Butterfly Collector

Stuck behind,
Only watching,
She moves fleetingly,
I’m only watching.

The glass between us,
Only watching,
The gulf behind us,
I’m only watching.

I don’t want to be
A butterfly collector,
I don’t want to be
Just a butterfly collector.

The class between us,
Only watching,
She moves on the street,
I’m only watching.

I don’t want to be
A butterfly collector,
I don’t want to be
Just a butterfly collector.

I want to be somewhere else,
I want to be far away,
I want to be somebody else,
Because I don’t want to be a butterfly collector.

I don’t want to be
A butterfly collector,
I don’t want to be
Just a butterfly collector.

I don’t want to be,
I don’t want to be,
I don’t want to be,
I don’t want to be a butterfly collector.

Shes a star collector (collector of stars)
She only sims to please young celebraties.
Shes a star collector (collector of stars)
How can I love her, when I just dont respect her?

Oh Collector

Oh collector I'm so sorry
You had the notion that I was rolling
In the money no I'm sorry
But I'll pay you
No Worry
Let's Sing Softly
Let's Sing Softly
Oh so softly
Not so heavy
I've been heavy with my fortune
Like a crystal and a hammer
I'm so sorry Oh collector
I'm away now in a hurry
Repeat Chorus
Get up all you fighters
Don't you lie here now
Oh collector you had it coming
It was that funny we were rolling
Oh collector we're so sorry
And we'll pay you
No Worry
Repeat Chorus x3

Devil's Haircut

Something's wrong 'cause my mind is fading
And everywhere I look there's a dead end waiting
Temperature's dropping at the rotten oasis
Stealing kisses from the leperous faces

Heads are hanging from the garbage man trees
Mouthwash jukebox gasoline
Crystals are pointing at a poor man's pockets
Smiling eyes ripping out of his sockets

Got a devil's haircut in my mind
Got a devil's haircut in my mind
Got a devil's haircut in my mind
Got a devil's haircut in my mind

Love machines on the sympathy crutches
Discount orgies on the dropout buses
Hitching a ride with the bleeding noses
Coming to town with the brief case blues

Got a devil's haircut in my mind
Got a devil's haircut in my mind
Got a devil's haircut in my mind
Got a devil's haircut in my mind

Something's wrong 'cause my mind is fading
Ghetto-blasting disintegrating
Rock 'n' roll

The Butterfly Hunter

O hunter
butterfly collector
let us be
We got a life
we love to fly
and we got family

O don’t catch us
don’t bottle us
don’t gas us
let us be

we love to fly
and we love to bring joy
to poets in gardens;
we love to bring laughter
to children in the fields

O please, Collector
do not bring death to us

O hunter
butterfly collector
let us be
We got a life
we love to fly
and we got family

Long John Brown and Little Mary Bell

Little Mary Bell had a Fairy in a Nut
Long John Brown had the Devil in his Gut
Long John Brown lovd Little Mary Bell
And the Fairy drew the Devil into the Nut-shell
Her Fairy skipd out and her Fairy skipd in
He laughd at the Devil saying Love is a Sin
The devil he raged and the Devil he was wroth
And the devil enterd into the Young Mans broth
He was soon in the Gut of the loving Young Swain
For John eat and drank to drive away Loves pain
But all he could do he grew thinner and thinner
Tho he eat and drank as much as ten Men for his dinner
Some said he had a Wolf in his stomach day and night
Some said he had the Devil and they guessd right
The fairy skipd about in his glory Joy and Pride
And he laughd at the Devil till poor John Brown died
Then the Fairy skipd out of the old Nut shell
And woe and alack for Pretty Mary Bell
For the Devil crept in when The Fairy skipd out
And there goes Miss Bell with her fusty old Nut

Devil With The Black Dress On

Wash off those scabs dear
or fingernail pick them clean
Pray to all your long lost demons
and justify your means

Devil has a new shape
Devil has a new ride
Devil has a problem but he locks it up inside
Shit angel

Kids sure like the devil these days
and I'm the devil with the black dress on
Do you want to own me angel
cause I own you now you're gone

Kids sure like the devil these days
and I'm the devil with the black dress on
Do you want to hate me angel
cause I hate you now you're gone

Did you believe it cause I said so
Did you believe it was true
Did you believe it cause I said so angel
I sure lied to you

Did you believe it cause I said so
Did you believe it was true
I'm eternal and infernal and I sure lied to you
Shit angel

Kids sure like the devil these days
and I'm the devil with the black dress on
Do you want to own me angel
cause I own you now you're gone

Kids sure like the devil these days
and I'm the devil with the black dress on
Do you want to hate me angel
cause I hate you now you're gone

Good girl with the black eyes
Believe in future past
Everything that I want happens
See how long that lasts

Devil has a hot rod
Devil high on speed
Devil has a black dress
So her arms can bleed

Kids sure like the devil these days
and I'm the devil with the black dress on
Do you want to know me angel
cause I know you now you're gone

Kids sure like the devil these days
and I'm the devil with the black dress on
Do you want to hurt me angel
cause I'm hurting now you're gone

Go go go gone
Go go go gone
Go go go go go go go
Gone

Devil eyes

You had eyes like the devil.
So red and angry.
You were by far vile.
You were and are pure evil.

You have eyes of the devil.
You are evil.
Your a match for santon himself.

All you can do is hurt little girls.
Its all you know how to do.
You hurt me and probaly others.

You had a smile of the devil.
To go with your devil eyes.
You were luaghing the whole time.
As I lay crying.
Begging you to stop.
But you were the devil.
And the devil dosent stop.

I was 11 when you had your go.
But rape was all I had known.
You werent the first
And you werent the last.

By bludy god I hate you.
Your worse than the devil.
But you have the devils eyes

When I Was The Devil

When I was the devil
I sent many a devil
To my brother the devil
In Hell his abode.
.
When I was the devil
I lived half my years
In darkness and fear
I never had rest.
.
So glad I found Christ
Who brought me light
Never again shall
I wander from your sight.

I’m So Proud Of My Murali Boy

I’m so proud of my son Murali
cos he’s always thinking smart
and efficient

I asked him the other day:
“Sonny boy
dear Murali
What’d you like to be
when you grow up? ”

And he says to me:
“I’ll be a garbage collector, Daddy”

And I say to him:
“O my dear boy -
why a garbage collector
of all the jobs? ”

And my little boy Murali
says, smart as he always is:
“Oh, Dad,
look at them:
they have such big trucks
and they work only once a week”

Oh yes, I’m so proud
of my little Murali

The Mirror

'Alas!' said the devil, said he to me
And his swart face drooped with care
'Life is a liar, a cheat,' said he
'And the end of it all - despair.
Why mourn you here, poor pawn of the Fates?
The way lies ready: the hemlock waits.
And I'll give you a toast ere you seek release:
'To Death, the gentleman, crowned with peace'!'

'Have done, smart devil!' I made reply.
'Have done with your air of gloom.
The world seemed dreary for such as I
Ere you came into the room.
I was ready, I own, for the crowning sin,
But your foolish babbling makes me grin.
Yet the poisoned cup might I e'en now quaff;
But how can I drink when I want to laugh?

'Poor fool!' moaned the devil. 'Vain words you lisp,
Dull dupe of an ancient lie.
What seek you here but a will-o'-the-wisp,
Mocking you till you die?
For the world's gone mad and the nations rave.
Choose! An ugly dream, or a peaceful grave.
You shall thirst, you shall starve while the earth you roam.
Ah, pick up the dagger and drive it home.'

'Oh, foolish devil!' I made reply.
'Thus to defeat you end,
With your woeful visage and wistful eye:
I could greet you now as a friend.
For, as in a mirror, I now have seen
The fear-crazed fool that I might have been.
Come; tell me some more of this cheerless earth.'
But the devil was gone; and I shrieked with mirth.

Hell in Texas

The devil, we're told, in hell was chained,
and a thousand years he there remained,
and he never complained, nor did he groan,
but determined to start a hell of his own
where he could torment the souls of men
without being chained to a prison pen.

So he asked the lord if he had on hand
anything left when he made the land.
The lord said, 'yes, i had plenty on hand,
but i left it down on the Rio Grande.
The fact is, old boy, the stuff is so poor,
i don't think you can use it in hell anymore.'

But the devil went down to look at the truck,
and said if it came as a gift, he was stuck;
for after examining it careful and well
he concluded the place was too dry for hell.
So in order to get it off his hands
god promised the devil to water the lands.

For he had some water, or rather some dregs,
a regular cathartic that smelt like bad eggs.
Hence the deal was closed and the deed was given,
and the lord went back to his place in heaven,
and the devil said, 'i have all that is needed
to make a good hell.' And thus he succeeded.

He began to put thorns on all the trees,
and he mixed the sand with millions of fleas,
he scattered tarantulas along all the roads,
put thorns on the cacti and horns on the toads;
he lengthened the horns of the texas steers
and put an addition on jack rabbit's ears.

He put little devils in the bronco steed
and poisoned the feet of the centipede.
The rattlesnake bites you, the scorpion stings,
the mosquito delights you by buzzing his wings.
The sand burrs prevail, so do the ants,
and those that sit down need half soles on their pants.

The devil then said that throughout the land
he'd manage to keep up the devil's own brand,
and all would be mavericks unless they bore
the marks and scratches and bites by the score.
The heat in the summer is a hundred and ten,
too hot for the devil and too hot for men.

The wild boar roams through the black chaparral,
it's a hell of a place he has for hell;
the red pepper grows by the bank of the brook,
the Mexicans use it in all that they cook.
Just dine with a greaser and then you will shout,
'I’ve a hell on the inside as well as without.'

devil In Heaven

The devil is weak,
The devil is ill,
The devil is dying.

The clergy comes around,
The clergy offers prayers,
The clergy offers him the keys to heaven.

The devil collects the key,
The devil dies and soon is at the gate of heaven,
The devil unlocks the gate and now he’s in heaven.

The angels on guard knew him as a devil, but
The angels on guard made no attempt to stop him,
The angels on guard even said 'welcome'.

The devil is in heaven, ‘coz
The clergy gave him the key,
The clergy asked us to let him,
The clergy asked God to let him,
The key made the guards to let him,
Now the devil is in heaven,
And there’s nothing even the Devil can do about it.

One flatters the poor with alms
And earn merits undeserved.

Poor Boy

Never sing for my supper
I never help my neighbour
Never do what is proper
For my share of labour.
Im a poor boy
And Im a rover
Count your coins and
Throw them over my shoulder
I may grow older
Nobody knows
How cold it grows
And nobody sees
How shaky my knees
Nobody cares
How steep my stairs
And nobody smiles
If I cross their stiles.
Oh poor boy
So sorry for himself
Oh poor boy
So worried for his health.
You may say every day
Where will he stay tonight.
Never know what I came for
Seems that Ive forgotten
Never ask what I came for
Or how I was begotten.
Im a poor boy
And Im a ranger
Things I say
May seem stranger than sunday
Changing to monday.
Nobody knows
How cold it flows
And nobody feels
The worn down heels
Nobodys eyes
Make the skies
Nobody spreads
Their aching heads.
Oh poor boy
So worried for his life
Oh poor boy
So keen to take a wife.
Hes a mess but hell say yes
If you just dress in white.
Nobody knows
How cold it blows
And nobody sees
How shaky my knees
Nobody cares
How steep my stairs
And nobody smiles
If you cross their stiles.
Oh poor boy
So sorry for himself
Oh poor boy
So worried for his health.
You may say every day
Where will he stay tonight.
Oh poor boy
So worried for his life
Oh poor boy
So keen to take a wife.
Oh poor boy
So sorry for himself
Oh poor boy
So worried for his health
Oh poor boy.
