Both the fast and the slow will meet each other on the ferry boat.

The Horse and Cart Ferry
It was old Jerry Brown,
Who’d an office in town,
And he used to get jocular, very;
And he’d go to the Shore
When they’d serve him no more,
And, of course, by the passenger ferry,
A sight on the passenger ferry.
Now this is a song of the ferry,
And a lay of the juice of the berry;
’Tis the ballad of Brown,
Who’d a business in town,
And commenced to go down
Very slow,
Don’t you know?
By coming home just a bit merry.
By the Drunks’ Boat—that’s right—
On a Saturday night
He would often be past being merry;
With his back teeth afloat,
On the twelve o’clock boat,
And a spectacle there on the ferry
(A picture to all on the ferry).
In the mornings, ashamed—
’Twas the last drink he blamed,
Though the first was the matter with Jerry,
With his nerve out of joint,
He’d sneak down to Blue’s Point,
And he’d cross by the horse-and-cart ferry,
Like a thief—by the horse-and-cart ferry.
But long before night
He’d most likely be tight,
And a subject and theme for George Perry;
And he’d cross to the Shore,
Somewhat worse than before,
And a nuisance to all on the ferry;
Singing-drunk on the passenger ferry.
And so it went on
Till his reason seemed gone,
And the Law, so it seemed, got a derry
On Brown. He went down,
And they sent him to town
One day, by “the trap,” on the ferry—
The Government trap on the ferry.
He was sober and sane
When he came back again,
And the past he’d determined to bury—
Or, I mean, live it down—
And he crossed from the town
Like a man, on the passenger ferry.
(There were sceptical souls on that ferry.)
They say ’twas the jaw
Of his mother-in-law
Drove him back to the juice of the berry;
But he soon got afloat
On the passenger boat
Or adrift on the horse-and-cart ferry
(Wrongly called the ve-hic-ular ferry).
The drink had him fast,
And he drank till at last
He dried up—a withered old cherry;
And they thought him no loss
When they sent him across
In a box, on the cart-and-horse ferry—
In a low, covered trap on the ferry.
Which I rise to explain—
If the moral ain’t plain,
And if you’re a cove that gets merry—
Always stick, when “afloat,”
To the passenger boat;
Or else to the cart-and-horse ferry,
Or you’ll make matters worse, like old Jerry.
But this is the song of the ferry,
And the lay of the juice of the berry;
And you will not deny—
If you read by-and-bye—
That the casual eye
Of the Tight
At first sight
Misses much in the song of the ferry.

The Fast Ferry
the fast ferry
runs on a very calm sea
like a pen
writing on a very
clear paper
leaving
a trail of some
words, thoughts
about loved ones
who perished
one night
the same calm sea
swallowed
a very big boat
and having
satisfied itself
to the full
like a boa
on bulging stomach
it rests
and closes its eyes
and sleeps
beside the fast
ferry
where i ride
are dolphins
accompanying
this
silent
merrymaking
of the mind
the eyes
look at them
still puzzled
quizzical
the heart
is still unaccepting

Slow Boat To China
Lets take a slow boat to china. leave from south carolina
Lets take our time and go the long way
On a junk boat to thailand with your hand in mine hand
I sure hope we got something to say
Well, this old boats go no sail so wont you please hold our mail-
For awhile
Thanks anyway pal but the suez canal -
Aint our style
Lets take a slow boat to china and maybe well find a
New way to play those same old games
The stars just might show us and the captain will know us
Shake our hands and call us by our first names
Well send a postcard to grandpa of a vase or rickshaw-
He dont care
Well buy mom a kimono or maybe well just phone her -
When were there
Well drink sake at night beneath the soft harbor lights-
On the bay
Well build house on the hill next to shangri-li bill -
And well stay
Lets take that slow boat to china (lets go)
Slow boat to china (real slow)
Slow boat to china (lets go)
Slow boat to china (real slow)
Lets go real slow

Ferry Me Across The Water
‘Ferry me across the water,
Do, boatman, do.’
‘If you've a penny in your purse
I'll ferry you.’
‘I have a penny in my purse,
And my eyes are blue;
So ferry me across the water,
Do, boatman, do.’
‘Step into my ferry-boat,
Be they black or blue,
And for the penny in your purse
I'll ferry you.’

Cat Not Bad
A bad man
made a boat
boat to ferry
ferry for village
witty cat madly want to travel
badly not fit for travel
travel only for man
village kids love the cat
cat travel with kids
hide with a school going kid
on the school bag
hidden cat want to a fun
funny way it ate the snakes...
warn your kids not to play with a cat
or touch the tail
or eat the fruit when not for you...
When I was young, I was too slow. I thought I must learn to run fast by practicing to run fast, so I ran 100 meters fast 20 times. Then I came back, slow, slow, slow.

Crickety-Crack, the boat went!
My prayer goes to those who lost their loved ones,
With my face in my palm
The sea angry, far from being calm
Crickety-Crack, Crickety-Crack,
The boat went
And in that moment
I was very scared
Crickety-Crack, Crickety-Crack,
The boat went
And in that moment
I feared for our lives
All that was on my mind was
How we were going to survive
Unlike the doomed Egyptian ferry
Nothing happened, though I was very weary
And far from being merry
I could feel the power of its engine
If this boat went down
No one would win
No one would know where to begin
Everything on the ferry was shaking
People were just sitting and faking
Or perhaps I was mistaking
Because of the looks of unconcerned faces
If there were scared
There were no significant traces
Crickety-Crack, Crickety-Crack,
The boat went
And in that moment
I became very nervous
With the complete knowledge
The sea is such a powerful force
A reassuring hand
Made me understand
What is to be, will be
I suddenly realised the Sea
Is far more superior to the Land

Dali
High, in Castille,
Lives senora Dali alone.
And higher still
She keeps her gallery.
Distance means nothing to me.
A-ee-aha-ee-aha-oo,
A-ee-aha-ee-aha-oo...
Debris everywhere,
Gazing. It's amazing.
Ferry me over,
Ferry me over,
Ferry me over
The music, Dali.
Deeper here lies hidden answers and treasures for him.
"Oh, I prefer absence," said she,
"My heart grows fonder alone."
A-ee-aha-ee-aha-oo,
A-ee-aha-ee-aha-oo...
Debris everywhere,
Gazing. It's amazing.
Ferry me over,
Ferry me over,
Ferry me over
The music, Dali.

On A Slow Boat To China
On a slow boat to china
By: frank loesser
1948
To spike jones and the city slickers and darlene vare
-- spoken:
And now from the grand ballroom
The s.s. ? ? ? ? proudly presents our boy singer: jimmy boofey
Take it away jim
Id love to get you
On a slow boat to china
All to myself alone
Get you and keep you
In my arms ever more
Leave all your lovers
Weepin on a far away shore (waiter!)
Out on the briny
With the moon big and shiny
Melting your heart of stone
Honey Id love to get you
On a slow boat to china
All by myself alone
-- spoken:
Whos steering the boat?
Whos steering this boat?
Waiter!
May I get a drink around here, now uh...?
You ever been on a cruise?
Neither have i!
(instrumental)
...isnt that a good one?
Yes, can I see you later, you bet!
Excuse me, I have to go back to the bandstand now
Id love to get you
On a slow boat to china
All to myself alone
A twist in the rudder
And a rip in the sails
Driftin and dreamin
Honey throw the compass over the rail
Out on the ocean
Far from all the commotion
Melting your heart of stone
Honey Id love to get you
On a slow boat to china
All by myself alone
(I have to go now)
(wait! dont leave!)
Honey Id love to get you
On a slow boat to china
All to myself alone
-- spoken:
You know our last set is at two
I get off after that
What you doin?
Would you like to take a stroll around the upper deck?
See you then
Maybe, oo-hoo

Time That's Given To You Quickly Goes
Speeding up to catch on fast,
What has long slipped from your grasp...
Is like playing ping pong,
In those yesterdays gone.
You left your saddle to collect upon it dust.
And that boat you use to paddle has rust.
Now...
You believe that you can just float.
And...
You believe that you can just mope.
But...
Time that's given to you isn't slowed,
No...
Time that's given to you quickly goes.
So...
There's no boat for you to slow row.
No!
Time that's given to you quickly goes.
You left your saddle to collect upon it dust.
And that boat you use to paddle has rust.
So...
There's no boat for you to slow row.
No!
Time that's given to you quickly goes.
And...
You believe that you can just mope.
But...
Time that's given to you isn't slowed.
Speeding up to catch on fast,
What has long slipped from your grasp...
Is like playing ping pong,
In those yesterdays gone.
And...
You believe that you can just mope.
But...
Time that's given to you isn't slowed.
No!
Time that's given to you quickly goes.
So...
Bloating hesitators oughta doze.
So...
They wont noticed that the time goes.

The Clairvoyant
The Clairvoyant
Over a cold Nordic coast a seagull flies and sees
the bay between the island and the coastal town.
40 minutes each way by ferry. It’s an old gull and
has a blind eye and one leg; yes, you are right,
a real pirate I used to know years ago, it knew me
too when I was a cook on that a ferry boat, sat on
the mast and waited for me to throw scraps of
food into the sea shrieking harshly, it is the gulls
way of wishing me well.
This year has no ice in the bay, there was a time
when the ferry was icebound islander folk had to
walk on ice across to get to the shops, they still
do [there is a bridge now,) ferry been sold and
is plying its trade on the delta of Bangladesh.
The day is clear I’m a seagull and can see the past
lucid as the day it is lucky that I can’t see the future,
but there is a name that warms my heart: Falluja.
The down trodden, the raped, took up arms and
fought the mightiest army the world has seen and
won a moral victory that one day will bring peace,
to Iraq. I’m not a seer, but the old pirate is, flies
beside me now and harshly shrieks, it is the way we
seagulls greet each other.

Old as is the boat it may cross the ferry once.
Surrenderee
the noise at noon
can be heard
between our
distances
you walk too fast
and so i followed
the procession of
your footsteps
maybe it was i who
was too slow or maybe
it was you who was
walking too fast
and then i was thinking
things over between us
you are too fast for me
i decided to change
my direction looking
for the path who shall
embrace my slow steps

Fragment Of A Sleep-Song
SISTER Simplicitie,
Sing, sing a song to me,
Sing me to sleep.
Some legend low and long,
Slow as the summer song
Of the dull Deep.
Some legend long and low,
Whose equal ebb and flow
To and fro creep
On the dim marge of gray
’Tween the soul’s night and day,
Washing “awake” away
Into “asleep.”
Some legend low and long,
Never so weak or strong
As to let go
While it can hold this heart
Withouten sigh or smart,
Or as to hold this heart
When it sighs “No.”
Some long low swaying song,
As the sway’d shadow long
Sways to and fro
Where, thro’ the crowing cocks,
And by the swinging clocks,
Some weary mother rocks
Some weary woe.
Sing up and down to me
Like a dream-boat at sea,
So, and still so,
Float through the “then” and “when,”
Rising from when to then,
Sinking from then to when
While the waves go.
Low and high, high and low,
Now and then, then and now,
Mow, now;
And when the now is then, and when the then is now,
And when the low is high, and when the high is low,
Low, low;
Let me float, let the boat
Go, go;
Let me glide, let me slide
Slow, slow;
Gliding boat, sliding boat,
Slow, slow;
Glide away, slide away
So, so.

I See A Boat On A River
He left on a boat
Just to follow a dream
He had to find.
You can't hold a man
When he follows a dream
That's on his mind.
I see a boat on the river,
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean,
Where to i can't say.
Boat on the river,
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean,
Where to i can't say.
I waited for him
Such a very long time,
Don't know what for
'cause i should have known
When he left on the boat
We'll meet no more.
I see a boat on the river,
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean,
Where to i can't say.
Boat on the river,
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean,
Where to i can't say.
Boat on the river,
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean,
Where to i can't say.
Boat on the river.
You're bound for the sea,
If you should find him
Please greet him from me.
There were people who came
And said it's really a shame,
Why did he take off
To follow just a dream.
But i guess they were wrong,
In life you're sailing along
And things don't turn out
As simple as they seem.
Boat on the river,
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean,
Where to i can't say.
I see a boat on the river,
It's sailing away
Down to the ocean,
Where to i can't say.
I see a boat on the river.
You're bound for the sea,
If you should find him
Please greet him from me.

Cups
Bubble girl you feel like a movie
Bubble blow a bit faster
Liquid
Bubble fish take fast now
Faster
Bubble fast slow down
The slope
Blue blue
Blue blue
Little girl
You chew girl lie on to you?
Bubble blow
Bit faster
Bit faster christian
Bubble fast slow down
Big slow ?
A bit faster
Everythings good
Dreams of me
To liquid
Dream salty?
Dream of something quick
Deep slice to sometime into my hand
False alarm
Fools imagine into slow black
Slow slow fence
Sneak up light across the horizon
Sneak up last night in moonlight
Party grasses over the ocean
I love to write
Bubble blow you comeback
You slow down
Another blow
Big faster
Big faster
Bubble fish take fast now
Faster
{ba ding ba ding and ba ding}
Drip slowdown

Ticket On A Ferry Ride
By jeff barry and bobby bloom
I got a ticket on a ferry ride.
I got a ticket and it hurts inside.
I wonder if she knows
That I dont really want to go, oh no
I still love her so.
I got a ticket on a ferry ride.
I got a ticket and it hurts inside.
I never though the day
Would come when I would say good bye this way
Wanted so to stay.
I got a ticket on a ferry ride.
I still love her so.
Dont really wanna go.
I got a ticket on a ferry ride.
I got a ticket and it hurts inside.
I wonder if she knows
That I dont really have to go, oh no
I still love her so.
I got a ticket on a ferry ride.
I got a ticket and it hurts inside.
I got a ticket on a ferry ride.
I got a ticket and it hurts inside.
I got a ticket on a ferry ride, ah.
I got a ticket on a ferry ride (repeat).
