Happy Friendship Day,2012
Befriend someone who
Fills a void in life;
Befriend someone who
Helps you in all strife.
Befriend someone who
Consoles you in grief;
Befriend someone who
Never turns a thief!
Befriend someone who
Steals your mind and heart;
Befriend someone who
Weeps when you depart.
Befriend someone who
Makes days beautiful!
Befriend someone who
Makes life meaningful!

Tell Me Now
Is my,
Loving you unreasonable?
Are my,
Feelings out of touch?
Do I,
Appear to be impossible?
Do you,
Think I clutch too much.
And is my,
Loving you unreasonable?
And are my,
Feelings out of touch?
And do I,
Appear to be impossible?
And do you,
Think I clutch too much.
Tell me now,
'Cause my patience is a keeper.
And you don't know how,
I can tolerate a need.
And this you know by now,
I have love for you forever.
And that somehow,
Is the reason why you think I'm here,
Because we shared a vow?
Is my,
Loving you unreasonable?
Tell me now...
Are my,
Feelings out of touch?
Tell me now...
Do I,
Appear to be impossible?
Tell me now...
Do you,
Think I clutch too much.
And that 'too much' is enough!
Tell me now,
Has that too much been enough?
Tell me now,
Is my loving you unreasonable?
Tell me now,
Has that too much been enough?
Tell me now...
Do you,
Think I clutch too much?
Tell me now...
Do you think I am impossible?
Tell me now...
Do you think I love too much.
Tell me now...
Do you think I love too much.
Tell me now...
Do you think I love too much.

Many shapes of desire
I cannot befriend who all I admire.
I cannot woo who all I befriend.
I cannot hold who all I woo.
I cannot mate who all I hold.
The one I get is none of them..

Wasteland
Can you see us now were on our own
And every chance has just come and just gone
Now it looks so dark and so cold
Think of the minds we sold
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
I can remember things that looked so bright
And I could talk to you without all this spite
Can you picture all thats past
Does your face deform so fast
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
Wed better speak now
'cause when I stop and look into your head
I think of all the things that you said
When I look up into your eyes
I see the creature that I despise
Kill now
Kill now
Kill now
Kill now
Can you see us now were on our own
And every chance has just come and gone
Ive been wrong but youve been unkind
Theres so much more that I cant find
Wasteland
Wasteland
Wasteland...

I think all of those things, but certainly the booze really brought out the really unreasonable side of me, and I just didn't want to revisit that place again.

Speak With Kindness (Or Do Not Speak At All)
speak with kindness,
or do not speak at all.
speak not of judgement,
you are not the judge.
speak not of salvation,
let your living be your scriptures.
speak not of scriptures,
let your actions be your holy book.
speak not as apostle or teacher,
speak as a human being.
speak not of god,
then god will speak through you!
speak not as a man,
for you are woman too.
speak not with hateful malice,
for love does not work that way.
speak not as a prophet or seer,
speak as compassion made flesh.
speak not of morality,
speak of connection.
speak not of authority,
the tree and the leaf have just as much.
speak not of holiness,
for all that lives be holy.
speak with kindness...
or do not speak at all!

Self Portrait
My friend, leave before you fall into my trap
My friend, I’m not what I pretend to be
My friend, I’ll only scar you
My friend, you chose the wrong fiend to befriend
My friend, I backstab all who trust me
My friend, I lie to all who speak so fondly of my deeds
My friend, I’ll bring nothing more than trouble to your doorstep
My friend, I’ll never be there when you call
My friend, I’m addicted to this way of life
My friend, I only care for things that add to my pathetic ruin
My friend, I don’t care for anybody but myself
My friend, I’m what your mother said a devil might turn out to be
My friend, I’m not proud of all of this
My friend, I’m simply honest and indiscreet
My friend, I’m losing but I’m happy and relaxed
My friend, I think you should stick around for another night and try your luck

No spiders in the city
There was once a girl that had a scream,
Which was unbelievably extreme,
She caused many neighbours to blaspheme,
For when she'd see a spider she'd scream,
By chance she heard something a bird said,
It claimed that it had been underfed,
For it lived where spiders rarely tread,
The girl believed the words that were said,
She upped sticks and moved to the city,
Which left her neighbours far from teary,
Although she found urban life gritty,
She endured the days that were dreary,
For what she had heard proved to be true,
Which led to her screams being subdued,
But there were things that were not in view,
When she saw them she altered her mood,
She'd come to learn somethings were untrue,
Things such as hard work will see you through,
However if only but a few,
Certain childish beliefs turned out true,
Monsters do live underneath the bed,
The horrid creatures filled her with dread,
She felt with spiders she'd been misled,
The true horrors were under her bed,
It became too much for her to bear,
She hated the creatures living there,
They led her to a state of despair,
So she thought she'd go and live elsewhere,
She moved back home to the countryside,
Her neighbours of course did not abide,
But they need not have heavily sighed,
The girl didn't fear spiders when spied.

On Writing...
because there is no one
you can trust now,
feeling so alone, and have no one to speak to
with honesty,
you have decided to befriend yourself
welcoming to the house of your body
your soul, your best friend now,
sharing bed with you, looking at the stars at night
with you,
and since the world is so silent
and sad
there is no choice but to talk to yourself
to the trees
the grass
and then your hands
become one big river with ten tributaries
all move towards your heart
your mouth
and from which
since then
writing begins...

The Same Story, The same History
...and so the same story is told
the same history is made....
why always speak of descrimination
why always speak of war
why always speak of class
why always speak of injustice
why always speak of poverty
why always speak of rebellion....
why not speak of equality
why not speak of peace
why not speak of respect
why not speak of wisdom
why not speak of production
why not speak of working together...
...and so the same story is told
the same history is made.
