Smashing Pumpkins - Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
====================================================
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You could even say it glowed
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say (ho ho ho)
Rudolph with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sliegh tonight
Now all the others love him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, you'll go down in history
You'll go down in history
You'll go down in history

Bottle-nosed whale of river Thames

Bottle-nosed whale of river Thames
It seems at last you have found fame
In your pitiful plight
Spectators can't wait to catch a glimpse
Of your pitiful sight

But bottle-nosed whale is trapped
Lying low as his last energy is sapped
Frightened by surrounding noises
Disturbed by speculating voices
After swimming miles and miles upstream
Curosity has rewarded him with only broken dreams
Unlike a cat, you have but only one life it seems

Bottle-nosed whale of river Thames
I feel for you all the same
Hope you have found your peace at last

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

Album: Star of Wonder: Country Christmas Collection
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixon
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all
Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
You would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say:
Hey, Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee:
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
You'll go down in history!
--- Instrumental ---
Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say:
Hey, Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee:
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
You'll go down in history!
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
You'll go down in history!...

Polka Dots And Moon Beams

(BurkeVan Heusen)
A country dance was being held in a garden. I felt a bump and heard an "Oh, beg you pardon."
Suddenly I saw polka dots and moonbeams all around a pug-nosed dream.
The music started and was I the perplexed one.
I held my breath and said "May I have the next one?"
In my frightened arms, polka dots and moonbeams sparkled on a pug-nosed dream.
There were questions in the eyes of other dancers as we floated over the floor.
There were questions but my heart knew all the answers and perhaps a few things more.
Now in a cottage made of lilacs and laughter, I know the meaning of the words "ever after."
And I'll always see polka dots and moonbeams when I kiss my pug-nosed dream.
There were questions in the eyes of other dancers as we floated over the floor.
There were questions but my heart knew all the answers and perhaps a few things more.
Now in a cottage made of lilacs and laughter, I know the meaning of the words "ever after."
And I'll always see polka dots and moonbeams when I kiss my pug-nosed dream,
when I kiss my pug-nosed dream.

Cleaners

This poem is dedicated to all those who do cleaning
of one sort or another.

Some people look down at others
for the jobs they do
and if your one of them
here is warning just for you.
You may think you’re intelligent,
but I don’t think you are.
You may think you are smart,
well, think again my friend.
There are a lot of smarter people
in jobs you may look down on.
Remember the old saying
never judge a book by its cover,
that also applies to jobs people do.
Some may only be there
to keep the money coming in
until the right job comes along.
One day your boss retires
and his job goes up for grabs.
You sit there pretty smug,
thinking that job will be yours.
You apply and don’t get it.
However, surprise, surprise
they give it so someone
you looked down upon.
You maybe snooty
and toffee nosed,
but give it a year or two
you may find yourself
doing the job they used to do.
So remember what I’m saying
never look down on anyone
no matter who they are.
Because some day in the future
they maybe looking down at you.

A Long Way From Home

Youve come a long way from the runny-nosed and scruffy kid I knew
You had such good ways
I can remember the little things that always made you smile
They made you happy
Now you think youre wiser because youre older and you think
That money buys everything
And you think you need no one to guide you
But youre still a long way from home.
Youve come a long way, youre self-assured and dressed in
Funny clothes, but you dont know me.
I hope you find what you are looking for with your car and handmade overcoats
But your wealth will never make you stronger cos youre still a
Long way from home
Yes, youre still a long way from home

Stonepit

The passing traveller with wonder sees
A deep and ancient stonepit full of trees;
So deep and very deep the place has been,
The church might stand within and not be seen.
The passing stranger oft with wonder stops
And thinks he een could walk upon their tops,
And often stoops to see the busy crow,
And stands above and sees the eggs below;
And while the wild horse gives its head a toss,
The squirrel dances up and runs across.
The boy that stands and kills the black nosed bee
Dares down as soon as magpies' nests are found,
And wonders when he climbs the highest tree
To find it reaches scarce above the ground.
