In my opinion, I think sarcasm and humor in a song, without turning it into a novelty song, is really charming.

This Charming Man
Punctured bicycle
On a hillside desolate
Will nature make a man of me yet ?
When in this charming car
This charming man
Why pamper life's complexities
When the leather runs smooth
On the passenger seat ?
I would go out tonight
But i haven't got a stitch to wear
This man said "it's gruesome
That someone so handsome should care"
A jumped-up pantry boy
Who never knew his place
He said "return the rings"
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things
I would go out tonight
But i haven't got a stitch to wear
This man said "it's gruesome
That someone so handsome should care"
Oh, la-la, la-la, la-la, this charming man ...
Oh, da-da, da-da, da-da, this charming man ...
A jumped-up pantry boy
Who never knew his place
He said "return the ring"
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things
He knows so much about these things

All I can hear is another year pass me by.
They pass me by.
They pass underneath you know theres nothing to see here, except ten bridges.
They pass underneath you know theres nothing to see here, except ten bridges.
Coz when you're winning you're charming,
you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming, it wont...
You might have noticed that i've fallen down on the road,
It could happen to anyone, I know.
They pass underneath you know theres nothing to see here, except ten bridges.
They pass underneath you know theres nothing to see here, except ten bridges.
Coz when you're winning you're charming,
you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming, it wont...
You're winning you're charming,
coz when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming,
coz when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming,
when you're winning you're charming.

The Charming Month of May
It was the charming month of May,
When all the flow’rs were fresh and gay.
One morning, by the break of day,
The youthful, charming Chloe—
From peaceful slumber she arose,
Girt on her mantle and her hose,
And o’er the flow’ry mead she goes—
The youthful, charming Chloe.
Chorus:
Lovely was she by the dawn,
Youthful Chloe, charming Chloe,
Tripping o’er the pearly lawn,
The youthful, charming Chloe.
The feather’d people you might see
Perch’d all around on every tree,
In notes of sweetest melody
They hail the charming Chloe;
Till, painting gay the eastern skies,
The glorious sun began to rise,
Outrival’d by the radiant eyes
Of youthful, charming Chloe.
Chorus

Melanie
Melanie is sweet
A vision on her feet
So young so fair
A bridge of iron
Standing tall between two parted spheres
Shes a novelty of reality
Though she tried so hard
My sweet darling melanie
Shes glad for what shes had
Her mom and several dads so she complained
This modern love affair
With life can really get you down
Shes a novelty of reality
But she tried so hard my sweet darling melanie
Ooh but life goes on
Ooh the same old song
Ooh but loves in search of mystery
So you worked so hard my sweet darling melanie
Over the horizon
Birds of paradise sit in her eyes
You can feel forever on her sweet and silken sighs
Shes novelty of reality
So she tried so hard my sweet darling melanie
Na, na, na
Shes novelty of reality
So she tried so hard my sweet darling melanie
So she tried so hard my sweet darling melanie
Na, na, na...

Chance doesn't mean meaningless randomness, but historical contingency. This happens rather than that, and that's the way that novelty, new things, come about.

Novelty
Novelty.
This object.
Discussed...
As if devoid of feeling.
Blatant when shown disrespect.
Neglected like a weed.
But a flower this becomes.
Protected as it grows.
How it does it no one knows.
Reflecting no hints,
Of a torment separations felt...
That sent it grieving.
Obstacles met.
This object has no regrets.
It feels blessed,
To have survived!
No novelty is the life within,
That thrives.
And pioneers upon new horizons.
Brave and unafraid...
To be used as a preview to what comes.

A Cinderella Story' vs Reality
There is a girl and a boy,
Connected only in cyber,
Never met,
Never phoned,
How long can it last?
It is like in the movie ‘A Cinderella Story’,
Her friend said.
The girl loves him so much,
She cannot took her mind off him,
She waits in front of computer every night,
Waiting for her Prince Charming to greet.
They have known each other a year,
They lived very far apart,
It is like one is up there,
One is down the globe,
Can it last?
She wondered.
One day,
Her Prince Charming said those magical words to her,
She was barely able to breathe,
She was the happiest person on Earth,
But Prince Charming loves her as…?
On one beautiful night,
As usual,
She spent almost hours and hours in front of the computer,
Wait till Prince Charming to come,
But he did not,
She was a bit upset,
She wrote to Prince Charming,
‘You love me as what? ’
Prince Charming replied her the next day,
‘I love you as my girlfriend’,
‘Will you be mine? ’
For God’s sake,
She was absolutely wanted to be his,
‘I sure will’,
It was the best day of her life.
So, there it was,
For her,
She hopes her story does not end just like that,
She will wait for her Prince Charming,
To come to her,
In reality,
Not just in cyber,
Even if it take 100 years.
She wanted them to see,
She wanted him to take her hands,
She wanted to dance in the rain with him,
She wanted to feel his warm,
She wanted him for sure,
She will wait, she swore.
A Cinderella Story?
It is different with her story, she thought,
It is just the same,
When it comes to how they stay connected.

Happily Never After
In the beginning it feels like a fairytale
You believe there will be a happily ever after
Your Prince Charming you have finally found
And you are the beautiful Cinderella
Your hopes arise as high as the skies
Your dreams dominate your thoughts
'Mrs Prince Charming' scribbled over your mind
And nobody can tell you that 'He's wrong'
But soon you come to realise
That Prince Chraming is just what he is
He's nothing but a fictional character
Who only appears in dreams
He will never be a reality
He will never sweep you off your feet
You will meet many people who you believe are him
But somewhere you will see,
That Prince Charming is only for storybooks
He's sweet poision for little girls
I refuse to search all my life
For a man who dosen't exist in this world

The Country Girl
The Country Girl reflects at last –
And well in her young days –
For she is learning very fast,
The worth of City ways.
The emptiness of Tailors men
The women’s paltry strife
The Sham of ‘Smart Society’
Compared with Country Life.
The novelty wore off at length,
And flattered at the Ball,
She things of one who has the strength
And brains above them all.
She things of men who Live and Work
For sweetheart and for wife.
And though it be as far as Bourke’
Are true to Country Life

Aliquid novi Africa affert - Africa is always producing some novelty
Aliquid novi Africa affert.
Aliquid novi Africa affert
Reformanda....
In Terrorem
Christianos ad leones!
Africa is always producing some novelty.
Africa is always producing some novelty
Always being reformed....
As a warning; [in order to terrify others]
[Throw the] Christians to the lions!

For the pride.
I must have a girl friend, who is lovely.
I must have a wife stunningly charming.
I must own things that others envy for.
Not for needs but for pride, I do all these.

Much Like a Novelty
It seems clear to me,
I am in your mind...
Much like a novelty,
When your curiosity is there...
Sometimes!
And that's just to hear me breathe.
When you do call,
To updat me about you...
There is an instant revealing,
Unveiling the latest situations...
Your hectic life has put you through.
I may say things with me are okay.
I 'may'.
Whether that is heard or not,
Little about that you say.
Your concern for me,
Rarely focuses in my way.
And then when you are finished,
And the conversation ends...
I'm left to wonder,
Who is next on your list...
To have their ears bend?
To listen,
And not be heard at all.

Wonderland
Majestic cascades, enchant
the night
Prince charming adorned in
regal white
Unbottoned cloak floating
down
A coverlet imposing the
ground
Shivering timbers, stance
and bare
Glints of silver linger there.
A charming prince, with
wand in hand
Creating a magic wonderland.
