If they say there is a wedding in the sky, women would try to put up a ladder.

Ladder To The Sun

From the very start
Came Earth parted
Broke up into pieces and
I was sure I could have missed it
It could risked it
But I put myself into your hands
Cause you're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
You're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
I can run my courses
Opposing forces
Then I...
If you want me you can have me
Oh take me, oh baby grab me
Cause if you want me then you can have me
Cause you're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
You're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
you cannot run
I had it all and I risked it
I had it all and I risked it all
And I risked it all
And I risked it all
A ladder to the
A Ladder to the sun
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
And I risked it all
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
And I risked it all
I risked it all
I had it all
I risked it all
A ladder to the sun

Women I Know

Strong are the women
In my family.
Every last one...
Seem to have the strength,
To shadow some men...
As if they had none!

And f-i-n-e! Yes!

Beautiful with power.
Mothers who have raised children.
Some without their fathers.
To become themselves...
Strong and bright!
And dynamic in one's sight!

And yes...
They too,
Are f-i-n-e!

Some ask me 'why'...
I have no better half!
Why I am divorce?
And my relationships seem not to last!
I know the answer...
Of course!

Strong are the women
In my family.
Every last one...
Seem to have the strength,
To shadow some men...
As if they had none!
And the men in my family,
Are even stronger than some!

And...
Yes!
They too are f-i-n-e!

And I am left spoiled.
Wishing for one like them!
Not the men! !
But then...
These women I know and related to...
Are few in the market!
And I have stopped shopping...
For a companion to compare!
Beauty, strength and independence are rare.
And these women in my family have it all!
And even more to spare.

I would have to leave this Earth...
To discover someone not to compare,
To these women I love!
And we are related too!
This for me is so difficult.
For me to feel this...
Is so unfair!

However...
No burden is this do I bare!

But then..
To know so many women,
With qualities I like!
Cousins or aunts...
Of my blood 'everywhere'!
And joke,
I do not!
It's true.
Every woman I ever adored...
Has my last name too!

Yeeeessss!
God...
Please lift me from this curse!
hahahahaha
I can't like some I know...
Rehearse wedding after wedding,
After wedding after wedding!
Addicted to romantic delusions!

I know what I'll do!
I will move.
Build a hut in the Amazon.
Or the Congo!
And get it on...
With the monkeys!
Feeling free not to bother,
To ask for ID.

I wanted to define the vocabulary of a wedding both visually and intellectually. The book is about more than weddings or wedding dresses. It's a metaphor for women's lives, their creativity.

But at 12: 00 pm on that they the poet married his bride
Which was his wife to be

Women, Teach Men Your Gentleness

Is it men or women who work the
most in slaughterhouses?
Is it men or women who are
most involved in domestic battering?
Is it men or women who commit
the most rapes?
Is it men or women who
vote for the most executions?
Is it men or women who promote
war, vote for war, kill in war?
Is it men or women who as
'talk show hosts' allow no talk?
Is it men or women who
are more often pedophiles?
Is it men or women who torture
lab animals more?

Writer asks forgiveness of old soul men reading this poem.
As an attorney for the defense exaggerates and is selective
in what she presents, so it is with this poem.

It is the teaching of several religions and the belief of the poster
that we go back and forth between male and female incarnations
as we spiral down the inner ladder to the Indwelling God

The military and hunting organizations socialize gentle men into
believing they must murder voiceless powerless beings in order
to prove their masculinity. It is a lie from hell.

She Walks Her Talk

Ruth is a nice woman
she does not climb the ladder
the ladder climbs for her
i remember how the ladder puts
her feet on the step
and the ladder keeps on carrying
her to the top
so that she can see what is wrong
with the plain
and she does what she is supposed to
do
trimming the stars
dimming the heavens sometimes
to create the ambiance of
an accommodation
she does what the gods tell her to do
down to the last detail
sacrificing sometimes what she thinks
is right from her own human perception
the trees love her
and so do the sand and grass

i am telling you i love the woman
you know it well
she walks her talk.

For My Wedding

(larry john mcnally)
For my wedding, I will dress in black
And never again will I look back
Ah, my dark angels we must part
For Ive made a sanctuary of my heart
To want what I have
To take what Im given with grace
For this I pray
On my wedding day
For my wedding, I dont want violins
Or sentimental songs about thick and thin
I want a moment of silence and a moment of prayer
For the love well need to make it in the world out there
To want what I have
To take what Im given with grace
For this I pray
On my wedding day
On my wedding day
I dream, and my dreams are all glory and light
Thats what Ive wanted for my life
And if it hasnt always been that way
Well, I can dream and I can pray
On my wedding day
So what makes us any different from all the others
Who have tried and failed before us
Maybe nothing, maybe nothing at all
But I pray were the lucky ones; I pray we never fall
To want what we have
To take what were given with grace
For these things I pray
On my wedding day
On my wedding day

An Old Fashioned Wedding

Interpolated in 1966 revival]
[FRANK:]
We'll have an old-fashioned wedding
Blessed in the good old-fashioned way
I'll vow to love you forever
You'll vow to love and honor and obey
Somewhere in some little chapel
Someday when orange blossoms bloom
We'll have an old-fashioned wedding
A simple wedding for an old-fashioned bride and groom
[ANNIE:]
I wanna wedding in a big church with bridesmaids and flower girls
A lot of ushers in tailcoats, reporters and photographers
A ceremony by a bishop who will tie the knot and say
"Do you agree to love and honor?" Love and honor, yes, but not obey
I wanna wedding ring surrounded by diamonds in platinum
A big reception at the Waldorf with champagne and caviar
I wanna wedding like the Vanderbilts have, ev'rything big, not small
If I can't have that kind of a wedding I don't wanna get married at all
[Coda:]
[FRANK:]
We'll have an old-fashioned wedding
[ANNIE:]
If it's not a big wedding I don't wanna get married at all

Wedding Bells

Wedding bells are ringing in the chapel
that should have been ringing
out for you and me.
Now down the isle you walk
with someone else on your arm
instead of me.
We thought in our love
we had everything
until he came along
and swept you off your feet
taking you from my loving arms.
Now up the isle you go with him
to take your wedding vows
as I stand watching,
just another face in the crowd.
I could say something
but I won’t,
as this is your wedding day.
I shall simply slip into the shadows
and then slowly slip away.
You have a new life before you,
one I hope will bring you joy
as the wedding bells keep ringing
for your wedding day.

Ladder

Cook, look, hook, rook, took, book, nook, kook;
Take me home and show me your love,
For the ladder up there is far from me.

Ladder, adder, add, read, dear, red, lad, dad, led, are, era;
But inser the pole inside the tube of the foam!
Because your home is now intended for me alone,
And i have my peaceful mind set on this love.

Wide openings,
The ladder up there is very far from me!
But what goes around will surely come around one day;
And like the joy of your muse in the land of flowers.

Wedding

By the country road I was going silent.
It was deserted and long in the view.
The accordeons had started playing suddenly,
And the silence waved her hands, being confused.

And there was wedding, wedding, wedding singing,
And was dancing.
And wings were carrying it far and far.
And there was a little place to wedding funning!
Was not enough place in the earth and sky!

Under play of the rural orchestra the wind joked
With the bride's white veil trying to twine.
The bridegroom was so serious, the bride was
Inconceivably, amazingly young.

The troikas passed by with the sound ringing,
* troika - three horses, harnessed together
And I felt the breath of spring, fresh and new.
I was going alone and unmarried,
And regretted of me being not a groom.

Somewhere was wedding, wedding, wedding singing
And was dancing.
And wings were carrying it far and far.
And there was a little place to wedding funning!
Was not enough place in the earth and sky!

Women

Women behind bars, women in fast cars, women in distress, women with no dress
Women in airplanes, women who play games
Women in uniform, see that woman with her clothes gone
Women who satisfy, women you cant buy
Like women in magazines, and women in a limousine
Women who sip champagne, women who feel no pain
Women in a disco, and women who dont wanna know, no no
Oh, women wanting sympathy, women feeling extacy
Women who live in fantasies, bringing man to his knees
Women who boil to love, women who need a shove
Women who cant be beat, get that woman in the back seat, yeah yeah
Women in the usa, those women steal your heart away
Women into rock n roll, women who steal the show, go go go
Women that you write songs about, women that turn around and kick you out
Women you dream about all your life
Women that stab you in the back with a switchblade knife
Oh women, oohoo, talking bout women, all round the world
Yeah women, all the naughty girls, talking bout women, come on baby

Crying In Your Wedding Dress

The roads always run wet this time of year
Not with rain - with tears
Crying in your wedding dress
Tearing your hair out

The park was always freezing-over around now
Not with winter - with the pain
Of pulling off your ring
Screaming your lungs out

You wore that dress for 16 hours
You wore it too long
You wore it when you arrived
And you wore it when you woke up
I wore my invisible jacket
My invisible trousers
My invisible smile
All day
On our wedding day

The prototype for this event
The blueprint of this heart-ache
Is sketched so deeply in my mind
There was no other way it could be
On our wedding day

I was walking, drunk, stumbling
You were crying in your wedding dress
I was gone, I was never really there
You were crying in your wedding dress
I was broke for any feeling
You were broke for any hope
Crying in your wedding dress
On our wedding day

Prince Of Orange

Look at these hands
Spokes of the sun God delay you, spray you
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
Brass robinettes
Trumpet and drums for the taking, baking
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
All the food he steals is all right
Far the tall and gentle poplar
Causing fanfare to those listening
Now
Drape round your head
Mischief and secrets in green kelt, all hell
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
Look at these lands (--- --- ---)
Youll get no books for your dinner
Sinner
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die
