Bad Writing

the sentence & the paragraph had agreed upon meeting at dawn
out in the middle of the page
as the reflection off the fine silver pen being lifted by the human hand in the sky
shone off the bright white recycled paper
there stood one strong paragraph,
which
was armed with clever words, quirky verbs & quiet frankly,
a whole slew of other sentences
who may or may not be brought into the fray
with this
vigilante,
who stood a good distance away from the paragraph
with its shadow blotting out part of the page-
the sentence was tight
knit
&
written in a language that the paragraph had never heard of
before-
the paragraph tilted it’s font a bit, to stave off the human shifting the paper,
causing a bit of a breeze across the soft plane,
but the sentence hadn’t come here today
to waste its time flashing its
fashion sense, and in
standard
new times roman,
it spoke out in italics
“we gonna do this or not? ”
& the paragraph,
without a moment’s hesitation,
nodded, saying, in some bold n’ fancy variation of
book antiqua,
“i been ready since i saw the punctuation at the end of your
babbling jumble of foreign words”-
at that point,
the title of the page & the
header
walked in tandem to the place in between both the paragraph
and the sentence-
now equidistant apart from both,
they talked of what had brought both these forms of writing
to the page
this brisk & early morning in
june-
to make a story short,
the foreign language sentence & the
english (current language of commerce) paragraph
had come to this duel over a
beautiful
metaphor-
and while both the title & the header could understand,
having fallen for beautiful metaphors once or twice in their own
multiple drafts, themselves,
it was still a sad sight to see two
strong forms of writing,
battling over one
metaphor,
when there were so many
phrases in the
sea of literature-
the title & the header opened up the utterance
& from that utterance, they pulled two perfect
pistols full of wit
(the weapon of choice for both the paragraph & the sentence) ,
and after handing both of the forms of writing their
prospective pistol,
they stood back and off to the side of the page,
frightened of what was to happen next-
back to back,
the paragraph & the sentence marched away from each other
space by space by space,
to the traditional margins,
and when they both reached them
they turned round quick,
firing their wit at will-
the paragraph,
hefty & edited well,
was able to fire its wit faster,
as it had already gone through so many drafts, and had
honed its skill
whereby each word within it, had its own place
(it was a “ripped” paragraph, if you can picture it-lean & not very wordy at all) ,
however,
though the sentence wasn’t as well formed as the paragraph,
it was sleek & stealthy-
its words rolled off a human’s tongue when they read it
aloud,
and in this, the sentence was able to
wiggle itself around,
missing the mass spray of wit that had been fired by the
paragraph’s pistol-
as in every fight,
there is a winner & a loser,
this one was no different,
and the hefty, well edited paragraph,
had too much to move
and too little time to do so,
when the sentence wielded its wit towards it-
the sentence, relentlessly, kept firing,
not satisfied & not feeling safe,
until the paragraph, with all of its fellow sentences within,
crumbled to the page,
now,
a mere pile of
sentence fragments & misplaced
words & punctuation.

the sentence,
victorious,
nodded to the title & the header, who nodded back,
and walked out of the lamplight & into the shadow
to embrace the sweet warmth of its
beautiful metaphor
which had been watching the wit-fight
behind the margin.

Oh, my head lay back on the seating
Been so tired, throw away my surrounding
Like the sun and moon take for granted
Soon we move through the flood and we fade away
Lie about it,
Cry about it,
Well be ok
Lean upon me,
Ill lean upon you,
Well be okay
Oh, I lay myself at your feet laughing
Hope mine eye made of the soul choir
Lean upon me,
Ill lean upon you,
Well be okay
Lie about it,
Cry about it,
Soon fade away
Lie about it,
Cry about it,
Well be okay
Lean upon me,
Ill lean upon you,
Well be okay

All are hypocrites

We mould our words in accord
With the readers in mind.
We mould our deeds in accord
With the respondents.
We write songs in accord
With the audience.
Who aren’t hypocrites
In their words and deeds?

Accord

Accord
Step splintered walk through the sun
Who drew those feet like two lonely leaves
That never heard for each other
By a rootless tree
Who blew the wind
Into the sight of those
Black ashen eyes spreading over
The water that rests in a Sunday morn
Who tied that hair
And with which hands
Which fingers dragged
The ties into naught.

Accord
Like an accord of the distant music
Spreading horizons into merging hues
Splitting earth sky border
Who forgot
This thin line thinning even more
Up to the point of not ever being recognized
But still somehow breaking the heart
Once in accord
Reconciled?

Lean On You

The firt step to heaven
I will take in my life
I am not afraid when
I can hold you tight
If there must be an answer
Then there must be a prayer
And you must be the angel
When youre standing there
So I lean on you, I lean on you
My life is such a statement
Of my hopes and despairs
But nothing really matters
Just as long as youre there
You love me such honesty,
You love with no gain
You speak to me so tender
And you never explain
So I lean on you, I lean on you
My baby she cares
Its so easy to do
My baby she tells me what to do
She always tells me the truth
My baby she cares
Its so easy to do
My baby knows what Im gonna do
Thats why I lean on you
I dream of an island,
Of a fantasy place
Where I can go to sometimes
And nobody can trace
Well such is the nature,
The nature of love
That when we dream it
Sometimes means that we need love
So I lean on you, I lean on you
My baby she cares
Its so easy to do
My baby she tells me what to do
She always tells me the truth
My baby she cares
Its so easy to do
My baby knows what Im gonna do
Thats why I lean on you
So I lean on you, I lean on you
I lean on you, so I lean on you
(repeat chorus)

Love Is A Crime

Oooh Yeah
Chicago
If love is a crime baby
I'd do my time
Whether it's wrong or right
You can sentence me to life
If love is a crime baby
I'd do my time
Whether it's wrong or right
You can sentence me
Sentence me to life
Some might say I'm guilty of loving the first degree
If the jury wants to lock me up and throw away the key
There's no greater punishment than what I face inside
Won't tamper with the evidence cause there's nothing to hide
(He lives inside my heart)
(I'm in the middle too)
I'm in the middle too
(You never had a clue)
Unless you felt it too
(If love is a crime) baby
I'd do my time
(Whether it's wrong or right)
(You can) sentence me
Sentence me to life
(If love is a crime) baby
I'd do my time
(Whether it's wrong or right)
You can sentence me
Sentence me to life
Better tell the truth, just let me plead my case
The thief who stole my heart from me I couldn't let escape
He's my only alibi, but I won't drop a dime
So how can I give up to you, my partner in crime
(He lives inside) my heart
(I'm in the middle too)
Ooh yeah yeah
(You never had a clue)
Unless you felt it too
(If love is a crime) baby
I'd do my time
Whether it's wrong or right
You can sentence me
Sentence me to life
(If love is a crime) baby
I'd do my time
Whether it's wrong or right
You can sentence me
(Sentence me to life)
You can take away my freedom
But you can't take my love from me
I won't die a lonely prisoner
'Cause my heart will set me free
Oooh ooh yeah
Whooh!

Lean On Me-Live

Enough lies
Were all helping
We all help in sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that theres allways tomorrow
Lean on me
When youre not strong
Ill be your strenght
Ill help you carry on
For it wont be long
til Im gonna need somebody to lean on
Just call on me brother
When you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that youd understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me
When youre not strong
Ill be your strenght
Ill help you carry on
For it wont be long
til Im gonna need somebody to lean on
Lean on me
When youre not strong
Ill be your strenght
Ill help you carry on
For it wont be long
til Im gonna need somebody to lean on

Let Me Lean Hard

Let me lean hard upon the Eternal Breast;
In all earth's devious ways, I sought for rest
And found it not. I will be strong, said I,
And lean upon myself. I will not cry
And importune all heaven with my complaint,
But not my strength fails, and I fall, I faint:
Let me lean hard.

Let me lean hard upon the unfailing Arm.
I said I will walk on, I fear no harm,
The spark divine within my soul will show
The upward pathway where my feet should go,
But now the heights to which I msot aspire
Are lost in clouds. I stumble and I tire;
Let me lean hard.

Let me lean harder yet. That swerveless force
Which speeds the solar systems on their course
Can take, unfelt, the burden of my woe,
Which bears me to the dust and hurts me so;
I thought my strength enough for any fate,
But lo! I sink beneath my sorrow's weight:
Let me lean hard.

Lean On Me

Heavy burden on your shoulder
Lean on me
Heavy burden on your shoulder
Lean on me
Heavy burden on your shoulder
Everyday just a little bit harder
Heavy burden on your shoulder
Lean on me
Down and out without hope
Lean on me
Down and out without hope
Lean on me
Down and out without hope
Im right here, Ill help you cope
Down and out without hope
Lean on me
Grab a rope and pull me in
But lean on me
Everyday, youll have a friend
But lean on me
Grab a rope, pull me in
Everyday youll have a friend
Grab a rope
In the world, ? ?
And if youre looking for a rainy day friend
Well grab a rope, pull me in
Lean on me
Heavy burden cloudy skies
Lean on me
Ill be the ? ? of weeping eyes
But lean on me
If you always feels like rain
All youve got in life is pain
Heavy burden, go away
Oh... , goodbye
Heavy burden, on you shoulder
Lean on me

Little Fugue In "G"

(Lawrence Gowan)
Get your eyes open wide
And take a good look there outside
You're not here to be denied
Let them have it
Sail them rivers, fly those skies
Thirty-thousand suns to rise
And among them your true love lies
You're gonna find it
Little Face
Little Face
You got big things coming
Bigger than you ever dreamed
Little Face
Little Face
I am beside you running
On this good ol' boy you can lean
You can lean
See Little Face I understand
I won't force you on command
You can meet your own demands
And I will help you
See Little Face
Little Face
We got big things coming
Bigger than you ever dreamed
Little Face
Little Face
I am beside you running
On this good ol' boy you can lean
You can lean
And if the law should ever catch you
Doing things you shouldn't ought to do
Count on me to raise your ball 'cause
I've done worse than you could ever do
Little Face
Little Face
I ame beside you running
On this ol' boy you can lean
You can lean
You can lean right here
Little Face

Heaps And Heaps Of Leaves Under The Trees One Early Morning

ahh

I see. Too many words
sentence upon sentence

i become less and less
of what i am.

Look up the hill
a tree as bald as the leaves
that the winds had taken.

It is dead.

Sentence (to Die)

Sentence has dropped...
Waiting for social terms of thankfulness
Arrangement of next subtle plan of extermination...
Your fantasies are out of hopelessness of time
Not fulfilled expectations of desire and unfulfilment
Sentence has dropped
You creep for your next victim, molest it in dreams
Imaginary crime
New impulses disrupt interior
Suffering of unrealized hopes
Madness
Sentence has dropped
It came the end of satisfied lusts
New impulse penetrates brain
Impossibility of breaking with addiction
Self-annihilation

Headed For The Future

Written by: neil diamond, tom hensley and alan lindgren
Hey, were headed for the future
Give us some room
Were gonna build a new world
Say, were headed for the future
Give us some time
Were gonna make it work right
Yeah, were gonna build a new dream
Weve got to make it stand tall
Its got to last a long time
Lean on me
And Im gonna lean on you
Were headed for the future
And the futures now
Show you how
Yeah, were headed for a new place
A step at a time
Were gonna take a long ride
Time dont wait around forever
Weve got to do it right now
Lets do it all together
Lean on me
And Im gonna lean on you
Were headed for the future
And the futures now
Show you how
Lean on me
Cause Im gonna lean on you
Were headed for the future
Come on, lean on me
And Im gonna lean on you
Were headed for the future
And the futures ours
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Yeah
