Libre Song
Come on daylight
Because I am tired already of staying in bed
And I slept through the night
Libre song
I want to have a million friends
So that I can sing the libre song to them
With my strong voice
But I don't care if it will sound good or bad
Because I will just sing it the way I know
Libre song
I was born to be free here on earth
And walk here on earth everywhere I want too
Because I have the right to live on earth also
Libre song
Will I see the stars tonight shining in the sky?

Canta Libre
Canta libre, canta vida, de mi madre, y mi padre,
Canta mi corazon, para los ninos, y sus ninos, canta libre.
I got music runnin in my head,
Makes me feel like a young bird flyin,
cross my mind and layin in my bed,
Keeps me away from the thought of dyin.
Canta libre, canta vida, de mi madre y mi padre.
I got music runnin in my brain,
Evry song with its own kind of meaning,
Cleanse the soul and wash away the pain,
Baptized by the song that youre singing.
Canta libre, canta la vida,
Siempre conmigo, canta libre.
Canta libre, canta la vida.
Canta mi corazon, paralos ninos, y sus ninos, canta libre,
De mi madre, y mi padre, canta libre, canta libre.

Sonnet: Modern Poetry
Is modern ultimate in any field?
There’s no music or Rhyme in ‘Vers Libre’,
What could poems without melody yield?
It is a drab, uninteresting tray!
How long could readers read on free verses?
Invariably, it makes not much of sense;
’Tis like Mother Nature, treeless/ bird less!
’Tis like a gardenless house with a fence.
Oh, how good the yester-year poets were!
What beauty they showed by using meter?
Imagism cannot suffice, I fear!
Poems aren’t modern in the ‘vers libre’.
The older poems are the best to read;
The Blank verses for very long can’t lead.

Hey What's Wrong With Me
Hey just what's with me
You've been looking far too good to me
I know our love could never be now
My heart it keeps on beating
I know that you've been cheating
I know our love could never be now
I tried how I tried
to keep you satisfied
by me Oh gee
you go from me and how I cried

Read rare response in script alliteration
Ease of flow's quintessence with insight
Sharing sows, - no picayune tune blight,
Or spilt ink despite modernization,
Nor undecided prose pose-pour oration.
As mannequins, lines anorexic quite
Try vers libre leaf on verse tree's bright delight
Each unaware in French 'vers' true translation
Shows 'stripped' 'line' 'worms' 'to', 'at', 'round' 'verse' narration.
Concentrate as resonate wor[l]ds light
Resplendent in their story's glory's flight,
Ideas spin through this contest dedication.
Pictures metaphorical employ
Threads, word bank rich, in stitches this enjoy.

Louise
[english verse]
The way you speaak - into my ear
The way I feel when I know you
Are near
Something so good, it must be wrong
Louise ---be true to me
[french verse]
[chorus]
When I think about what Ive missed
Without you Id cease to exist
If you leave me, lord I would cry
Three weeks best, Id curl up and die
Be true to me, temoi cherie, louise, louise
I - yi - yi
[chant verse]
Have you seen my baby
Yes, all the time
Then you know its true
What - Im in love
How can you be so sure
What - tell the truth
Does it come from your heart
Yes it does
Where
Deep inside
Where
From the center
Good
Best of luck, and you will need
Plenty of that

Sonnet: Against Modern Poetry
If Poetry is ‘right words in right place, ’
Blank verse is not the best of Poetry!
It has a rhythmless/ meterless pace;
Where is the passion, art and beauty?
In construction, ’tis simulating prose;
Rhymeless, it has no music and is mute;
Just images, ’tis unscented a rose!
Without melody is it called a lute?
Where are the logic and the argument?
’Tis a train run on a meterless gauge!
Where is the moral? Where is the accent?
‘Vers libre’ is a parrot in a cage!
It fades like any other ‘mod’ fashion;
’Tis not holistic art but a fraction!

Try It
(clarke / hicks / nash)
Travel by the silver line
To a place that has no time.
Why dont you try it now?
Working hard to see the light,
Let your mind take up in flight.
Why dont you try it now?
Its beautiful, seeing all the colors of the rainbow,
Beautiful, covering the people that we know.
See the color of health
Flowing from your older self.
Why dont you try it now?
Living good, stopped playing games,
Traveling the astral planes.
Why dont you try it now?

Unshackled Thoughts on Chivalry, Romance, Adventure, Etc.
Yesterday afternoon, while I was walking on Worth Street,
A gust of wind blew my hat off.
I swore, petulantly, but somewhat noisily.
A young woman had been near, walking behind me;
She must have heard me, I thought.
And I was ashamed, and embarrassedly sorry.
So I said to her: "If you heard me, I beg your pardon."
But she gave me a frightened look
And ran across the street,
Seeking a policeman.
So I thought, Why waste five hours trying to versify the incident?
Verse libre would serve her right.

Veneno
Sobre ti
sobre mi
o de estrellas que se funden
si eres tu
si es el sol
o es la luna
Si es temor
si es rencor
o la falsa indiferencia
de una mancha de lluvia
en tu memoria
Amanece otra vez
y las horas
se hacen tibias
se desangran las sombras
perfumadas
Una araa gigante
dando vueltas en el aire
una bola de niebla
contraataca
Hablemos de luces
sabemosde nada
hablemos de cosas de verdad
de lo mortal
A veces tan triste
y a veces tan libre
veneno la confusion
veneno yo
Sobre ti
sobre mi
o de estrellas que se funden
si eres tu
si es el sol
o es la luna
Hablemos de luces
sabemosde nada
hablemos de cosas de verdad
de lo mortal
A veces tan triste
y a veces tan libre
veneno la confusion
veneno yo
a veces tan libre
y a veces tan triste
veneno la confusion
veneno yo

Be Good To You
[verse 1:]
Ill never hurt you - oh!
And you will never shed a tear for me
I know youre tired of
Being in and out of love with nothing to show,
And nowhere to go, but
Back to the same one only with a different face
But now you are in a different place
And if my words dont comfort you
Time will surely prove,
That Ill do just what I say
[hook:]
Ill only be good to you
(only be good to you)
Be like I should to you
(be like I should to you)
Be everything (everything) to you bring you nothing but the good stuff
Ill give you good love
Ill only be good to you
(Ill only be good to you)
Be like I should to you
(be like I should...be like I should)
Be everything to you, said Ill be good to you, only be good to you
(good to you - oh)
[verse 2:]
You say its too good to be - too good
And I agree that the way it seems
Except for my instinct telling me its something else
Its not a rebound or playground
But something thats real
Ive got so much to give you
So dont you dare hesitate to receive it
If my words dont comfort you
Time will surely prove,
That Ill do what I say and more
[hook]
[bridge:]
Ill always be there when you fall
Never doubt my heart at all
Its you that Ive chosen, you are my focus
And this aint no phony disguise
You can see if you look down deep
Theyll be nothing but good love
Good love coming from me - oh
[hook]

You Can Contribute A Verse
Contribute a verse, contribute a verse,
Who can contribute a verse?
Contribute a verse, contribute a verse,
You can contribute a verse.
You may be an underpaid lab’rer,
Streetsweeper or overworked nurse,
A migrant without any papers,
But you can contribute a verse.
You left school at sixteen with no GCSEs?
Did you graduate from Oxford with a First?
Makes no diff’rence, not one bit, for you both are fully fit,
Well-equipped to lay before the world a verse.
You may have no notes in your wallet,
You may have no coins in your purse,
No shoes on your feet, no breakfast to eat,
But you can contribute a verse.
Are you feeling sad and lonely,
In the depths of misery?
Do you feel this Life we’re living
Is not worth the entrance fee?
Are you sure that things will not get any better?
Quite persuaded they will go from bad to worse?
No great problem, drama, crisis, doesn’t matter,
As long as you can come up with a verse.
And it’s possible you’ve heard that our days upon this earth
Are not many, are not many, precious few.
We have hardly enough time to take in all of the sights,
Or do the things that we would like to do.
For we’ve barely crawled out of the cradle,
Then they cart us away in a hearse.
So, in the meantime don’t be idle:
Be sure to contribute a verse!

Desvanecer
Desvanecer
Vienes hacia mi,
Lentamente sin hablar
Solo mirar
Que misterio hay en tus
Ojos y tu soledad
Ahora estas aqui
Esperando una verdad
Que no vendr
Es mejor asi, saber que
La pasin vive
No extiendas tus alas
No te quiero ver
Desvanecer
No temas a nada
No te quiero ver
Desvanecer
Quieres repetir
La pregunta que jamas
Respondi
Es mejor asi saber que
Puedo ser libre, libre
No extiendas tus alas
No te quiero ver
Desvanecer
No temas a nada
No te quiero ver
Desvanecer

Has Logrado Olvidar
Cuando emociones olvidadas vuelves a sentir
La alegra respaldece como el sol
Tu corazn esta contento y vuelves a empezar has logrado olvidar?
Cuando momentos del pasado vuelves a vivir
Y no sientes amargura al recordar
Con tu sonrisa la tristeza puedes disipar has logrado olvidar?
Otra vez te sientes libre
Puedes dar tu amor a otro y conquistar
De nuevo la felicidad de ayer
Cuando a solas tu te encuentres, puedes evitar
Las memorias que te hicieron llorar
Mira slo hacia el futuro y siempre encontrars
Que has logrado olvidar
Otra vez te sientes libre, puedes dar
Tu amor a otro y conquistar de nuevo la felicidad de ayer has logrado olvidar? has logrado olvidar?
Otra vez te sientes libre, puedes dar
Tu amor a otro y conquistar de nuevo la felicidad de ayer has logrado olvidar? has logrado olvidar?

Cuba Libre
the place that I come from
I barely remember
the place that I come from
I barely remember
but the soul of my people
will be with me forever
the soul of my people
will be with me forever
swept by an ocean of beautiful memories
swept by an ocean of beautiful memories
of people and places
that I carry with me
of people and places
that I carry with me
the place that I come from
I barely remember
the place that I come from
I barely remember
but the soul of my people
will be with me forever
the soul of my people
will be with me forever
you're hard to forget
though we're apart
you live in my heart
quiero mi Cuba libre (I want my Cuba free)
pa que la gente pueda (so that the people can)
pa que mi gente pueda bailar ( so that my people can dance)
quiero mi Cuba libre
pa que la gente pueda
pa que mi gente pueda bailar
I pray that the rain will
bathe you in freedom
only music and laughter
be heard on the breeze
and forever after our dance wil continue
and I will at last
get to see you again
you're hard to forget
though we're apart
you live in my heart
quiero mi Cuba libre
pa que la gente pueda
pa que mi gente pueda bailar
quiero mi Cuba libre
pa que la gente pueda
pa que mi gente pueda bailar

Song Of A Rhyming Man
I love the sound of rhyming words like Dan will rhyme with Ann
And I could never be a poet just call me rhyming man
This modern verse too much for me it's way above my head
Though modern poets are now the rage and Rhyme is with the dead.
I love the sound of rhyming words, I love the verse that rhyme
To blank or free or non rhyme verse prefer it every time
And there's many who will disagree and most will say I'm wrong
But give me ballad or rhyme verse or good old rhyming song.
You may say I am limited and with you most will agree
That I'm not into modern verse of twenty first century
But I've been an old style rhyming man since nineteen seventy three
And I am in my sixties now and there's no changing me.
I love the sound of rhyming words like Dan will rhyme with Ann
And I could never be a poet just call me rhyming man
And I am guilty of no sin and I can't see no crime
In liking sound of rhyming verse and loving words that rhyme

So Far So Good
Written by r&m gibb/r. lawrence
Verse 1
With these words we speak of love
Its hard for us to end
Its all a fallacy
That people do pretend
Release 1
The changes that I see
I tremble and I shake
Were down in history
For only one mistake
Chorus
So far so good
So far so good
Twentieth century , sole survivor
So far so good
No neighbourhood
I cant escape your fire
Verse 2
I wont be far away
Dont worry about the night
And I will take away
The trouble in your life
Release 2
When danger follows
It will take you by surprise
No desert island
You can run to when you hide
Chorus
Bridge
Its such a tragedy
To fight for what we cannot win
And all our golden days are gone forever

Key To The Highway
(by charles segar and willie broonzy)
I got the key to the highway,
Billed out and bound to go.
Im gonna leave here running;
Walking is most too slow.
Im going back to the border
Woman, where Im better known.
You know you havent done nothing,
Drove a good man away from home.
Live verse: when the moon peeks over the mountains
Ill be on my way.
Im gonna roam this old highway
Until the break of day.
Oh give me one, one more kiss mama
Just before I go,
cause when I leave this time you know i,
I wont be back no more.
