The Worst And The Best

in the hospitals and jails
it's the worst
in madhouses
it's the worst
in penthouses
it's the worst
in skid row flophouses
it's the worst
at poetry readings
at rock concerts
at benefits for the disabled
it's the worst
at funerals
at weddings
it's the worst
at parades
at skating rinks
at sexual orgies
it's the worst
at midnight
at 3 a.m.
at 5:45 p.m.
it's the worst

Yes A Pauper Knows A Pauper

Yes a pauper knows a pauper.
And what they do.
Living on the city streets.
In snow or heat.

And when the rain pours down,
These people don't scatter to scoot.
With attitude.

Yes a pauper knows a pauper.
And what they do.
Living on the city streets.
In snow or heat.

Yet a hope most know,
For them...
Is leaning on,
Mean scenes.
In desperation.
Mean scenes...
To demean.

Yet a hope most know,
For them...
Is leaning on,
Mean scenes.
In desperation.
Mean scenes...
To demean.

And the streets they live on for them,
Will never be...
Good friends,
In the end!

Yes a pauper knows a pauper.
And what they do.
Living on the city streets.
In snow or heat.

And the streets they live on for them,
Will never be...
Good friends,
In the end!

Stingy

You know what, baby
I need to tell you somethin and
Its somethin very important, you know
I want you to just take this time out and just listen very close
You hear me, listen
Can I have you for a minute, dont get shy cause my hearts in it
When I say you got me strung out
I dont know and I cant call it, but whatever it is you got it, nah, babe
Without a doubt, yeah
Never been the one to play and I dont like to be needed
But now I guess thats all changed
Thats why I get mad at your folks cause I dont want
You to go, no, babe I want you to stay
You can say Im trippin but Im stingy
And I cant hide it (I just wanna keep you warm)
Wanna keep you all to me, Im selfish
Why try to fight it (baby, youre the only one)
Youre the only one (yeah) with the only love
Thats strong enough to claim me (come on)
So please forgive me (please), Im just stingy (mmm, hmm)
But how can you blame me (listen)
Baby, tell em how you do it cause you got me so into it
Im gone, but I dont understand
So amazin, captivatin, elevatin, any way you try to put it
I wanna be your man
So if you want me to be yours
I dont, its alright, Im for it, I would so adore it
Nothin turns me on more than bein with you, baby,
Im not trippin
You can say Im trippin (no, I aint) but Im stingy
And I cant hide it (mmm,no, I just wanna keep you)
Wanna keep you all to me (oh, yes, I do), Im selfish
Why try to fight it (baby, youre the only one)
Youre the only one with the only love
Thats strong enough to claim me (oh, yes, you are)
So please forgive me (hey...), Im just stingy
But how can you blame me
Do what you want
Anything, anything (oh, anything, Im all yours), ill
Go along (yes, I am)
cause can do no wrong (can do no wrong)
Everything, everything, I do it cause Im so wide
Open
No jokin, you got me right where you want me to be
I just hope you feel the same cause I dont want
Nothin to change
This is where I wanna be
So if you wanna put me on, I dont mind, its alright
Im for it, I would so adore it
Nothin turns me on better than bein with you, baby,
Im not trippin
You can say Im trippin (hey) but Im stingy
And I cant hide it
Wanna keep you all to me (all to me, yes, I do), Im selfish
Why try to fight it (why try to fight it)
Youre the only one with the only love (oh, why, why, why, why)
Thats strong enough to claim me (strong enough to claim me)
So please forgive me, Im just stingy
But how can you blame me (woo)
You can say Im trippin (so do what you wanna, huh)
But Im stingy
And I cant hide it (but baby, dont you leave)
Wanna keep you all to me (all I wanna do is keep you warm), Im selfish
Why try to fight it
Youre the only one (oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) with the only love
Thats strong enough to claim me (thats strong enough to claim me)
So please forgive me (please), Im just stingy (forgive me, baby)
But how can you blame me (ooh)

Silas Stingy

Once upon a time there lived an old miser man
Once upon a time there lived an old miser man
By the name of silas stingy
By the name of silas stingy
He carried all his money in a little black box
He carried all his money in a little black box
Which was heavy as a rock
Which was heavy as a rock
With a big padlock
With a big padlock
All the little kids would shout
All the little kids would shout
When silas was about
When silas was about
Chorus:
Chorus:
Money, money, money bags
Money, money, money bags
Money, money, money bags
Money, money, money bags
There goes mingy stingy
There goes mingy stingy
There goes mingy stingy
There goes mingy stingy
Money, money, money bags
Money, money, money bags
Money, money, money bags
Money, money, money bags
There goes mingy stingy
There goes mingy stingy
There goes mingy stingy
There goes mingy stingy
Silas didnt eat, which was just as well
Silas didnt eat, which was just as well
He would starve himself for a penny
He would starve himself for a penny
He wore old clothes and he never washed
He wore old clothes and he never washed
cause soap cost a lot
cause soap cost a lot
And the dirt kept him hot
And the dirt kept him hot
All the little kids would shout
All the little kids would shout
When silas was about
When silas was about
(chorus)
(chorus)
In the back of his head
In the back of his head
Was a voice that said
Was a voice that said
someone will steal it all
Someone will steal it all
Youll be lying in the gutter with an empty box
Youll be lying in the gutter with an empty box
The thieves will be having a ball
The thieves will be having a ball
(chorus)
(chorus)
He bought a safe to put the box in
He bought a safe to put the box in
And a house to put the safe in
And a house to put the safe in
And a watchdog on a chain to make quite sure
And a watchdog on a chain to make quite sure
And his face was very funny
And his face was very funny
When he counted up his money
When he counted up his money
And he realized he hadnt any more
And he realized he hadnt any more
(chorus)
(chorus)

Original - Time, My Worst Enemy

Time, My Worst Enemy
Keeping me away from you
Time, My Worst Enemy
Moving slowly when we’re apart

Time, My Worst Enemy
Fleeting when you are near
Time, My Worst Enemy
Battling with it daily

Time, My Worst Enemy
Stealing moments from the clock
Time, My Worst Enemy
Until you are in my arms again

Time, My Worst Enemy
Rapidly chasing us down
Time, My Worst Enemy
He will not take you this time

Time, My Worst Enemy
You are in my arms to stay
Time, My Worst Enemy
Has Lost!

Who Is This God Fellow And What's The Reason Why

Who is this God Fellow
And what’s the reason why
Did he murder the last poet
When he thought to cry
Who is this God Fellow
And what’s the reason why
Dose he never leave the gated community
Of his heaven in the sky.
Who is this God fellow
And what is his gig
It seems to me that he and his priest
Got the whole damn thing rigged
Is he a prince or a pauper a pusher or a pimp
That dose his jealous thing reveal
To me while I smoke a bit of hemp.
Who is this God fellow
Is he married to human by the power of a prayer
And why is it that he should even care
Who is this God fellow and what’s the reason why
Did he murder the last poet when he thought to cry
Who is this God fellow and why are his blessings to live
Only by the hands of priest that are stingy to give
Who the reason and what’s the reason why
That a small rain should collect in his eyes.

The Poor, Poor Country

Oh 'twas a poor country, in Autumn it was bare,
The only green was the cutting grass and the sheep found little there.
Oh, the thin wheat and the brown oats were never two foot high,
But down in the poor country no pauper was I.

My wealth it was the glow that lives forever in the young,
'Twas on the brown water, in the green leaves it hung.
The blue cranes fed their young all day - how far in a tall tree!
And the poor, poor country made no pauper of me.

I waded out to the swan's nest - at night I heard them sing,
I stood amazed at the Pelican, and crowned him for a king;
I saw the black duck in the reeds, and the spoonbill on the sky,
And in that poor country no pauper was I.

The mountain-ducks down in the dark made many a hollow sound,
I saw in sleep the Bunyip creep from the waters underground.
I found the plovers' island home, and they fought right valiantly,
Poor was the country, but it made no pauper of me.

My riches all went into dreams that never yet came home,
They touched upon the wild cherries and the slabs of honeycomb,
They were not of the desolate brood that men can sell or buy,
Down in that poor country no pauper was I.

* * * * *

The New Year came with heat and thirst and the little lakes were low,
The blue cranes were my nearest friends and I mourned to see them go;
I watched their wings so long until I only saw the sky,
Down in that poor country no pauper was I.

Where Is She?

Where is she, I wondered, when she wasn't there.
If she's not here she could be anywhere. She could be
anywhere and not alone.
I began to imagine the worst. At every imagining
I thought I had imagined the worst, then I imagined
something even worse. It got to the point where my
imaginings no longer included her. I realized that the
worst did not encompass her. As my imaginings continued,
as worst superseded worst, making the preceding worst
only worse, I began to forget her. As worst got worse,
I forgot her more. Things were getting pretty bad, and
I had almost forgotten her completely, when she
reappeared.

The most and the worst

Man wants money most
And uses it worst.
He wants time most
And spends it worst.
He wants things most
And waste them worst.
He wants women most
And miss them worst.

Sonnet: And If God Wants…

And if God wants, He can make one rich fast,
Or make a rich man pauper, over-night;
And if God wants, He can forgive sins past,
And give him Godliness, fervor, limelight.

And if God wants, He can destroy a town,
And every evil-minded man/ woman;
And if God wants, rebuild the town razed down,
And make an oppressed group, a blessed clan.

And if God wants, He can give one the mind,
To bear sorrow, however hard it strikes;
And if God wants, a peace of mind, he’ll find,
Despite his many life’s problems /dislikes.

And if God wants, a man can get great fame,
With His blessings and glorify his name.

That is God

Brighter than future and helps us all,
That is God, That is God.

Nobody can see, touch or smell,
but is above all lords
That is God, That is God.

Who need no explanation or evidence,
but is jury of all
That is God, That is God.

Whether one is rich, black, a pauper or white,
one who sees us all with one eye
That is God, That is God.

Who gives blessing to us and strength in a brawl,
That is God, That is God.

You may call yourself Christian, Hindu or Muslim,
But who cares and look after us all
That is God, That is God.

Are you rich?

Because parents are rich
I am not rich.
Because brothers or sisters
Or in-laws are rich,
Because own children are rich
I am no richer.
Unless I myself am rich
I cannot be rich.
Too late to understand
And hence poor I went.
