I saw a man--and envied him beside--
Because of this world's goods he had great store;
But even as I envied him, he died,
And left me envious of him no more.
I saw another man--and envied still--
Because he was content with frugal lot;
But as I envied him, the rich man's will
Bequeathed him all, and envy I forgot.
Yet still another man I saw, and he
I envied for a calm and tranquil mind
That nothing fretted in the least degree--
Until, alas! I found that he was blind.
What vanity is envy! for I find
I have been rich in dross of thought, and poor
In that I was a fool, and lastly blind
For never having seen myself before!

Joe Doe and Hemmingway
He envied Hemmingway
everything except his death;
he envied his ability to write
neat cut prose, to travel widely,
to fight in battles and wars and
survive, to make love to beautiful
women with ease, to drink and
smoke and do as he pleased, to see
things beyond the horizon of other
dangerous worlds. He envied Ernest
everything except his death; that was
too messy, too bloody, a step too far.

Nothing which is true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; therefore we must be saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore we are saved by love. No virtuous act is quite as virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as it is from our standpoint. Therefore we must be saved by the final form of love which is forgiveness.

The most virtuous are those who content themselves with being virtuous without seeking to appear so.

So I did.
I kissed her child as she expected.
I praised my host as he expected.
I praised his work as I am supposed.
They wanted to be fooled so I did.

Virtuous Queen
1.
Virtuous Queen,
suspended by two realities:
tell us stories
of Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob.
Tell us how
you broached
the news to Joseph.
Tell us how they mocked
your immaculate conception.
Tell us of Jesus'
formative years.
2.
Virtuous Queen,
human and divine,
Mother of disciples,
teach us how to pray,
how to nurture God,
how to live the Christian life,
even when we are torn
and slaughtered.
How to love,
even when we are hated
and despised.
3.
Virtuous Queen,
robed in righteousness,
comfort us.
Radiant Majesty,
enlighten us.
Sorrow Personified,
mourn with us.
Faithfulness Exemplified,
Mother of kings,
teach us.
Matriarch of heaven,
intercede for us.
Amen!

Cantiga de Santa Maria No. 194
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
so against evil doers it is mighty and fearful.
Concerning this, a miracle happened in the land of Catalonia to a minstrel who sang well, with grace and ease, earning a good living, he came to lodge in the house of a greedy knight
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
who gave him all that he needed that night. However, that base and avaricious knight began to covet so greatly the donkey and clothes belonging to that minstrel that he ordered one of his men, evil and cruel,
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
to go with another of his group and waylay him in a hidden place in the mountains. The man did so gladly, for it was a favorite pastime of his, and I assure you, he was always eager to do dastardly deeds.
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
He took a companion of the same ilk with him. The next morning the minstrel took leave of the knight, and, as soon as he was on his way and they saw him travelling all alone, those two caught him in a steep and rocky place.
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
They dragged him far off the road and did not leave him anything of what he was carrying. Then they decided between them to cut off his head, but neither the Virgin nor Her glorious Son would permit it.
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
While the two were arguing over which one would kill him, they cast lots to see who would go first, but Holy Mary would not allow such a deed to be carried out, for the minstrel cried out loudly: "Mother of the merciful King
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
do not let them kill me, defend me without delay." They, when they heard this, began to run away and lost all feeling in their bodies at that moment so that they could not speak. The minstrel who had been robbed
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
of all he had possessed when he saw that they were in that state, staring at each other and not speaking between themselves, took all his belongings and went away and they remained in great fear of death
Just as the name of the Virgin is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
No one had ever heard tell of such a marvelous miracle that uttering the name of the Virgin might cause a man to feel nothing in his body. However, the prophet said long ago that Her name was as terrible as a mighty army.
Just as the name of the Virgin / is beautiful to the virtuous,
…
The minstrel went on his way, giving joyful praise to the glorious Virgin, salvation of sinners. All who heard of this, both great and small, considered it a noble and merciful miracle.

Because They Are No Good
Give me something that I can believe.
Give me something that I can believe.
Instead of nothing you just want to leave...
With me,
As a fantasy.
Give me something that I can believe.
Give me something that I can believe.
Instead of nothing you just want to leave...
With me,
As a fantasy.
You and me are now at risk,
Of losing all our happiness.
Since you seem to be convinced...
By someone,
To just leave me.
Give me,
Something that I can believe.
Give me,
Something that I can believe.
Instead of nothing you just want to leave...
With me,
As a fantasy.
You have found somebody new.
And you're doing your best to prove,
You don't care what it is I feel.
You don't care what I feel is real.
Give me something that I can believe.
Give me something that I can believe.
Instead of nothing you just want to leave...
With me,
As a fantasy.
You and me are now at risk,
Of losing all our happiness.
Since you seem to be convinced...
By someone,
To just leave me.
Someone who deceives me.
Someone who wants you pitied.
'Cause what we have is envied!
And you can't see we're envied!
Give me,
Something that I can believe.
Give me,
Something that I can believe.
Instead of nothing you just want to leave...
With me,
As a fantasy.
Someone who deceives me.
Someone who wants you pitied.
'Cause what we have is envied!
Believe it.
Perceive it.
They want to see us split up and leave.
Give me something that I can believe.
Give me something that I can believe.
Instead of nothing you just want to leave...
With me,
As a fantasy.
Someone who deceives me.
Someone who wants you pitied.
'Cause what we have is envied!
Believe it.
Perceive it.
They want to see us split up and leave...
Because they are,
No good.

Immortal Grace {The Da Vinci Ode}
In the portrait you see
years of legacy,
an artisans treasure
of full bountied measure.
Each dove feathered stroke
flecks a virtuous scope
of immortal grace -
on this eloquent face.
And her aura surrounds
the breadth that abounds
from the eyes that explore
as they follow yours.
Should you study her pose
you may fall self-engrossed
in her soft, subtle smile,
a hint of beguile-
'cross her lips quivered ripple,
meticulous stipple.
And with haunting expression
such stoic impression
admired and praised
As Eiffel and Pisa,
this portrait of grace -
Da Vinci's ''Lisa''.

Virtuous Women
Good Women
like Jewels Gems and Rubies
Rare and Distinguished and Unique
Virtuous Full Of The Spirit women
Kind Loving and Sweet.
Powerful Serving Women
Discerning Compassionate
and Pure
Sincere Holy Women
Biblical and Crystal Clear
Godly Dedicated Women
Committed Faithful and True
Praying, Praising, Fasting Women
Denying themselves too.
Obedient Wise Women
Who know the Voice of the Lord
Quiet Teachable Women
Who are United in One Accord.
Submissive, Honorable, Reverent Women
Who teach Daughters how to pray
Sensitive, Spirit-led Women
Who follow in God's Way
A Virtuous Women who can Find?
Where does this queen Reside
Virtuous Women are Made
and it starts from the Inside.

A Virtuous Woman II
Signs of the time,
Widespread enough to catch a mouse;
But time are chainging for you and me,
Because, the wages of sin are seen all around us!
To succeed when you have views and,
To open your eyes when you are in love;
But your beauty is like the sun of the moon! !
Beauty and love,
And like the beats of the drummer-boy!
But to love with the fiery essence is like the love of your sweet muse;
And, i have seen what my heart yearns for! !
Becasue, you are the one;
And like soul to soul and eye to eye.
A virtuous woman is what you are!
And like the joy of the sweet songs of love;
But to open my window to you is like,
Seeing the nakedness of you! !
And, i have seen what my heart yearns for.
A virtuous woman,
Two are better than one;
And like a typical farmer with a cutlass in his hand;
But, the land of the legends will always sing my muse!
Because, i was made to love all races in the name of love!
But, a virtuous woman is what you need beside you.

Who Is God, That God Needs To Be Praised?
WHO IS GOD THAT GOD NEEDS TO BE PRAISED?
Who is God that God needs to be praised?
Who are we that we are worthy of praising God?
Isn’t this Praise a form of flattery?
And how can God possibly want or need it?
We may need to praise-
Out of Gratitude
We may need to thank God
For all our blessings,
But does God want us to be flatterers
Who think to be rewarded for our praise?
I need to thank God
In that need is the Praise
But Praise alone
Makes both God and me
Seem unworthy.
I thank God
For having given me
This Poem.
If it is a poem.

As one acts and conducts himself, so does he become. The doer of good becomes good. The doer of evil becomes evil. One becomes virtuous by virtuous action, bad by bad action.

Your view of me is not in my hand
Praised for the reasonless reason
Or decried for the reasonless reason
And praised for wrong reason
Or decried for the wrong reason,
One has no control over others
As to how he should be critiqued.
It is his fortune or fate
According to which he is dealt with.
