Into My Skin
tossing petals
downwind
attracts wing hunters
thought of crums
from morning leftover
i keep to myself
words spoken
that you and me heard
rousing giggles beneath those palms
within unblinking eyes
of a raven
i loosen my laces
letting my shoes fall
feeling sharp stubs of grass
sending painful
stings to my brain
like those new manicured
fingernails
of yours
digging into my skin

The Window of Vulnerability
Sure today it could come in a fast plane
named perhaps for the pilot's mother,
the city ends in a smear in the road
and that in a child's shoe. No one
will say aboard the Missouri all these
proceedings are now closed, by nightfall
hours beyond zero no one remarks
it was grey, it had no beauty at all.
Now what to do with these postal districts
drifting downwind? It would be
routine enough on the autopilot,
flying home till there's no home to fly to.
An Angel Walks In Snowdrifts
On cashmere snows
An angel walks in snowdrifts.
It's here; she weaves no tracing steps
Those wolves or roe deer trackers can follow.
Just, when the winds fall hush…
Downwind, she watches, over us…
Just as the icicle hangs in orbit she to hovers
She glides and settles, directly above us.
On a whispered thread!
The world is hung, upon a silent breath…
And the sluggish stopped heart beats on anew
As wind, and snow and her wings flutter on aglow.

Holidays with the family
Johnny wants a brand new car
Susie wants to hit the bar
Mindy wants to be a star
Cindy just goes too far
I just flew in from mars
Sit at the table and eat some turkey
My family only likes beef jerky
They really are quite quirky
Aunt Jane, she`s just a pain
Uncle Jack just follows the pack
Jim just hits on Kim
Happy holidays to him
Has anyone seen Tim
He`s in the pool taking a swim
Where`s everyone been?
When the tree still needs to be trimmed
Uncle Jerry just farted downwind
Uncle bill drank all the gin
Fat Jim needs to hit the gym
Family dinner with all the winners
Oh boy can`t wait to finish
Before mom starts a fire
No one can extinguish

The king's chaff is better than other folk's corn.
Who sows wheat with the devil will get its chaff.
Little grain have I collected from a mass of chaff.
A king's chaff is worth more than other men's corn.
