The dead in heaven is too happy to grieve for indignities to his corpse; the dead in hell has too much else to grieve for.

Ain't Gonna Grieve
by Bob Dylan
Well, I ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
And ain't a-gonna grieve no more.
Come on brother, join the band,
Come on sisters, clap your hands,
Tell everybody that's in the land,
You ain't a-gonna grieve no more.
Well, I ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
And ain't a-gonna grieve no more.
Brown and blue and white and black,
All one color on the one-way track,
We got this far and ain't a-goin' back
And ain't a-gonna grieve no more.
Well, I ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
I ain't a-gonna grieve no more.
We're gonna notify your next of kin,
You're gonna raise the roof until the house falls in.
If you get knocked down get up again,
We ain't a-gonna grieve no more.
Well, I ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
I ain't a-gonna grieve no more.
We'll sing this song all night long,
Sing it to my baby from midnight on.
She'll sing it to you when I'm dead and gone,
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more.
Well, I ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
Ain't a-gonna grieve no more, no more
I ain't a-gonna grieve no more

All Dead, All Dead
Memories, my memories
How long can you stay
To haunt my days
She came without a farthing
A babe without a name
So much ado about nothing
Is what shed try to say
So much ado my lover
So many games we played
Through every fleeted summer
Through every precious day
All dead all dead
All the dreams we had
And I wonder why I still live on
All dead all dead
And alone Im spared
My sweeter half instead
All dead
And gone
All dead...
All dead all dead
At the rainbows end
And still I hear her own sweet song
All dead all dead
Take me back again
You know my little friends
All dead
And gone
All dead and gone
Her ways are always with me
I wander all the while
But please you must forgive me
I am old but still a child
All dead all dead
But I should not grieve
In time it comes to everyone
All dead all dead
But in hope I breathe
Of course I dont believe
Youre dead
And gone
All dead
And gone

Grief makes the beloved proud.
You were taken off my embrace.
I grieve and deeply grieve on your loss.
In grief, I experience solace.
It soothes me like your grace.
How proud you can be to notice!
As you are alive, taken of me,
I shall let you know this.
The dead are grieved over by survivors.
The dead have no recourse to surmise.
But you can. A gift to you, my beloved.

To grieve is something extremely difficult, we don't even know how to begin to grieve, and I don't know how you can be taught to grieve.

For Oil Not For Freedom
My heart goes to those who grieve for their war dead in war torn Iraq
Life when it is taken cannot be given back
Those who started this war from Iraq may live far away
But to Karma they do have a huge price to pay
For thousands of deaths in Iraq the pro war media terrorists do blame
But terrorism absent from Iraq before the invaders came
To excuse the war instigators of their crimes this is their way
Though they had started something brutal and ugly that does seem fair to say
Poor Iraqi mothers for their war dead left to grieve
The stories of a pro war media why should they believe
It does not take courage a life for to take
And the legacy of war is death, grief and heart-break
They cannot be brought back to life the Iraqi war dead
For oil not for freedom their blood has been shed

A walking corpse
I walk around like a zombie.
A reflection of a corpse.
Like Im in a body thats not mine.
A body depression has invaded.
Im a reflection of a corpse.
So numb and dead inside.
Not being able to feel.
Trapped in a body.
That once used to be mine.
Now its like its someone elses.
Im a walking corpse.
So very dead inside.
As numb as numb
Number than Ice.
Depression has over road.
And overtaken me.
Its made me like a walking corpse.
I may aswell be dead.
Thats how I feel inside.
A excellent resembalence
Of a walking corpse.
Mabey I can fight it
But that I very much doubt.
I have had to fight to many demons.
One more I cant fight this yet.
Im a walking corpse.
Dead inside.
A marvolos resembalence.
Of a walking corpse

The President Of War
With hair dyes and face lifts he covers his wrinkles and gray
The War President is in retirement today
In his beautiful home with his loyal and attractive wife
One of the very privileged minority enjoying the good life.
The President of War known to be guilty of lying
In the wars he created people still suffering and dying
But the Karma he has sown for himself he will receive
Though on such people like him are not known to believe.
To his sort of person human life is cheap
But the Karma we sow is the Karma we will reap
The war mothers grieve at the graves of their dead
Of them years of grieving and sorrow ahead.
What goes around comes around as some like to say
And the President of War for his sins will pay
Because of him many poor mothers for their dead children grieve
And the Karma he has sown for himself he will receive.

Weep For Those Left Behind
Don’t weep for me, but for those, who don’t believe in Him, who rose,
Christ, who rose from a garden tomb, to spare all of us eternal doom.
For they need your prayers instead, for they remain eternally mislead,
A prayer of hope, lifted to Him, to save them from their darkened sin.
Please don’t think I miss this place, I’m up in Heaven by God’s Grace,
It’s His Truth you need to herald, to save others from this sinful world.
Do not mourn as if I am dead, for I’m in Heaven with my Lord instead,
All the others still dead in their sin; they need His Spirit to dwell within.
They have no need to tear for me, for I have started New Life eternally,
Christ has conquered death and fear, and He’s wiped away every tear.
So they need not grieve my fate, the notion of Hell they need to hate,
All those left behind cannot afford, to continue a life without our Lord.
As it’s those who are left behind, who need to have a change of mind,
By changing what they now believe, so Eternal Truth, they can receive.
They truly need a change of heart, before from earth, they also depart,
Then they too can accept Jesus Christ, God’s only way to Eternal Life.
So all of you, who with me rejoice, help all the others with their choice,
Concerning Hell they need to shun, and their need to know God’s Son.
It’s only then, will they truly to know, that all our Savior said is truly so,
Then they shall surely rejoice with us, when in Christ they come to trust.

The Bellman
BRING out your dead before you reap
From lips beloved infection dread;
Above such brows ye dare not weep!
Bring out your dead
Into the street from breast or bed,
Lest ye too sicken into sleep
That recks not of the Bellman's tread.
Thrice foolish heart! Why do you heap
Corpse upon corpse--conspire to spread
Corruption on all else you keep?
Bring out your dead!

Death is as sure for that which is born, as birth is for that which is dead. Therefore grieve not for what is inevitable.
For that which is born death is certain, and for the dead birth is certain. Therefore grieve not over that which is unavoidable.
Heavens Dead
Anchor the night, open the sky
Hide in the hours before sunrise
Pray for me not, I won't lose sight
Of where I belong and where you lie
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Shipwreck the sun, I'm on your side
An army of one, onward we'll ride
And whisper your songs, birds to the air
We'll bury all of our burdens there
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Best time you had
For the best time you had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
I'll take it all, arrows or guns
Hundreds or more to save you from one
Save you from one
And Where I'll be
Heaven's dead when you get sad

Knock Em Dead (live)
This basket arrives to show your condolence
You hope that it finds me well and just in time
This loss was unbearable, but now I have flowers
Thoughtful happy bright arrangement
I can fall into...
Just a corpse in his place,
You only have one shot to knock 'em dead
A toast to the way he left us counting our blessings
And holding our heads...
You better speak up, you better say something
We better believe ourselves for once
'cause you never said help
You never said anything the way that we dreamed ourselves to fear
It's only in this silence
I can hear ethan screaming
all alone, all alone...
Just a corpse in his place
You only have one shot to knock 'em dead
A toast to the way he left us counting our blessings
and holding our heads...
Just a corpse in his place
You only have one shot to knock 'em dead
And I would have thought that I had more to lose than him
My skin has gone stark white and an ash covers my skin
I should have worn makeup
It seems to have worked for you

For certain is death for the born
And certain is birth for the dead;
Therefore over the inevitable
Thou shouldst not grieve.
For certain is death for the born And certain is birth for the dead Therefore over the inevitable Thou shouldst not grieve.
Trivial
sometimes, yes, sometimes
seems to be my favorite word of the day,
i like (another favorite is i, just like most of us,
i, i, i, i, i)
to trivialize a lot of events: funerals, baptisms,
even marriage,
sometimes, i ask why, why all these events and things
and people (oh yes, the people)
have become nothing but images, nothing to be
taken seriously about,
i don't grieve at the dead, they are all gone,
i don't wonder at new births, nothing to be amazed
there is nothing new,
and i don't get excited about other people's marriages
don't like to see about the slicing of the cakes
or the drinking of the wine, the releasing of the doves,
the first kiss, or the lifting of the veil,
and the much awaited catching of the bridal bouquet
of red roses
they bore me,
i don't itch and twitch,
i am numb but i am not dead yet
are you happy now?
alright, there is pain, but let me tell you
these are tolerable
and don't hurt that much anymore
with constant practice, i suppose.

Chess Like That? (Mumbai 2008)
Just another round of the chess game
Rooks and bishops fall dead on the board
Apolitical horses have gone lame
As the dead count to a hundred soared
Black and white squares are now bloody red
Grieve for the pawns who've been blown up dead
Regroup, restart, this political game
Plot a quick 'rechauffe' of the same
And then fix a duel of nuclear kings-
For aren't your motives, just a chess thing?

If I Should Die
If I should die
and you should grieve
my soul would weep
I do believe.
And knowing this
is hard to bear.
For leaving you
there is no where
to cover gloom.
But in your heart
there still is room
for memories
of how we were.
So please, my love
I ask of you
'Do not grieve
for we're not through.'

I Do Not Wish To Hear Your War Stories
Do not wish to hear your war stories of battles fought and won
Since I saw on t v this evening a mother grieve for her dead son
Her son murdered by a sniper with a bullet in his back
And I could only feel pity for this poor mother in Iraq
Of war and stories of it I do not wish to hear
Men who declare war on other people are those who rule by fear
Tell me some happy story or otherwise let me be
Your stories of war and war heroes only bore and sadden me,
Of war and it's brutality so much written and said
And in the news headlines on radio I hear of more war dead,
Tell me some happy story laughter in me provoke
Today I need a break from your war stories instead tell me a good joke
Today a mother in Iraq grieves for her murdered son
And I've heard enough of war from you of battles fought and won.

We Are But Winds
it is a fact,
love and trust
and lust and
faith,
these are
separate entities
apart from us,
and they live
forever,
and they
are still there
even when
we are already
dead
so why
grieve for
them?
they are
their own
republics,
and we are
but winds.
