Be what you are

Cats don’t imitate tigers;
Ducks don’t imitate swans;
Cocks don’t imitate peacocks.
Must you imitate to live up?

A Real Hero

A REAL HERO
Some people come into our life and quickly go. Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.
We admire some people because they are good at what they do and we want to be like them.
Both actions and character are keys to what it takes to be a hero. Perhaps a person is your hero because he or she is extremely honest, or may be that person fought to improve a bad situation or helped someone in great need.
Recipe of a hero: Although heroes are unique, there is a common denominator. A hero makes a difference to the lives of others, often without fanfare. The influence of a hero's actions can live long after the actual deeds are forgotten.
A hero models the great possibilities of the human spirit. This can help us discover our own talents and heroic qualities.
But remember: Heroes are only human. They may not do everything right all the time.
Learning to understand their mistakes and putting them into perspective is a sign of maturity. So imitate the good in others, while always trying to be our own unique best selves.

Insist on yourself never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life's cultivation but of the adopted talent of another you have only an extemporaneous half possession... Do that which is assigned to you, and you cannot hope too much or dare too much.

on IMitation (will that anger you?)

L'imitazione del male supera sempre l'esempio; comme per il contrario, l'imitazione del bene e sempre inferiore.]

Respicere exemplar
vitae morumque jubebo
Doctum imitatorem,
et veras hinc ducere voces.

Pindarum quisquis studet aemulari,
lule ceratis ope Daedalea Nititur pennis,
vitreo daturus Nomina ponto.

Dociles imitandis Turpibus ac pravis omnes sumus
C'est un betail servile et sot a mon avis Que les imitateurs.]

Der Mensch ist ein nachahmendes Geschopf.
Und wer Vorderste ist, fuhrt die Heerde.

Paradoxically though it may seem,
it is none the less true
that life imitates art far more
than art imitates life.

Imitation is suicide.

One who imitates what is bad always goes beyond his model; while one who imitates what is good always comes up short of it.

No man ever yet became great by imitation.

Everything that irritates us about others can lead us
to an understanding of ourselves.

Most people are other people.
Their thoughts are someone else's opinions,
their lives a mimicry,
their passions a quotation.

Those who do not want to imitate anything,
produce nothing.

To be as good as our fathers we must be better,
imitation is not discipleship

Insist on yourself; never imitate.

Posterity weaves no garlands for imitators.

Imitation, if noble and general,
insures the best hope of originality.

And now, weigh the pros and cons
why have i imitated you
and you imitating me

the great writers
above speak beforehand before us

and i have not heard ever
one of them complaining
or angry

perhaps
they are not to shortsighted
insecure
and shallow and short-tempered

precisely, they are great.

and here's the last saying for the day:

Imitation is the sincerest flattery.

Sin.....

I've seen greatness
i love it,
i feel the wings
of the eagles of
this land

i, decrepit and
aging
lowly
creature of the
cold and slum
marvel on the
sharp claws of the great minds
ahead of me

I've seen them live
on the ivory towers
of their heads

i come late
and people ask the reason
why i seem
to rejoice
on that predicament

i bring no explanation
i have no flowers in my hands

i believe in myself
and though i worship great minds
i do not
imitate them
their passions and fame
are all theirs
they deserve a name carved
on marbles
and stones
on bold letters of gold
and embellished with
chunks of
polished diamonds

i repeat
i do not imitate them
i am like no other
i am original
like sin.

I Will Never Accept the Unknown I Am Not

There is one thing about who I am,
I do know.
I know I will never accept the unknown I am not.

Nor will I let gossip and rumors upset me.
Especially the ones I don't like...
And did not start myself.

I hate it when someone tries to imitate,
My creativity.
Without one thing unique about it to offer.

God sometimes grants your prayer to punish you....

do not insist. God has a way of punishing
your unreasonable widow
persistence, the Greeks are warned
about Wooden Horses,
and Achilles' heels,
do not insist. Don't you know that sometimes
God grants prayers
purposely to punish
those who are hardheaded?
Pray what God wills you to be.
Do not insist.
God knows better
Before you were born
He knows what is in store for you
Till the last
breath. Till you dropp dead.
So do not insist
Natural laws cannot be compromised.
Legal laws maybe.
Man made ones, those that twist
and pride on
Compromises.

Do not insist. Let God flow inside your
Heart. Let the seeds grow
As he sets the fertile soil
of the mind
As he gives the light in your
Sun.
As he prunes and cuts
and Makes you
The most beautiful tree
within the forest of your tangled
hairs.

Over Medicating With A Self Importance

We can't imitate the living of life.
We can,
However.
Prevent others from doing so.
To limit eventually,
Our own growth process.
And the evidence of that,
Does not need a tour guide.

We can't imitate the living of life.
Nor can we insist what is not visible exists.
But so much of life lived is not visible...
To expose to anyone to prove it being done.

Most of life lived when given,
Is based on sheer faith and confidence.
Patience and the giving of sacrificial time.
With the knowing in one's mind.
Something divine is keeping track of the mess,
Human beings have made in attempts to perfect nonsense.

We can't imitate the living of life.
Once one has been blessed with it.
There is something genuine and real,
About the feelings one has.

We can,
However.
Prevent others from doing so.
To leave them to live their own lives.
And allow others to learn and grow,
For the sharing of those experiences.

But many don't get this!
Without that interdependence.
We limit eventually,
Our own growth process.
And the evidence of that,
Does not need a tour guide.

We would rather destroy other lives,
With the enforcement of values and standards...
We perceive with beliefs are best for others,
When in fact.
We are hard pressed to show any evidence,
To convince within our own minds.
Of that working for ourselves.

But an over medicating with a self importance?
We can do with the right prescription.
Not to take but to test.
With the observing of the affects on others.
To arrive at a feeling of perfection.
And that,
As of yet.
Can not be found.
However.
We can always say,
What we believe has been achieved.

Poets’ Occupation

You insist on some occupations to grasp,
Yet lying has happened for some time.
The understanding is full, fulfilling us,
As men who bear the pains insist on us.

The warriors of controversy shake us
Around the jugular veins, where there is a deity;
The deity is wrong, fulfilling nobody
Just as skies are around to tempt.

May we insist on the men of old,
Poets who are strong and never gaining;
The ends of the story are folded
Into many chambers of the heart.

Do not feel you are special, let others feel so

It is natural that
Each one of us is
Special and unique
In his or her own way
Problem it becomes
When we feel strongly about it
And when no others
Come up and tell
You are special

We all do things
But will not do things
The same way others do
We have our own way
And style of doing that
Others gauge our performance
Based on the quality of the outcome
Punctuality, consistency
And very importantly
Our attitude to what we do
All of us differ in all these aspects
And in that we stay special and unique

It is but human nature
To expect others to
Recognize what is done
And come out with a word of appreciation,
Which is a sort of motivation
But others are not that generous
To tell great things about what you have done
Often they are quick to find out
The lapses in your performances
This is where, all of us get stuck
And feel bad about it

You have the right to feel
You are special and unique
But do not expect others
To feel that
You can, however, make them feel so
And recognize your great things
By the quality of performance and
Your attitude towards it

Do not feel special about you
Let others do so
By your excellence

My Mom is So Special

My mom is so special,
My mom is so unique,
Her certain errands make me freak.
My mom offers a glass of milk,
which without hesitation,
i put in sink.
I say i want burger, pizza, chowmin,
She says its not considered healthy in our kin.
She cooks 'something special' to give us surprise,
but from fridge i steal it,
as if its my birth right.
At times we fight,
because each of us feel,
'i am' right.
She cribs on to watch saas bahu saga,
but i insist better than it is 'alam ara'.
i tell her about my tensions,
my college life,
but housemaid is what her interest is like.
Oh god!
I wonder at times,
what a strange creature she is?
Mumma says 'baby stay at home,
on roadside its not safe for you to roam.'
I am obstinate, i am stubborn,
i ignore her and move out,
but everytime a new lesson i learn.
I realise mom is true in her advice,
its not 'as we' think of life.
My mom is so special,
my mom is so unique,
One can't be comfortable,
as much as with her i feel.

I Will Not! !

I see no reason to conform
to what’s accepted as the norm.
It’s not mere eccentricity
I see the world quite differently.
I have a brain and I can choose
what to accept what to refuse
I am prepared to listen to
other peoples point of view.
The average man does not exist
despite what experts may insist.
Each one of us is quite unique
.Remember this before you seek
to conform to the common view
There can be only one of YOU.

Niccolo Machiavelli

A wise man ought always to follow the paths beaten by great men, and to imitate those who have been supreme, so that if his ability does not equal theirs, at least it will savor of it. Let him act like the clever archers who, designing to hit the mark which yet appears too far distant, and knowing the limits to which the strength of their bow attains, take aim much higher than the mark, not to reach by their strength or arrow to so great a height, but to be able with the aid of so high an aim to hit the mark they wish to reach.
