Pretending We Are Strangers
I have an idea.
Let us all pretend,
We are strangers.
'We are.'
Well,
I have another idea.
Let's pretend we are all close relatives.
'We are all relatives.
But we prefer it better,
If we stayed pretending we are strangers.
Somehow that makes us feel even closer.'

They only want love
lots of people
and lots and lots
of travelers, wayfarers
and activists and visionaries
and canvassers
and vendors
and realists and romantics
They have all asked for my love
but my constant answer is:
“No, you can’t have my love;
but you can have my money
if I can find any”
it’s the same with family and friends
strangers, neighbors, children
and relatives and enemies
eccentrics and couples
They all ask for my love
but my unwavering answer is:
“No, you can’t have my love;
but you can have my money
if I can find any”
it’s the same with strangers
and politicians and organizations
and great leaders and haloed monks
and Heavenly Saviors
and sports personalities
and charity organizers
They only want my love
but my immutable answer is:
“No, you can’t have my love;
but you can have my money
if I can find any”
The point here is
it is my task to help you see
the world is full of such
good people
They only want love
It’s never money they’re after
They only ask for my love
Never, never for my money
But still, cruel as I am,
my non-negotiable answer is:
“No, you can’t have my love;
but you can have my money
if I can find any”

Pity, pity, pity
Look at to the unwanted child
Look at to the divorced wife
Look at to the homeless man
What people do other than saying
“Pity, pity, pity”
Look at to the tragic hero
Look at to the sympathized villain
Look at to the clueless victim
What witnesses do other than staring
“Pity, pity, pity”
Look at to the crazy dreamer
Look at to the unlucky gambler
Look at to the stubborn fighter
What friends do other than whispering
“Pity, pity, pity”
Look at to the withering flower
Look at to the starving animal
Look at to the extinct nature
What human do other than howling
“Pity, pity, pity”
Look at to the empty spaces
Look at to the blank faces
Look at to the lost traces
What devils do other than laughing
“Pity, pity, pity”

The advice would be the same for any kind of fiction. Keep writing, and keep sending things out, not to friends and relatives, but to people who have the power to buy. A lot of additional, useful tips could be added, but this is fundamental.

Strangers But Strangers And Strangers
strangers but strangers and strangers
life goes on truth goes gos on humanity goes on
meaning goes on time goes on rain goes on storms go on
animals kingdom s go on in the forest of Darwin
strangers but strangers and strangers
images go on in the line of alternative realities
images are close relationship with human existence
strangers but strangers and strangers
facts are not strange but language is strange
strangers but strangers and strangers
Believe In God
Believe in God! In His might!
Ram, Allah or Jesus Christ!
As you like; as you trust!
When relatives desert
When friends forget
Still you have on your side
The Omnipotent
To listen to your plight
You yourself will see
His charity melt
Ablating your painful ailment
And filling your heart
With divine fulfillment

Along The Way
Along the way, we met
as passing strangers there,
and then we met again,
now the strangers
became passing friends.
The more we meet along the way,
the more we could see
the love within one another’s eyes
that was meant to be.
From strangers to friends,
to lovers to remain
together forever more,
never forgetting
how we met along the way.

No Charity Too Is Good
Acts of attrition promote charity.
The guilt built might demand charity.
Seeking God’s bliss might cause charity.
From the surplus one might do charity.
Beneficiary being the needy,
Charity is a benevolent act.
Doing no charity is excellent
By not earning more than the bare need.

Just to Share Their Good Wishes
Often folks are depicted,
To be less influencial than they are.
Most times than none,
This is done by relatives and friends of some.
With a demeaning of one's character.
From an innocence that is done!
Now...
If the one who is victimized,
Wins the lottery...
Or some other monetary prize.
Relatives, friends and those unknown,
Expose themselves from beyond closed doors...
And everywhere else,
To make themselves known.
Just to share their good wishes!
And...
Of course a taste,
Of what for them they find delicious.

Strangers Again
(toby keith)
You couldnt tell by lookin wed ever met before
I hardly ever see her, she dont come by any more
With all the time we spent together, I thought by now she wouldve called
Its amlost like she never even know my name at all
But the first night I met her, we were just strangers
Small talk conversation, we became friends
One morning we woke up and wed turned into lovers
At the end of the line now, were strangers again
This used to be our hangout, now I guess its only mine
And all our friends still come here, they ask about her all the time
I say I spoke to her just yesterday, no wait, two days ago
I guess that girl will never change, but Im the only one that knows
That the first night I met her, we were just strangers
Small talk conversation, we became friends
One morning we woke up and wed turned into lovers
At the end of the line now, were strangers again
But the first night I met her, we were just strangers
Small talk conversation, we became friends
One morning we woke up an wed turned into lovers
At the end of the line now, were strangers again
At the end of the line now, were strangers again

With Time, History Repeats Itself!
With time,
Relatives drift apart
Loved ones become unloved
Ones held in great esteem turn unwanted
Blood turns thinner than water
New walls of ego and prestige arise
Misunderstandings become stronger
Differences reinforce and multiply
Selfishness draws smaller circles
Love and affection vanish
Childhood years of togetherness disappear
Pedigree chart becomes complex
Newer friends and relatives emerge
Old traditions and cultural values dissolve
Life plays a cruel game amongst blood relatives
Brothers and sisters become strangers
Kith and kin refuse to revere the elderly
The world of love turns into one of inertness
One wonders whether life is really worth living!
But these are the sad realities of earthly life
All must undergo the stages and phases
There is no escape for anyone
Righteousness and principles get scorned
None can change the other
History repeats itself!

Only Friends
I went into a saloon last night
and a notice stood out
like a beacon light.
The notice read as follows.
There are no strangers here,
only friends.
There is no frowning,
only smiles.
If you are feeling lonely,
this is the place to come,
as there is always
someone to talk to,
for there are no strangers here,
only friends.

Note:
The poem was written around a quote that hangs in the saloon of the western town I helped build. The quote: There Are No Strangers Here - Only Friends came from my friend and our Town Mayor Papa Bear (Derek Lewry)

Don't reserve the wealth for generations
If a person happens
to acquire wealth by RIGHTFUL means,
he should be generous to take food
- generated by ploughing his land
by oxen - with many guests and relatives!
However alert,
Wealth may not stay with one person with partiality,
It will move from person to person like a cart wheel!
(naalatiyaar - aRaththuppaal - selvam nilaiyaamai 2)
Hence, don't reserve the wealth for generations,
Help and utilise for charity, feed guests and relatives!

Eat and drink with your relatives, but do business with strangers.
Eat and drink with your relatives; do business with strangers.
(J - Baba Amte - 1994) Work Builds but Charity Destroys
He built his monumental work
On the rocks of his pithy philosophy:
‘Work Builds; Charity Destroys.’
Whenever the tempest of time blows across
He feels no loss –
His work stands unaffected;
Self-reliance he has perfected.
To those poor palms
Fated to seek alms
A few tools he gave,
Their spirits to save,
And they carved out
The beauty of self-dignity
From what was first their self-pity,
Their disability,
Their poverty,
Their agony!
In the desert of leprosy
He sowed seeds of sympathy,
Seeds of empathy,
And grew the garden of ability,
Of energy,
Of prosperity.
He knew that charity
Could feed the hungry.
But he also knew that it could
Also inflict injury.
But work could make one worthy,
Could make one really happy.
He gave no charity;
He gave opportunity;
He decried self-pity;
He admired dignity.
The day your horse dies and your money's gone, your relatives change into strangers.

The appalling thing is the degree of charity women are capable of. You see it all the time... love lavished on absolute fools. Love's a charity ward, you know.

Facts Enacted
Very few 'doers' are without their critics.
And they may be relatives.
Or 'close' friends to suspect.
When one does things that are made public...
No matter who they are,
They will be scrutinized.
And flooded with advice and suggestions to test!
Very few 'doers' are without their critics.
Especially those who have expressed their concerns.
They are the ones often scandalized.
With a receiving of a 'burning'
For their good deeds in return.
And the evidence of that...
Becomes evident,
With the witnessing of those facts enacted.
