When fava beans are flowering, apply water in torrents.
Related quotes
A man could die just cultivating fava beans and the kitchen garden.
Whoever seeds fava beans without using fertilizer, shouldn't count on having much to eat.
Do you want to experience real thirst? Then try eating bitter cardoons and roasted fava beans.
Alley
Apply, apply
no reply.
I do not know
how to apply
what to apply
I do not know
whether I am
eligible to apply
I do not know
whether there is
age limit to apply
I do not know
what is the
last date to apply.
Apply, apply
no reply.
And you find a fly
in this alley.

My beautiful flowering trees
My beautiful flowering trees
One day I shall buy some land
Plant countless seeds
And watch them grow
Into beautiful flowering trees
A cool breeze
Will bring me
Sweet fragrances
From a thousand flowering trees
I shall listen
To the songs
From birds perched
In the tall flowering trees
I shall play
With my children and theirs
In the vast expanse of green
Amongst beautiful flowering trees
One day I shall rest
Passing into oblivion
My ashes scattered
Amidst the beautiful flowering trees

A Hill
A hill is in the sky much too high,
Offering us a new scene too beautiful,
But when is the strength to apply?
We must shift and learn and amplify,
Leaving too much time that is abnormal,
A hill is in the sky much too high.
Kill the souls of the fathers that are by,
Watch for the elements of risks considerable,
But when is the strength to apply?
I shun from single mothers who fight and buy
A lesser man who burns the clothes all horrible,
A hill is in the sky much too high.
You must change your job like water, or die,
For to die is greater than to be immortal,
But when is the strength to apply?
Jostle in the sand for a gun or a plan to dissatisfy,
Finding one job is too plain and immoral,
But when is the strength to apply?
A hill is in the sky much too high.

Jelly Beans
I love my jelly beans
I even love machines
That make my jelly beans
Red, pink, purple, and blue
I will all chew
If only you knew
I'd even eat them out of my shoe
One bean, two beans, three beans, a million
I'd even eat one hundred billion
I'd eat them non stop
I'd eat them right in the candy shop
I'd eat them until my tummy would pop
You can never have to many
I never heard of anyone that didn't have any
People always have plenty
Eat until I don't have anymore
Always wish I had some more...
...Back to my candy drawer

The Screaming of The Corn
The summer was long
The summer was hot
The summer was dry
Days passed with
Not a cloud in the sky
And we had to water.
Everything that didn’t get water died.
The lawn dried up and blew away.
But the tomatoes grew and grew
And gave wave after wave
Of ruby red fruit.
We ate tomatoes until our gums were sore
Than gave the rest away
Only to find,
come morning yet more.
The pumpkin vines grew across the yard
When the cat walked by
The tendrils rose up
Like snakes and hissed menacingly.
We ate corn every day for a week
until the snap beans over powered
the corn stalks
breaking them down
Under the weight
Of fruit
And then we ate beans
And beans
And beans.
And the zucchini! ! !
The fruit grew right in front of our eyes
Not even waiting for the decency of night.
To veil it’s obscene, priapic swelling.
At night we prayed of the coming frost
And an end to this riotous fecundity.
But our dreams were filled with
feverish images of
Zucchini as big as zeppelins
Tomatoes the size of houses
And the screaming of the corn.

Beans
Beans, beans, beans
Jessie had some beans
He was happy, happy, happy
And he ate some beans
Naked, naked, naked
Sitting cross-legged
Naked, naked, naked
And he was happy, happy, happy
And he ate some beans
Wine, wine, wine
Jessie had some wine
He was happy, happy, happy
And he ate some wine
Beans, beans, beans
Daddy ate some beans
And he drank some wine
And he was happy, happy, happy
As he drank some beans

April is the time for the fava, but if not here, then surely by the sea.
Sow fava bean and flax with confidence while you still have a full silo.
My plants
My plants
are eaten
by all kinds of vermin.
There are golden beetles
that reaps
the leaves of the beans,
brown buzzing beetles turning in the air
around the tomatoes,
snails that can’t wait
and demolish the leaves
of beans, spinach
and tomatoes.
Indian miners
that feast in their beaks
as if every thing belongs to them.
Even poison that I spread out
doesn’t help a bit
and plants from Mrs. Roberts
that should keep such things in check
grows rampant
and after rains
there are weeds
everywhere,
as if my garden
was prepared only for them.
Even one of the taps breaks
causing water to spray without end
and I have trouble
to bind it down
and have to go to Builders
to get a new one
and this garden man gets fed up
and wants to pull
all of the vegetables out
one by one
and put something else
like flowers into that ground,
until my darling says:
“thank you for the beans,
spinach, carrots and tomatoes
that you placed in the bowls,
can I get a bit of parsley
to put in the salad? ”

Why? In loneliness we keep doing things
like lima beans,
loneliness ripens and from its pods
things begin to drop
soundlessly on top of the grass
the season change
and the pods rot and the beans dry in the sun
and gets wet in the rain
and then something sprouts again
another form of lonely lima beans
grow on the soil
loneliness begets loneliness
and forever keeps the cycle
the world knows this
in fact, it is this that keeps it going.

I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

Stop
she wants me
to stop spilling the beans
she wants to cook
all of them
with a little salt and seasoning
she begs
that we dine together
and eat all those
jelly beans

Nature's Acts
Who can stop nature's acts?
Tell me if you know;
And, try to open your eyes to know more about the facts of life.
Nature's acts!
And the rain came with blustery torrents;
For nobody can control nature,
And i heard the preposterous brat.
Tenements, blustery torrents in the lan dof my muse! !
Thundering with flahes of light;
And the rain came in with blustery torrents,
But, who can stop nature's own act?

Where Were You?
where were you when
i needed you?
i spilled some lima beans in my bed
and my wife shall gather them all to me
and i ask her
how many are these beans specifically
it will take her time
i spilled ketsup in my white shirt
and my wife will have to clean it for me
she will wash it
with soap and water and dry it in the sun
it will take her time
so, let me tell you i am thinking of you
while she picks the lima beans and counts them
in specific numbers
so let me tell you that i am thinking of you
when she washes my clothes and make them
all clean for me
so i will look like a decent man
let me tell frankly that i think of you while we make love
you are the bulb lighting in the darkness of my mind
i am so unkind
i am thinking of you
where were you when i needed you?
you are always in my mind.
that is your place, only in my mind
my wife is beside me.
she is concrete love to me.
your place is only in my mind
and you
cannot touch me.
like a cloud you will be here for the meantime
the right wind comes
and drifts you away
and you will no longer be in my mind
i guess things will turn out right
when the right wind comes along.
you are just a blue, ephemeral cloud.

Pork-n-Beans
Pork-n-Beans, a favorite food of any renaissance man
Afterwards, you may want to turn on the exhaust fan
I like them hot as the capital of Sudan
I like them cold straight out of the can
Pork-n-Beans are a culinary delight
Give me great pleasure with each bite
If I could, I'd dine on them every night
Handy for the refrigerator raid at midnight
Pork-n Beans should be kept readily on hand
Nuclear fallout shelter...keep them canned
Zombie attack...snack while making a stand
In-laws visit...for a evening meal unplanned
