richer for poorer
Was the gamble that i made
And all the time with fingers crossed
I have been betrayed.
Once he was handsome
The finest stud around
But then he started drinking
And put on a few pounds
Then one night in our bedroom
I was quite surprised
What had been big was now quite small
And not a satisfying size.
Lord knows i'm a gambler
I've gambled all my life
Gambled with my money
Gambled being a wife
For richer for poorer
Was the gamble that i made
And all the time with fingers crossed
I have been betrayed.

What A Feeling
What a feeling it is to say, “This is my own house”
For one who lived years in a rented residence
What a feeling it is to say, “I’m full to my neck”
For one who starved for weeks, being out of work
What a feeling it is to say, “This rag is so warm”
For a half-nude hobo who lives under sky-dome
Small pleasures, yet great gratifications they are,
For those grieving souls, in sheer indigence
The poor are poor; but poorer are the ravenous rich
Who can never reach these richer indulgences

Sonnet: The Rich and the Poor
The rich become richer and the poor poorer;
This is the way in which this world goes on!
Men may become suddenly rich, not born;
A rich man turns suddenly a beggar.
The few pennies are snatched off from the poor;
The brunt of taxes are but borne by them;
They can’t make both ends meet by any sum;
The rich hoodwink the taxman- their brother!
Will the world treat people alike ever?
All men are born unequally today;
Yet, if it happens, ’twill be a wonder;
No matter what you do, things happen this way.
The rich become richer not by real work;
The poor become poorer though they hardwork!

It is probably not love that makes the world go around, but rather those mutually supportive alliances through which partners recognize their dependence on each other for the achievement of shared and private goals.

Real Losers
one is the soul of the country one is the wealth
both seem not to know how best to give to the country
one says one is the real son of the country
the other says he is equally a son of the country
for he helps build up the country, feed the nation
and develop it blood and sweat
]
one insists he is the real master
the other says he wishes to have similar status
both go on and on until they forget there is
a country to be fed, to be built, and both
end up in the drain, soul and wealth
so much to fight over in a country
without much of a country to gain in the end
my pity, my pity

Who Says That Life Is Fair?
and so it happened
that one day
i told her
frankly in class
that life
is not really fair
the rich gets
richer
the poor gets
poorer
the killer
is on the loose
and the
heirs of the
victim still
grieving
justice
is not in the
hands of the
innocent
and with a stare
i look at her
and tells her
who says
that life is fair?
raise your hand
and indeed
she raises her
hand
the following day
she kills herself
i guess,
she proves it
slapping
me on my face
with her
untimely
death

Men would not be richer for being miserly; generosity does not make a man poorer.
That Pity B-Gone!
Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!
Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!
We knew that pity had to split!
B-gone.
We knew that our hearts would split, and soon...
B-gone.
If we let that pity sit,
Between us....
Both of us would have a fit.
If we let that pity sit,
Both of us would have a fit.
If we let that pity sit...
Between us!
And...
You'd believe,
That I could never love you.
To leave me feeling sorry,
And blue.
But...
I would know,
How deep inside my love goes.
And protecting what I love,
Before it overflows.
Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!
So...
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And maybe not so much the benefits.
Since I would miss too much your many moods.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone!

For all the gold and silver stolen and shipped to Spain did not make the Spanish people richer. It gave their kings an edge in the balance of power for a time, a chance to hire more mercenary soldiers for their wars. They ended up losing those wars anyway, and all that was left was a deadly inflation, a starving population, the rich richer, the poor poorer, and a ruined peasant class.

Unlock That Box Just For You
The key to feeling happy and free...
Unlock that box.
And walk away from it when you get out.
Experience what life is about.
It's not inside to keep up whining,
It's not inside to throw a tantrum and pout.
The key to feeling happy and free...
You've got to move your feet with direct speed.
You've got to unleash from guilt and pity.
The key to feeling happy and free...
You've got to accept what is there and care!
You can not wish for something you think is fair.
The key to feeling happy and free...
You've got to unload despair and grief.
You've got to move with faith and beliefs.
The key to feeling happy and free...
You've got to move your feet with direct speed.
You've got to unleash from guilt and pity.
The key to feeling happy and free...
You've got to accept what is there and care!
You can not wish for something you think is fair.

Unlock that box.
