Coals glowing orange red
Coals glowing orange red in the half drum
blazing through the holes in the sides of it
and a guard warms his hands
where he stands watching, with eyes alert
one hand touching the baton
as if testing if it is still there
and his shadow is gigantic
on the white building behind him
and above him, in the night
God’s coals are aflame
burning through the holes in the sky.

What's Inside Of It
More than your silver,
And gold.
And...
More than those diamonds,
Glowing to sparkle.
I want to know,
What's that you hold...
Inside your heart,
For me.
More than the Moon,
And the Stars.
And...
More than the Sun,
That comes when dawn begins.
This I've got to see,
That it's me you want and need...
With a wish,
I can feed...
Completely!
More than your silver,
And gold.
And...
More than those diamonds,
Glowing to sparkle.
I want to know,
What's that you hold...
Inside your heart,
For me.
And now!
What's inside of it?
And now.

Sparkle
Sparkle, theres gotta be a sparkle
For you to love somebody
For you to really know
Brighter than the lights in the city
Its more than being pretty
The way you are inside
Why are you cryin
Somebodys tryin
To be with you only all the time
You hide behind tears
Counting the fears
Youre so used to being alone
Sparkle, theres gotta be a sparkle
For you to love somebody
For you to really know
Sparkle, you got a certain sparkle
I know I love somebody
I gotta let it show
(instrumental break)
Nobody knows you
They cant get too close to
A girl who wont let down her disguise
You wont believe how much someone could love you
That someone is looking in your eyes
Sparkle, its gotta be a sparkle
For you to love somebody
For you to really know
Brighter than the lights of the city
Its more than being pretty
Its the way you feel inside
Sparkle

The thunder cat
In the bush I see a strange thing,
a secret cat
that like a phantom
follow our tracts, shadowing behind
leaving no tracts of its own.
Red eyes glow at night
with the intensity of a fire burning
but every time that I really look
it’s out of reach.
Around the orange-yellow fire
where we are barbequing the meat
from the day’s hunting
I can almost smell the monster
where it sneaks out of sight
around us.
I wonder what has awaken
in the wild veldt, the jungle
and what hell of a thing
we now have drawn
from its sleep?
My.308 rifle and hunting knife
both lie near to my side,
but something let me comprehend
that no usual weapons
will stand against this monster
but at that time I am still convinced
that it’s only imagination
and the tiredness, the party
at the fire
and my thoughts are playing with me.
Totally unconcerned we go to sleep
and with time the flames
burn lower and lower
and there are only glowing coals left.
When I wake up with a start
a bright moon is in the sky
and something strange
stand over me
and it looks part transparent
but still with a fixed
dark form.
I can smell death
on the breath of it
and see its teeth glittering
and it’s as if thunder
flames from its jaws
when it bites at me
and an urge for survival
let me jump from the ground
to the other side
of the glowing coals
and its teeth clash on each other.
Next to me lies a shovel
and some of the coals
still have small flames
and I see that the coals
make it hesitate for a moment.
Desperately I grab the shovel,
scoop if full of coals
and when the monster
opens its jaws again
to take another bite at me
and I get the rotten smell
of its foul breath
I throw the whole shovel
down its throat.
For a moment it roars thundering,
is filled with bright white thunderbolts
and stand ablaze
and looks like a thunder cat
before it disappears into the darkness
and becomes nothing
as if suddenly it’s in another dimension
and everybody stares at me
with eyes huge as saucers
and from the sand
I pick up two teeth
that shines strangely, like diamonds,
but with an unknown blue-white fire
glowing from the inside.

Glowing Superlatives
Unloading glowing superlatives
Does not make what isn't felt or seen
Sparkle brighter
If maintenance is daily conducted
By those entrusted
To prevent it from rust
Many can choose to blow off the dust
To represent their interpretation
Of what they describe not viewed by eyes
And they are to be commended
But what isn't comprehended
By that which is defended
Is what it takes to establish and keep
Such high status mentioned to be presented
Unloading glowing superlatives
Does not make what isn't felt or seen
Sparkle brighter
If maintenance is daily conducted
By those entrusted
To prevent it from rust
When a focused attention becomes applied
With all determined to rise to such heights described
An approval of the removal of exaggerations embellished
Will then become less tolerated and more appreciated
For what it truly is in appearance for all to stand and applaud

The guardian of the flames
Always there have been
something holy to me,
about flames
that comes alive suddenly.
It’s a great thing
to see flames spread
and to see yellow licking tongs,
consume wood
and to get heat, energy
and comfort from it.
At a time human existence
surely depended on
keeping the secret
of flames
and to make sure,
that the last glowing coals
do not die.
When I was a child,
my brother and me
almost burnt a hillock
and some residences down
by misadventure.
The more I tried to kill
the small fire,
that I started in the long brown winter grass,
the more the fire spread.
It’s a fact that my behind
also burnt on that occasion
from a hiding
with a old fan belt
and I learned quickly,
what the power of fire is
and how to act responsibly with matches.
Tonight I am the guardian of the flames
at the fireplace in the lounge
and I take care of the hot coals
and have to put wood on
before the fire dies.

Hope for a new tomorrow
I saw it in the faces
of homeless people
standing around drums,
with glowing coals
trying to get hot
at red-hot flames.
I saw it on the faces
of people living in villages
in a war zone,
that went forth with their lives
as if the war didn’t exist.
Still I wonder when
the new morning is coming
and every day,
I watch the horizon
and look at the blue sky above me
to see if You
do not appear on the clouds.

Nature Worship
Little flight of whimsy
Darting through space
Dragonfly, oh dragonfly
Show your true face.
With wings made of sunbeams
You sparkle and shimmer
Tell me your secret
Are you a skimmer?
Burnt coals and embers
Abide in your eyes
You conquer the hornet
An attack by surprise.
You murder the hapless
Who encroach on your rule
Without enmity or venom
For you're a living jewel.

Moving Pictures
The slowly burning logs inspire.
Half forgotten memories.
Moving pictures in the fire.
Recalling scenes from the past with ease.
Other times and other places
Recollections from long ago
Of the friends I used to know.
Where are they now? I cannot say
Our paths diverged and we lost touch.
The glowing coals make my thoughts stray
and I remember far too much.
The things I did or did not do.
As I recall the past anew.

Walking Through Midnight
Well Ive been walking through midnight
And theres no trace of dawn
Im stuck in this moonlight
Its leading me on
My bodys on fire
And I cant stand the pain
This burning desire
I feel once again
Now Im fighting with madness
As I move down the street
Surrounded by sadness
I cant take this heat
The streetlamps are glowing
Like coals in the mist
Their lights keep me moving
I just cant resist
Now theres peace in this valley
But none in my mind
Like a drunk in an alley
Im stumbling blind
With no destination
At an unholy speed
I must keep on moving
Try to walk off this need

The Way You Wear Your Head
Dont push me cause Ill fall in love
With whatever you just said.
Dont push me cause I'll fall in love
With the way you wear your head.
Out in the corner
Youre glowing white
Out in the corner
Youre glowing white
I want to want you
I need to need you
Id love to love you
I want to want you
I need to need you
Im begging to beg you
Out in the corner
Youre glowing white
Out in the corner
Youre glowing white
Id like to say good-bye
To a complicated mind
But when I walk and wave
Im stalked all day
By california lives
And things I didnt try
And ways you were unkind
And the strangest colored eyes
Out in the corner
Youre glowing white
Out in the corner
Youre glowing white

Glowing is her Bonnet
72
Glowing is her Bonnet,
Glowing is her Cheek,
Glowing is her Kirtle,
Yet she cannot speak.
Better as the Daisy
From the Summer hill
Vanish unrecorded
Save by tearful rill—
Save by loving sunrise
Looking for her face.
Save by feet unnumbered
Pausing at the place.

Howling At The Moon
Sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la-la-la sha-la-la-la-la-la
Ships are docking planes are landing
A never ending supply
No more narco no more gangster
Conservatives can cry
I took the law and threw it away
'cause there's nothing wrong it's just for play
There's no law, no law any more
I want to steal from the rich and give to the poor
Sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la-la-la
It was glowing, glowing, glowing, glowing in the dark
It was sparkling, sparkling, sparkling, sparkling in the dark
I took the law and threw it away
'cause there's nothing wrong it's just for play
There's no law, no law any more
I want to steal from the rich and give to the poor
Winter turns to summer sadness turns to fun
Keep the faith, baby you broke the rules and won
Sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la-la-la
Keep it glowing, glowing, glowing
I'm not hurting any one keep it glowing, smoking, glowing
I'm howling at the moon
I took the law and threw it away
'cause there's nothing wrong it's just for play
There's no law, no law any more
I want to steal from the rich and give to the poor
Oh baby oh baby oh baby oh baby
I took the law and threw it away
'cause there's nothing wrong it's just for play
I'm smoking, baby
I'm smoking, oh baby
There's no law, no law any more
I want to steal from the rich and give to the poor

Gold at the Rainbow’s End
Everyone wants to find
the gold at the rainbow’s end,
but most of us have already found it,
and just don’t realise the fact.
We have a lot of good friends,
and a love that soars us into the heavens.
That is what the pot of gold is all about.
These are worth more than
the gems that sparkle in your hand.
They make your life sparkle
with the happiness they bring to you.

Sparkle
I remember when you seemed real shiny with the sweat of your voice
Shaky hands super load and teenage mouth
We were all charmed and taken with your talk
Now I shudder when I hear the rhythm of your walk
Now Ive got no place to go Ive got no place to go
Ive got no one, nowhere, no one
I have given up on the sparkle that I saw in your eyes
I have sinned the sin of wanting more
The belly fire pulls the spirit from the corporate whore
Im embarrassed by the plaid you wear
If I were you Id hide behind that stupid bleach blonde hair
Now Ive got no place to go Ive got no place to go
Ive got no one, nowhere, no one
I have given up on the sparkle that I saw in you
Yeah that simple minded sparkle that I thought I saw
Yes I have wondered why you changed
I like it when you were super loud
I wonder if youre giving in tell me why youre giving in

Of Stars and Servants
The stars shine in the nights
and on the stage, they sparkle
with much elegance and might.
They are idolized, iconized,
and spectators get infected
by this great fever as the stars
sparkle and shine.
While from below the ground
the servants lay their lives
in the remotest mountains,
slums, villages and valleys
where human needs are attended,
love and compassion, extended-
not seeking the grandeur
to sparkle and shine on the great stage
but willing to lose themselves-
excluded, secluded, persecuted.
The stars shine in elegance
for themselves
The servants lose themselves
to serve.

Exhuming Mccarthy
Youre beautiful more beautiful than me
Youre honorable more honorable than me
Loyal to the bank of america
Its a sign of the times
Its a sign of the times
Youre sharpening stones, walking on coals
To improve your business acumen.
Sharpening stones, walking on coals,
To improve your business acumen.
Vested interest united ties, landed gentry rationalize
Look who bought the myth, by jingo, buy america
Its a sign of the times
Its a sign of the times
Youre sharpening stones, walking on coals
To improve your business acumen.
Sharpening stones, walking on coals,
To improve your business acumen.
Enemy sighted, enemy met, Im addressing the realpolitik
Look who bought the myth, by jingo, buy america
let us not assassinate this man further senator,
Youve done enough. have you no sense of decency, sir?
At long last, have you left no sense of decency?
Youre sharpening stones, walking on coals
To improve your business acumen.
Sharpening stones, walking on coals,
To improve your business acumen.
Enemy sighted, enemy met, Im addressing the realpolitik
Youve seen start and youve seen quit
(Im addressing the table of content)
I always thought of you as quick

My Fire
I have been lonely before.
Listing between friends.
Going through the motions again and again.
Adding the moments together,
like salty drops of tears in a bitter pool.
Living a life of tepid comfort.
Without passion, fire, flame.
Like a man in a cold room
Warm and wrapped in a blanket
Comfortable, but longing for fire
For the feeling of heat on his back
With his shoulder naked
And his eyes closed
This is how I see you.
You are the fire.
You are the warm glowing embers.
The black and red hot coals
And the blue fire licking the edges
I have been lonely before.
If only I had the courage to open my eyes
You would be my fire.
