Performances
Our life is filled with performances
from the day we are born
until the day we pass on.
Everyday we give a new performance.
Our performance always depends
on whatever kind of mood we are in,
some are on the sad side,
while others are filled with sunshine and laughter.
Each day is different
as we pass it through
and so are our performances
in our lives as we pass each day through.

The Expense Spent On The Hype
Even after all of the performances are done.
And the expense spent on the hype,
Leaves no one in the audience excited.
Or feeling their appetites have been satisfied.
The curtain on the stage will come down.
And the spotlight will be turned off.
As reviews the next day will be read.
Prescriptions will be filled.
And medications will be taken.
Even after all of the performances are done.
No one will be convinced,
Their reality lived has been truthfully represented.
Or the expense spent on the hype,
Will deliver to anyone a dividend.

I don't really think about dance except just before rehearsals start. I put it off. I don't live my life thinking about dance.

There are all sorts of reasons why I don't do much work in the theatre, the main one being that after two performances I feel I've given all I can. I hate repetition, I really do. It's like asking a painter to paint he same picture every day of his life.

Michael was very specific during rehearsals. When he was pleased, he always had this charming grin.

Rehearsals and this band are two words that don't really go together, kinda like Military Intelligence.

I'm very fast on teaching guys. Like, when I came over here, I only had two rehearsals with the band. I wondered when I first got here... but it sure came up great.

You really, really, really have to love what you are going to do in theatre because it is an unmerciful life. It's six days a week. It's eight performances a week. And that's doing the exact same thing over and over and over again.

At St. Francis de Sales in Atlanta, we do not have an organ. We do not have rehearsals during the week. We do not have a professional choir.

It was amazing that during rehearsals, without any of the costume on, the character was there complete. It just happened. Half the time, I didn't know I was doing it.

I grew up being into sports and I wasn't trained to move my body in the right way for dancing. I'm the last one to get any moves correct. In rehearsals it's always, 'OK, one more take for Zac.'
Winter testing is essential but there comes a point where you have had enough of all the rehearsals and the pretend racing. You just want to get down to the real action.

Deserving Of Thunderous Applause
In the light shining as brightly,
As man made wattage can create...
On every aspect of life uncovered these days,
There are those still deluded with beliefs...
They can do absolutely what they please.
And not be detected.
With a disregarding of flashing warning signs.
Dead end fences placed in front of paveless roads.
And limping victims bandaged from head to toe.
There are those choosing to stubbornly resist this,
With or without the validation of 'rumors'...
To remove these proven barriers.
And...
Will later admit to anyone who will listens,
How they wished that had made other decisions...
That would not only relieved them from misery and regret.
But would have also eliminated their need to find reasons,
To blame someone else...
For the feeling of their discomforts.
These performances heard more and more each day,
Are deserving of thunderous applause...
From those touched and emotionally moved,
By some the best dramatic acting found anywhere...
Although rehearsed,
But not produced for stage or film to be repeatedly witnessed.
'The tears!
The trembling of the lips.
Your slow downcasting of the eyes...
To become affixed as if saddened?
Simply incredible!
Magnificent.
One of the most brilliant performances I have 'ever' seen.'

Rehearsals and screening rooms are often unreliable because they can't provide the chemistry between an audience and what appears on the stage or screen.

You know, radio was a really easy way to do the shows. You'd come in, do a read-through, there'd be a few rehearsals, then you'd come the night of the show and do it in front of the audience and then go home.
