I stepped from plank to plank

I stepped from plank to plank
So slow and cautiously;
The stars about my head I felt,
About my feet the sea.

I knew not but the next
Would be my final inch,--
This gave me that precarious gait
Some call experience.

Whose Dream Is This Anyway?

Every day I walk the plank of this pirate ship
and hear voices saying
'Just keep going, take the risk.'
Risk? There is no risk on ships
with planks out over the sea.

What you have there is death and certainty.
'Other voices say, 'What are you doing?
Come back off that plank! '

I say 'Sure.
If I do, the pirates will simply
take their swords and run me through;

saber-death or drown in the sea
look to be the choices for me.
except:
I could get to the edge of the plank
open my wings and soar
leaving them all behind in astonishment.

Yeah, that's what I can do.

Now that is the beauty of a dream-
if you know what you are doing-

you can take control of your own dreams
and make things happen in the real world
by doing so.

So if the monster chases you in your dream
turn right around and face the monster
and say
'Whose dream is this anyway? '

Poof the monster is gone.

Try it some time
you'll see.

It's your dream
isn't it?

Pop some monster;
you feel better for it.
and it just might change your waking life too.

A single Clover Plank

A single Clover Plank
Was all that saved a Bee
A Bee I personally knew
From sinking in the sky —

'Twixt Firmament above
And Firmament below
The Billows of Circumference
Were sweeping him away —

The idly swaying Plank
Responsible to nought
A sudden Freight of Wind assumed
And Bumble Bee was not —

This harrowing event
Transpiring in the Grass
Did not so much as wring from him
A wandering "Alas" —

Separated Out

Can you feel my skin
Can you feel my bones
Can you put my spine in plaster and take me home
So unpleasant inside and out
So unpleasant inside and out
If you like Ill tell you about it
You wouldnt want to know
My heads full of water
Tears I never cried
Could you hold me under the shower
In the cold outside
So unsteady inside and out
So unsteady inside and out
If you like Ill tell you about it
You wouldnt want to be
Separated out
Separated out
Separated out
I need medical attention
Wheres my memory gone
Everything I told you - including this,
I already forgot
Separated out
From the living stream
The thing that couldnt lie straight
Straight in the machine
So unstable inside and out
Dont know how much longer Ill take it
If you like Ill sell you a ticket
Or you can get in for free
Am I enough of a freak
To be worth paying to see
Am I enough of a freak
To be worth paying to see
Can you feel my skin
Can you feel my bones
Can you put my spine in plaster and take me home
Can you kiss my face
Let me know its there
Can you give it shape
Can you kinda care
Am I enough of a freak
To be worth paying to see
Enough of a freak
To be worth paying to see
Enough
Enough
Theyre pointing and laughing
Theyre pointing and laughing at me

There Shall Be No Blank Space Of This Jalousy

she broke a piece
of the window, a plank of glass
and the cat gets in at night
and sleeps on my favorite sofa

i never like this
i don't like a blank space where a cat slips in
and takes a portion of my sofa
this is strictly prohibited in my world

today the plank of glass is delivered
and there is no emptiness left along the lines of this
space
where the wind is free to
to get in and then move out like nothing happened
between the cat and the sofa.

Saccade

I am, from plank to plank,
each planck time, planck length link.
A trillion, trillion, trillion pass
before, therefore I think.

I wend a wilful way,
response to causal sway,
a world line traced by agency
and surface interplay.

I view a fractioned frieze,
a latticework of chinks,
like luminescent plankton seas,
with bright poetic winks.

Waiting for You Everyday

Waiting for you
Tapped on the beach where the wave swept the footprints
The seashells rack their brains
How to attach to the ears to respond the tide?

Waiting for you everyday
At the moment that clearly divided the water and sky
The waters deeply separated
How to tide your figure over the sea
The sky is high above
How to flow your cloudy featuring

Does the water only alter its waves?
Does the sky really have no memories?
Whether it’s true or illusive, still
Waiting for you everyday
The moment in oneness of water and sky

First Water

The water had its beginning before time began
Before even the first born our God would call earthly man.
The creator knew the value and significance of water
Just as its second human creation we call an earthly daughter.

Man certainly does not live by bread alone
But along side the children who sleep at home.
Man can survive without food for a long, long time
But not for long without water nor drinking wine.

The universal one covered earth with two thirds water
Still not as miraculous as the gift of a daughter.
More bounty in the water than in the soil
How expressive is the holy one when we toil.

A green tree grows on coral with a great deal of salt
A desire of the eternal God who has no fault.
The creator separated the birds from the land and sea
Also for man and woman and their child to be.

Water cleans, heals and provides
Mother nature gives, replenishes and renews with each new tide.

4. Elements – Water

Water an elemental
Water a fundamental
Building block of life
Water of Life
Water of Death

Water in all religions
Water in all living things
Water in all countries
Water also used for barter

No life without water
No rife with water
No respect for water
Willful neglect of water

Water, for cooking
Water, for cleaning
Water, for drinking
Water, for living
Water, for dying

Water is the same
In all languages
Water is the same
To all living beings

Looking for Water

Still the leaves are spinning 'round
Take my hand as we go down, and down, and down
Looking for water
Well, our light's gone in a New York minute
Don't know about you, but my heart's not in it
(Looking, looking, looking)
I'm looking for water
I'm looking for water
(Looking, looking, looking)
I can't breathe the air, can't raise a fact
'Cause all we've got left is a beat in the night, and I'm
(Looking for water)
Looking for water
(Looking for water)
(Looking, looking)
Take my hand as we go down, and down
Leave it all behind, nothing could be found
(I'm, looking for water)
I'm looking for water
(Looking for water)
(Looking, looking)
(I, looking for water)
Looking everywhere
(Looking for water)
Looking here and there
(I'm looking for water)
I'm looking for water
(Looking for water)
(Looking, looking)
I can't live in this cage, I can't eat this candy
The edge of the earth to the spin in my head
The look in your eyes and never means never
The dawn's early light, baby, dark is forever
(Looking, looking)
(Looking, looking)
(Looking for water)
(Looking, looking)
I
(Looking for water)
(Looking for water)
(Looking, looking)
I
(Looking for water)
(Looking for water)
(Looking, looking)
I
(Looking for water)
(Looking for watter)
Looking, looking)
I
(Looking for water)
(Looking for watter)
Looking, looking)
I
(Looking for water)
(Looking for watter)

Laundry Day

You gotta keep em separated
You like the latest fashions
Youd like to keep em clean
You take a trip every week to the laundromat
Throw a load in the washing machine
But if you dont wanna ruin your clothes
You gotta sort em out first as everyone knows
Remember bright colors and the others dont mix
Before you washem up, washem up, washem up, washem up
Hey
Are your undies turning pink
Take em out (you gotta keepem separated)
Hey, are your cottons gonna shrink
Sort em out (you gotta keepem separated)
Hey, then when its time
You can stick em in the dryer
You can hang em on a line
Hey, its laundry day

The Separated Women

THE Separated Women
Go lying through the land,
For they have plenty dresses,
And money, too, in hand;
They married brutes and drunkards
And blackguards “frightful low”,
But why are they so eager
For all the world to know?

The shamed and ill-used woman
Who really longs to die,
She slaves at home in silence
And hides her poor black eye!
She lives a life of terror
Eased off at times in woe—
But why is she so frightened
That any one might know?

The Separated Woman
She rushes to the court,
Sad, shabby and pathetic,
Or flaunting or distraught;
The real wronged wife would rather
Lose both eyes and her hair—
She swears a lie to save him
When he is taken there.

The Separated Woman
She mostly goes the same,
Bag-woman, sham-nurse, “pretty”,
Or on her husband’s name;
The real loafed-on woman,
With courage almost grim,
“Goes out” and takes in washing
To keep the kids—and him.

The Separated Woman—
I knew her course so well:
“The Stage”, then first-class barmaid,
Then third-class bar—and hell:
And “hell” means all things vicious
That prey upon the town
(She wishes her poor husband
Had sometimes knocked her down).

Masseur and manicurist,
Or anything by chance,
They vilify their husbands—
And draw the maintenance.
Sham artists, “music teachers”—
Oh! they are flinty nuts!
Their friends are man-shaped crawlers
And lower than the dust.

The separated “Monsters”
Are missing from the tale—
They seem to have cleared out—or,
Perhaps they are in gaol.
The separated husband
Is heard of here and there,
A mild and decent citizen
And mostly bowed with care.

The Separated Women,
When upset in the track,
Are often very eager
To take the “Monster” back.
They’ve moved all hell to crush him
And, startled, find too late
The Monster’s grown content with
The separated state.

Mountain Peak

We came together on the highest mountain on this earth.
As years went by we separated into rivers
from the tears this mountain cried.
We all fell into different rivers flowing though
forests, rocks, and waterfalls.
No matter what season we came across
we continued flowing.
We are rivers that started in the mountains,
and rivers that separated as we went through
many waterfalls.
Sometimes we travel together,
and other times we travel alone.
Always remember that these same rivers
that travel many miles through the earth
are once again together when it reaches its final destination
the “Ocean”
So, rivers that started up high in the mountains
and then separated are united
again as a family.

Twin Sisters

We say we are twin sisters separated before birth, my sister dot and me
We seem to do and think the same each day, unbelievably
One of us has an idea, The other carries it out
Twins separated before birth that's what we two are about
Maybe our dad got disturbed while on the job with our mam
Maybe god knew two of us wouldn't have fit in our mams small pram
I have no idea of the reason we came sixteen years apart
One thing is I do know we have had a thread that joined us from the start

Nothing Will Be As Wonderful

Nothing will be as wonderful, as that spring had been
the trees were full of flowers row upon row
the water in the channels reflected bright like glass

in the distance seagulls turned around a ship’s mast
flew away in lines above us.
Nothing will be as wonderful, as that spring had been

where your hand had fitted fine and precisely into mine
where I fell more intimately in love with you
the water in the channels reflected bright like glass

we had seen an otter splashing at rocks in the sea
while the boat floated recoiling over the sea.
Nothing will be as wonderful, as that spring had been

where now I reach in vain for you
and forever you are separated from me,
the water in the channels reflects bright like glass

while the hot spring rain, wash away my tears
with dire pain cutting through me;
nothing will be as wonderful, as that spring had been
the water in the channels reflects bright like glass.

The Snowflake Which Is Now and Hence Forever

Will it last? he says.
Is it a masterpiece?
Will generation after generation
Turn with reverence to the page?

Birdseye scholar of the frozen fish,
What would he make of the sole, clean, clear
Leap of the salmon that has disappeared?

To be, yes!--whether they like it or not!
But not to last when leap and water are forgotten,
A plank of standard pinkness in the dish.

They also live
Who swerve and vanish in the river.
