Twin Sisters

We say we are twin sisters separated before birth, my sister dot and me
We seem to do and think the same each day, unbelievably
One of us has an idea, The other carries it out
Twins separated before birth that's what we two are about
Maybe our dad got disturbed while on the job with our mam
Maybe god knew two of us wouldn't have fit in our mams small pram
I have no idea of the reason we came sixteen years apart
One thing is I do know we have had a thread that joined us from the start

Me and my elder sister are twins,
We are one spirit in two bodies,
At d tym of birth she askd me to wait
So she can taste d world 2 see if its safe.
For three yrs I waited at d interphase
Til she was sure and guaranteed it safe.
All this she did for me
Ever sinc wen we were seeds

Me and my elder sister are twins,
She is taye and am kehinde you see,
She loves me so
She plays the role
Of the guinea pig
So I can live with ease.
To me she called
Its safe to come.

Me and my elder sister are twins,
We came early in spring
She is march 2nd and I am 3rd,
There is no coincidence in this course
She just loves me so
And I do love her so
Even now she still takes care of me
And I knw to her am stil her lil tender baby.

An Idea

An Idea can change the world, how many
things can be done from an idea, every piece
of object was an idea, sense the beginning of
time idea was the first thought created in the
mind, an idea is what surround’s every being.
But an idea is still only an idea and it can't be
felt, you cannot touch an idea or kiss it, or hold it,
ideas do not bleed or feel pain or love, an idea
cannot be seen or heard, its created in our thoughts,
but then again an idea can become real. An idea
can be what ever you which it to be, an idea can
be destructive, an idea can be brilliant, I've seen
people get killed in the name of ideas, ideas,
we walk around with a little
light bulb blinking in our thoughts, ideas.

Birth And Death

Birth and death, twin-sister and twin-brother,
Night and day, on all things that draw breath,
Reign, while time keeps friends with one another
Birth and death.

Each brow-bound with flowers diverse of wreath,
Heaven they hail as father, earth as mother,
Faithful found above them and beneath.

Smiles may lighten tears, and tears may smother
Smiles, for all that joy or sorrow saith:
Joy nor sorrow knows not from each other
Birth and death.

Keep Moving toward a Perfect Union

Twin girls
Aquatic pair.
Strangers.
Swimming
Side-by-side
Sipping sap.
Doubles
No yolks...no chick
Cherry portion
Belly to belly

School and home they
Talk and play. Freedom
Separates them in-two-way
Mom knew XX were
From XY…asking not why?
Cords snipped,
doc slapped, towled
and wiped.

Separated,

Each.

Each.

Friends

Each holding
up her end

Almedia S. Knight or (ASK

After a little chat with Kamille one of the twins, later, she ask me to
Write about what we’d talked about. Here to you: Kamille, and your twin Kayla:
Nine months you shared the same little
Embryonic pond nourishing the same sweet sap
Not once did you fight…so why now?

Love.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.

A Dog's Life Initial Version Sixteen Years

Sixteen years, now almost seventeen,
I came at beck and call, stayed seldom still
until my master called, or whistle shrill
recalled me to my place. My sight was keen.

Sixteen years, I stood as faithful friend,
as boon companion spinning out the years.
His mother passed away, I shared the tears
that fountained forth and never seemed to end.

Sixteen years, come rain or shine, I d walk
twice, sometimes thrice a day, I sensed each smell
around the house, yes every one knew well well,
and after dinner heard the table talk.

Sixteen years from pet to family,
from playful pat to priceless kith and kin,
I vetted all who'd fall for either twin,
could smell a rat or chase cat up a tree.

Sixteen years I watched the children grow,
suffered their untaught hands, that now caress,
I guard them still, still at the same address,
as I will do til its my turn to go.

Sixteen years that gambolled life away,
with water, beef and bone, I've played at will.
The smells less sharp are now, and soon I will
make my last bow - yet still, in dreams, I play!

What It Is You've Done

You have no idea what it is you've done.
Not a single thought of yours has come,
With an apology,
Or a 'forgive me please'...
Nothing at all since our fall begun!
You have no idea what it is you've done.

You have no idea what it is you've done.
Or maybe you do?
And I'm the one who is stunned...
Not realizing we were through!
While you were planning to 'retire' from me,
I ignored the hints dropped!
And didn't think your overnight trips were clues!
Not by calls you made from truck stops!
And all this time you knew?
You knew exactly what you were putting me through!

You have no idea what it is you've done.
Not a single thought of yours has come,
With an apology,
Or a 'forgive me please'...
Nothing at all since our fall begun!
You have no idea what it is you've done.
Or maybe you do!
And I was a fool not to first leave you!

And all this time you knew?
You knew exactly what you were putting me through!
And you know what you have done?
You just don't care that the 'donin' was done...
To the one who didn't see you doing the 'donin' come!

Zora Neale Hurston

I accept this idea of democracy. I am all for trying it out. It must be a good thing if everybody praises it like that. If our government has been willing to go to war and sacrifice billions of dollars and millions of men for the idea I think that I ought to give the thing a trial. The only thing that keeps me from pitching head long into this thing is the presence of numerous Jim Crow laws on the statute books of the nation. I am crazy about the idea of Democracy. I want to see how it feels.

It's absolutely of no importance who or what V was under the mask. He isn't a who or a what, he's an idea. The thing is, you couldn't continue it. Now and then the idea of a sequel has been raised, in vague forms, but I think it would be a bad idea. The story's finished.

Idea

I been thinking sitting on a pole.
I'm getting sick of doing what I'm told.
Just me and the mirror and my brain.
But that was when I got an idea.
Came like a gun and shot in my ear.
Don't you think it's time you got up and stood alone?

Fifteen years I lay down on the ground.
I couldn't feel any noise or hear any sound.
Fifteen million years I spent down the line.
But that was when I got an idea.
Came like a gun and shot in my ear.
Don't you think it's time you got up and stood alone?
Get up and stand alone

Mountain Peak

We came together on the highest mountain on this earth.
As years went by we separated into rivers
from the tears this mountain cried.
We all fell into different rivers flowing though
forests, rocks, and waterfalls.
No matter what season we came across
we continued flowing.
We are rivers that started in the mountains,
and rivers that separated as we went through
many waterfalls.
Sometimes we travel together,
and other times we travel alone.
Always remember that these same rivers
that travel many miles through the earth
are once again together when it reaches its final destination
the “Ocean”
So, rivers that started up high in the mountains
and then separated are united
again as a family.

The Separated Women

THE Separated Women
Go lying through the land,
For they have plenty dresses,
And money, too, in hand;
They married brutes and drunkards
And blackguards “frightful low”,
But why are they so eager
For all the world to know?

The shamed and ill-used woman
Who really longs to die,
She slaves at home in silence
And hides her poor black eye!
She lives a life of terror
Eased off at times in woe—
But why is she so frightened
That any one might know?

The Separated Woman
She rushes to the court,
Sad, shabby and pathetic,
Or flaunting or distraught;
The real wronged wife would rather
Lose both eyes and her hair—
She swears a lie to save him
When he is taken there.

The Separated Woman
She mostly goes the same,
Bag-woman, sham-nurse, “pretty”,
Or on her husband’s name;
The real loafed-on woman,
With courage almost grim,
“Goes out” and takes in washing
To keep the kids—and him.

The Separated Woman—
I knew her course so well:
“The Stage”, then first-class barmaid,
Then third-class bar—and hell:
And “hell” means all things vicious
That prey upon the town
(She wishes her poor husband
Had sometimes knocked her down).

Masseur and manicurist,
Or anything by chance,
They vilify their husbands—
And draw the maintenance.
Sham artists, “music teachers”—
Oh! they are flinty nuts!
Their friends are man-shaped crawlers
And lower than the dust.

The separated “Monsters”
Are missing from the tale—
They seem to have cleared out—or,
Perhaps they are in gaol.
The separated husband
Is heard of here and there,
A mild and decent citizen
And mostly bowed with care.

The Separated Women,
When upset in the track,
Are often very eager
To take the “Monster” back.
They’ve moved all hell to crush him
And, startled, find too late
The Monster’s grown content with
The separated state.

Wicked

Born wicked, but covered in blood, from the saving fountain above,
A fountain that flows from Calvary, to save a wicked sinner like me;
Born separated, right from my birth, as a lost sinner upon this earth,
Separated from God up above, who reached down with saving love.

God sent to us a cleansing flood, through His Son’s precious blood,
A flood which covered all the earth, affording all men a spiritual birth,
To every soul, within every nation, God offers in Christ His Salvation,
And to every sinner God offers life, through The Savior, Jesus Christ.

Dark and wicked down to my heart, but, God gave to me a new start,
Bringing me to Calvary’s Cross, He began to purge my wicked dross,
My Lord as Savior I came to know, said He’d make me white as snow,
As red as scarlet, my sin may be, I’m washed in The Blood of Calvary.

Dead in sin, I was spiritually lost, But, The Lord God, paid all the cost,
For all my sin and its punishment, through His Only Son, He had sent,
When on God’s Son my sin was laid, full payment for my sin He paid,
The Son bore all my wickedness, and gave to me, His Righteousness.

Though wicked and vile to the core, when on the cross my sin He bore,
God’s forgiveness was sent my way, and I stand in Jesus Christ today,
Now when God looks down on me, it is the Blood of Christ He will see,
The Blood which truly sets me apart, now that Christ dwells in my heart.

Family

Inseperable,
Since what seemed like birth,
They had the tightest bond,
On the face of the earth,
Time twisted and turned
Their relationship,
Water became thicker than blood,
Family separated
No longer speaking
Now teaching
The next generation-
Brothers, sisters, and cousins
To embrace the familial separation.
Now older and wiser
We strive to change the patterns
We ourselves have made
Change the paths we've made
Family-blood in, blood out,
From the cradle to the grave.

A Better Idea

He hung the moon
Raised the sun
Made the lions walk
And the rivers run
Then he sat down, looked around
And thought a bit
Said, its all good but that aint quite it
So with his mighty hand he created man
And then
Chorus
He had a better idea
A much better idea
He made an angel like sweet perfume
A heavenly smile, someone who
Can light up a room with a heart so true
I thank God he created me
But when I look at you I see
He had a better idea
Thought Id have to face
This world alone
Just walk through life
Without a hand to hold
And I accepted that
I said in fact it might be nice
To live my way
Now thats paradise
Be he knew all along
I was wrong
Repeat chorus (2x)
He had a better idea
God had a better idea

Christeen Sixteen

She's got me dizzy, she sees me through to the end
She's got me in her hands and there's no use in pretending
Christine sixteen, Christine sixteen
She drives me crazy, I want to give her all I've got
And she's hot every day and night, there is no doubt about it
Christine sixteen, Christine sixteen
"I don't usually say things like this to girls your age, but when I saw you
coming out of the school that day, that day I knew, I knew, I've got to have
you, I've got to have you."
She's' been around, but she's young and clean
I've got to have her, can't live without her, whoo no
Christine sixteen, Christine sixteen
Christine, Christine, sixteen, sixteen
Christine, yeah, yeah
So clean, Christine, sixteen, sixteen
Christine, yeah, Christine, yeah, yeah
Christine, Christine, sixteen, sixteen
Christine, yeah, Christine, yeah, yeah
Christine, Christine, sixteen, sixteen
Christine, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Christine, Christine, sixteen, sixteen
Christine, yeah, yeah, yeah
Christine, Christine, sixteen, sixteen
Christine, yeah, yeah, yeah
