It never occurs to some politicians that Lincoln is worth imitating as well as quoting.

Washington and Lincoln
Come, happy people! Oh come let us tell
The story of Washinton and Lincoln!
History's pages can never excel
The story of Washington and Lincoln.
Down through the ages an anthem shall go,
Bearing the honors we gladly bestow--
Till every nation and language shall know
The story of Washington and Lincoln:
Who gave us independence,
On our continent and sea
Who saved the glorious Union!
And set a people free!
This is the story--
Oh happy are we--
The story of Washington and Lincoln.
Parents to children shall tell with delight,
The story of Washington and Lincoln;
Free born and freed men together recite
The story of Washinton and Lincoln.
Earth's weary bond men shall listen with cheer--
Tyrants shall tremble, and traitors shall fear--
When, in it's fullness of glory, they hear
The story of Washington and Lincoln:
Though on the war cloud recorded with steel,
The story of Washington and Lincoln;
Peace only Peace, can completely reveal
The story of Washington and Lincoln.
Thanks to the Lord for the days we behold!
Thanks for the unsullied flag we unfold!
Thanks to us, and in our time, was told
The story of Washington and Lincoln.

A Drop of Water
Even split
Into two
It continues on
It lives forever
Imitating,
Copying
Its neighbor close by
And imitating,
Copying
Our dreams
To live on
Darwin and Lincoln - an ovation
Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln
Are, this year, two hundred years old.
Darwin’s theory shocked the religions.
Lincoln’s democracy shook the nations.
Darwin and Lincoln have made their enemies,
Who survive them to keep them alive.
Darwin and Lincoln made their theories,
Which survive them to keep them alive.
Darwin liberated us from ignorance
Let the vested interests die with age
Lincoln abolished slavery by law.
Let the spirit of tolerance rise to match.

i understand Aldo
i understand Aldo
he is talking about a certain
cynthia buhain who thinks that he is a bogus poet
imitating others
art imitating life
aldo imitating other people's words
which, out of sheer fun, i also do,
but cynthia is new,
and Aldo must also try to understand
like God
Aldo must extend the hands of compassion
the witch may live in the Philippines
if Aldo believes it so...
meantime, Aldo my friend
outstanding poet at PH
let us keep PH 7
not 14 not 1
cool man, be neutral, be cool,
there is no storm, there is no malice
let us keep being first rated mockingbirds
on top of the roof
on top of our voices
let us keep mocking!

If the press really thinks Obama is Lincoln, they ought to treat him like they treated Bush, 'cause that's how they treated Lincoln. His critics compared Lincoln to an ape; they called him an illiterate baboon.

Ms. Quoting a Diddly
Miss Quoting rode a pony,
that was too small
for her fat fanny.
It seems her legs
were a bit wobbly,
and she was eventually
put into retirement.
I know it is true because,
I myself have
visited her once or twice.
Ms. Quoting met with ignorance,
a friend of mine to whom college was attending.
Punctuation was a problem in her behavior.
So she was sentenced
to a life of ill-repute.
I received the impression
that english was not her language,
and she was literally challenged.

Why Not Be Drunk For A While?
to be drunk must
be worth trying imitating
Li Po somehow
and feeling how the world,
the night, the moon and
stars can be laid
so peacefully inside
the heart immersed
to majesty of the bubbling
margarita.

An Experiment Of Life....
life is an experiment
this poem is, was, and will always be
another experiment
imitating life, art imitating that serious life
that broken heart
mimicking pain
but can never be
the same
life is so beautiful, because of this experiment
shades of colors mixing in the atmosphere
life changing perfumes
hues,
changing shapes, birds, fish, islands
clouds,
never ending drama
conversations without end
whispers without edges
this one too, the one that you have never felt
even before
as you once closed the door
this is a cloud peeping for you
longing
drifting imitating you
changing
clothes, self, shedding off skin
snake, shark,
shoelace,
waters, sands, kiss, arms,
bodies....
just you and me
behind your nape my hush....

If we meet an honest and intelligent politician, a dozen, a hundred, we say they aren't like politicians at all, and our category of politicians stays unchanged; we know what politicians are like.

1861
On Good Friday,1861,
Fort Sumter was the first decision done,
Soon disintegration of father, brother and son,
Lincoln made his choice and then,
Down went more than 600 thousand men.
On Good Friday 1865,
Hell spawned a dream Lincoln would tell,
He dreamt of sailing to an unknown horizon,
Four years to the day, having freed the slave,
Lincoln was shot, his destination- the grave.

Moon-the Cheat
Moon refracts light of the sun
Politicians scam the lucre of the public
Moon revolves round the earth
Politicians revolve round their chairs
Moon lets only a few gases to be in its sphere
Politicians serve only for a few terms
People have a conceit to homestead on moon!
With the same notion,
why don't they enthrone a liable wight?
Propter hoc, moon and politicians have the same background
(like 2 peas in a pod)

Political Recall Nov 9th,2012
Canadian politicians like all politicians dread recall,
Whether it's federal, provincial or even city hall,
But how do we get rid of a dreadful useless politician?
And he's absolutely useless other than his/her ambition.
So a system of recall should be inaugurated now,
Though our politicians will try to stop it somehow,
Why does British Columbia have recall and we don't?
And why do they have set-date elections and our system wont?
And if that province can succeed here; why can't we?
There must be a system and somewhere someone must have the key,
Why does nobody mention it; as we get frequently swamped?
As we tolerate more useless politicians and no one will prompt.

Abraham Lincoln because he was a man filled with great compassion who believed that all men are created free and equal, and was not afraid to stand on that platform. The way Lincoln lived his life has served me well in mine.

Unless It Does Not Happen
It is what it is!
And nothing that occurs,
Retracks from its happening.
It is what it is as it is and nothing else!
And nothing that occurs,
Retracks from its happening.
Unless it does not happen...
To be observed,
As it is.
Or wished away,
As it is...
As if not existing,
To be as it should!
