Kash...

kash....
Kabhi aap samajh paate
Mere shabdo ki nahi
Mere hriday ki bhasha.
Dekh paate,
Mere hotho ke muskarahat ke pare
Mere palko me chuupi ghata.
Kabhi sunte mere sannate
Ki bojhal vayatha.
Mehsoos karte
Har saaans me
bujhti,
jalti
Mere sapno ki shama.
Kabhi jaan pate
iss nashwar se deh
me base
aatman ki ankahi dastann.
Par shayad
Ye hona na tha
Hume youn tooth kar bikharna hi tha
Aap aakhir marichika ho mere ragistan ke
Yo aap ko paakar khona hi tha.
Par phir bhi
kash...
kabhi aap....-anjali

Fran Lebowitz

I must take issue with the term 'a mere child,' for it has been my invariable experience that the company of a mere child is infinitely preferable to that of a mere adult.

Human Beings

It is only love I feel
That will give us peace of heart
In my hour of desperate need
I feel closer to the one
Oh but why...
Please
Human being
If you bleed
they will say it was destined
They'll be punchin' tickets
By the minute if you fall out of line
desperate
desperate
Tell me is it death you feel
That will bring you peace of life.
Who wants
Tell me you're one of us
Tell me you're one
Tell me you're one of us
Tell me you're one
When you lose your self esteem
That's when love dies...
Ohhh...
Please human being
If you bleed
They will say that it's destined
They'll be punchin' tickets
By the minute if you fall out of line
We're mere human beings we die
So...
So...destined desperate
Well I feel
When you've reached number one
You look like you're puffing but
Really only blocking the sun...
Blocking the sun
Blocking the sun
We're mere human beings
We die
It's destined
They'll be punchin' tickets
By the minute you fall out of life
We're mere human beings we die
We're mere human beings we die
Desperate
It's destined
We're mere human beings we die
desperate
it's destined
destined
We're mere human beings we die

True Fear

Why do you ask if Im afraid
The fear of death is only an instinct
The instinct of the mere man
But if someone was to over come this fear
They will not be just mere men nomore
They will become something
Something much more greater
They will become fear itself
In the pursuit of eliminating the fear of death
You eliminated every fear withen

Except Love Life Is Meaningless

The soldier, my life, at war
Fighting the adversaries soul out there
Without any error or dearth in effort,
But at the end got ignominious defeat
In the barrack pondering deep, what is life?
Now life is hell, and death is bliss
My life, my soldier, thinks
Joy or sorrow, defeat or victory
Time eats up all and relieve in history
Two pennies more or less
Except love life is meaningless.

Victims

An unassailable victory has been in demand,
To forgo is to relax and be polite like a mummy.
To abjure the heaven is to relate to disorder,
And where is now the victory? Where now?

My victim is completely with defeat,
His victory has cancelled due to defeat
And my revenge, for it is never wrong.
Revenge gave innocence to the soul.

My living is for the one who lives the longest,
The death of the victim is important;
Likewise, the life of a victim is so great
That I need to repent and be forgiven.

Sins are a waste of time to some who denounce,
They let evils destroy us, with sins to double.
Victims of displeasures need favours of greatness,
The whole year passes without a thought for others.

Transformation (2)

at first i was just a mere word
so i transformed myself into a sentence
and then not contented with what i am
a mere sound and syllable
an idea, a conceived meaning
i opted to have some cells

i learned how to make myself many
so i got duplicates and multiples
until i began to have a body

some hands and feet until i began
to have a definite form like circles and
squares and cubes until i became a man

and then i regretted all these
i went back to what i was
a mere word
now looking still
for my own meaning.

In Gratitude to My Destiny

had always toyed with
this idea we call destiny
is it some pre-programmed stuff?
is it scripted by me?
i could never decide
whenever i felt myself
an agent of some force
i became a mere toy
in the hands of destiny that
turned me into a mere spectator and
whenever the agent took back seat
i became a proud architect
of my destiny struttering around in glory
but
...still at times
when i no longer have
the nerve to take
just another wink
i wonder what it would be
if you were with me
and at times as these
i see the invisible hand of destiny
waving her hand in victory and
giving me a wry smile at
my utter helplessness
this is how destiny
has charted its course
for me in this life...
is what i tell myself unwillingly, though...

no longer in youthful arrogance
i now see
what i'm is
what my destiny
doled out to me
in all its benevolence.

Apparent Death

WEEP, maiden, weep here o'er the tomb of Love;

He died of nothing--by mere chance was slain.
But is he really dead?--oh, that I cannot prove:

A nothing, a mere chance, oft gives him life again.

Mujhe Aaj Jaane Na Do

Rok lo
Bas, Aaj rok lo
Mujhe jaane na do.

Ke dum tood dene do
Bas tham kar haath mera
Tum raho.
Shayad,
Dard thoda kam hoga.

Rok lo,
Tumhe shayad maloom na ho
Ek chota sa gharonda hai
Hamara,
Tumhare dil he mei.
Hume youn beghar na karo.

Rok lo,
Tumhe shayad maloom na ho
Sanso se tumhare
Kahi bandhi hai bandhan
Humare sanso ki
Hume youn jeete ji dafn na karo.

Rok lo
Hume youn rooth kar jaane na do
Tumhe shayad maloom na ho
Mere nazro ke darpan me dekho
Tumhi chayya
Tumhi pratibimb mere.
Tumhi ho rab
Tumhi maseeha mere.
Tumhi jawab
Tumhi enteha mere.
Tumhi ho labzj
Tumhi khamoshi mere.
Tumhi raasta
Tumhi manzil mere.

Rok lo
Bas Aaj rok lo

the fireflies of Puerto P.

we take the boat at night
the sea is having its low tide

we are going to the place where the fireflies are mating
we trace the rivers like blood to our veins

the moon has not come at that hour
the trees along the banks are mere shadows

the fireflies are all there
glistening like stars in the heavens

there is so much silence
what we can hear is only the sound of the boat sliding on the river

i've seen for once the magic of their lights
and there i am but a mere shadow against the trees

the journey towards my childhood begins
where Papa trapped all of them inside a jar for us to marvel

how life gives light and how quick shall death take it.

Tis so much joy! 'Tis so much joy!

172

'Tis so much joy! 'Tis so much joy!
If I should fail, what poverty!
And yet, as poor as I,
Have ventured all upon a throw!
Have gained! Yes! Hesitated so—
This side the Victory!

Life is but Life! And Death, but Death!
Bliss is, but Bliss, and Breath but Breath!
And if indeed I fail,
At least, to know the worst, is sweet!
Defeat means nothing but Defeat,
No drearier, can befall!

And if I gain! Oh Gun at Sea!
Oh Bells, that in the Steeples be!
At first, repeat it slow!
For Heaven is a different thing,
Conjectured, and waked sudden in—
And might extinguish me!

Hindi Poem- Ankahi

Aaj kagaz pe syahi failane ka man to bahut hain,
Par kuch nahi hain khas,
Kash aaj main kuch likh pati,
Kash kuch keh pati,
Par pata nahi kyun,
Aaj shabd nahi hain mere pas,
Kin khayaalo ke bare me sochu main,
Jab kuch lamhe hi nahi saheje apne pas,
Kuch dhundhli yaadein bhi nahi mere sath,
Kya bayaan karu aaj jazbaat apne,
Kuch jazbaat hi nahi mere pas,
Jazbaat chodo,
Lagta hai aaj kehne ko to apni saasein bhi nahi mere pas,
Log kehte hai... jazbaat aur saasein to dil me basti hain,
Lagta hain... Aaj shayad dil hi nahi mere pas....

My Portion is Defeat—today

639

My Portion is Defeat—today—
A paler luck than Victory—
Less Paeans—fewer Bells—
The Drums don't follow Me—with tunes—
Defeat—a somewhat slower—means—
More Arduous than Balls—

'Tis populous with Bone and stain—
And Men too straight to stoop again—,
And Piles of solid Moan—
And Chips of Blank—in Boyish Eyes—
And scraps of Prayer—
And Death's surprise,
Stamped visible—in Stone—

There's somewhat prouder, over there—
The Trumpets tell it to the Air—
How different Victory
To Him who has it—and the One
Who to have had it, would have been
Contender—to die—

Assisted Suicide

Why is death with dignity seldom mentioned in our land?
Is the mere mention of assisted suicide illegal and banned?
In Oregon, Washington and Switzerland; it’s already there,
So Canadian media or politicians should not scare.

Why is this one human right denied with all government might?
Though they have abortion clinics killing babies day and night,
And a federal or provincial election almost every year,
The subject of death with dignity is avoided with great fear.

It seems as though our politicians never think that they will die,
Is this stupidity or policy where they demand we comply,
And like binding referendums, it will never be discussed,
As they look at us, mere mortals, as though with complete disgust.

Effortless Superiority

there he sits comfortably
without having to do
anything
much to my envy
he gets everything
love, fame, fortune
luxury, prestige, position
everything by the mere
color of his skin by the
mere sound of his name
by reason of his lineage
and genes and
his being
chosen

There are thousands that act both selfless and brave

There are thousands that act both selfless and brave,
some feel the planet's agony as they love beyond death,
others labour for what is right and good in what they sense
but with great incompetence man lives his mortal life,

some look as visionaries at a world beyond mere sight,
others dwell in the wonders of human form and grace
and in all of this we dwell in the darkest kind of night,
while we live, laugh and cry as members of the human race

and yet there is loveliness in what we experience,
in what we see and act upon and feel at times
as we hope and love and are caught in passion,
as if mere man was destined for something much more.
