Sometimes it seems like there's more footnotes than text. This isn't something we're proud of, and over time we'd like to see our footnotes steadily shrink.

Philosophy aims at the logical clarification of thoughts. Philosophy is not a body of doctrine but an activity. A philosophical work consists essentially of elucidations. Philosophy does not result in "philosophical propositions", but rather in the clarification of propositions. Without philosophy thoughts are, as it were, cloudy and indistinct: its task is to make them clear and to give them sharp boundaries.

The literature
A novel must have a theme,
A plot, characterization and style.
A fiction can forgo characterization.
A poem need to have a thought and style.
Thought and style are soul and body
Of the one to be called a literature.

Peace Proposal
Said General Clay to General Gore really must we fight this silly war
To kill and die in such a bore I quite agree said General Gore
Said General Gore to General Clay we could go to the beach today
And have some icecream on the way a grand idea said General Clay
Said General Clay to General Gore we'll build sand castles on the shore
Said General Gore we'll splash and play let's leave right now said General Clay
Said General Gore to General Clay but what if the sea's closed today
And what if the sand's been blown away the dreadful thought said General Clay
Said General Gore to General Clay I've always feared the ocean's spray
And we may drown it's true we may it chills my blood said General Clay
Said General Clay to General Gore my bathin' suit is slightly tore
We better go on with our war I quite agree said General Gore
The General Clay chanrged General Gore as bullets flew and cannons roared
And now at last there is no more of General Clay or General Gore

The Generals
Said General Clay to General Gore,
'Oh must we fight this silly war?
To kill and die is such a bore.'
'I quite agree,' said General Gore.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'We could go to the beach today
And have some ice cream on the way.'
'A grand idea,' said General Clay.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'But what if the sea is closed today?
And what if the sand's been blown away?'
'A dreadful thought,' said General Clay.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'I've always feared the ocean's spray,
And we may drown!' 'It's true, we may.
It chills my blood,' said General Clay.
Said General Clay to General Gore,
'My bathing suit is slightly tore.
We'd better go on with our war.'
'I quite agree,' said General Gore.
Then General Clay charged General Gore
As bullets flew and cannons roared.
And now, alas! there is no more
Of General Clay or General Gore.

Dear Poetry
Don't rhyme, Poetry.
Our thoughts and tongues don't think that way.
Steer clear of meter, sweet Poetry.
I'm tired of counting and scanning.
Liberate yourself from the chains of Tradition
and become yourself, Poetry.
I know your laws like a son knows his father's,
Reading your tales from Burns, Blake, and Donne.
I know your anatomy like a physician
and I practiced, practice, practicing.
And like the teenager I am, Poetry,
I rebelled.
I became an individually packaged poet
Pen sold separately.
And all by choice, too.
Keep your tradition, and I'll start mine.
I'll visit, and I expect you to call,
But for now I'll stick with my philosophical prose and
small machines of thought.
Thank you though, Tree of Poetry
I hope I don't fall far from you.

Shes So European
She walked in like a lady, with a glass of pink champagne
I wouldnt look if you paid me, cause to me shes still the same
Well you oughtta see her, wearin her heart on her sleeves
Youd never believe her, shes got a well-planned look in her eyes
Shes so european, shes one of a kind, one of a kind
Shes so european, shes one of a kind, all in her mind
And shes so european, I found out today
She still speaks with an accent from a week in san tropez
She makes love on her brass bed cause her parents are still away
Well you oughtta see her, countin the stars in her eyes
Youd never believe her, shes got a well-planned coverless smile
Shes so european, shes one of a kind, all in her mind
Shes so european, shes one of a kind, all in her mind
And shes so european, she told me today
I wanna hold her tight all through the night, I must be dreamin
I wanna take my time, shes so refined, is that her screamin
Ive seen the looks in your eyes, youve seen through her disguise, yeah
Shes so european, shes so european, one of a kind, all in her mind....

The Safest Place
Thank God that you were by my side..
On a night....
On a night...
Daytime Im fine
Everything is back normal
Last night I thought that I would die
I had nightmares, I was so scared
Thank God that you were by my side
To hold me when I cried
I wanna be strong
But I dont wanna be alone tonight
I wanna believe that I can save the world
And make it right
But I believe that youve got a heros face
Right here in your arms is safest place
The safest place
It feels so real
You showed I could trust you
With emotions I had locked away
It was your touch, your words
They hear deepest part of me
That only you can see
I wanna be strong
But I dont wanna be alone tonight
I wanna believe that I can save the world
And make it right
But I believe that youve got a heros face
Right here in your arms is safest place
As long as Im with you
As long as I can feel you
Thats all I need to keep me going
On and on and on and on....
I wanna believe that I can save the world
And make it right
But I believe that youve got a heros face
Right here in your arms is safest place
Right here in your arms is safest place....
The safest place...
The safest place...

Every philosophical problem, when it is subjected to the necessary analysis and justification, is found either to be not really philosophical at all, or else to be, in the sense in which we are using the word, logical.

A composition in a ricefield
The white herons
Are commas
The carabaos are periods
An eagle flying over my head
Is the head note
The trees are the margins
And the fences
The nipa huts
Are footnotes
The rice field is one big
Pad of paper
And so this is the composition
Of a ricefield
Commas on top of periods
Two head notes will do
Four footnotes
Can make a story of a village
My hand is always the ampersand
And I think
Like there are no carabaos on this pad of paper.
