i am troubled...
lord, i am troubled.
i hear the cries
of starving children.
i feel the bombs,
burning up the night.
i smell poverty,
and i taste injustice.
i shudder at prejudice,

Dirty Drowning Man
I'm a dog, a dirty flying dog. I drink Campari with marinated wild hog. I've no sense, I like electric fence. I put barbed wire in my pants and do a celtic dance.
But when I can, I'm a giving man. I'll flip you out the fire and back up into the frying pan.
And if you're down looking like you're gonna drown. Of all your friends I'm the one who's most apt to stick around.
I'm a drowning man. Who will save this drowning man. Who will save this drowning man. Who will save this dirty drowning man.
You're so fine, so bright and shiney fine. And I'm so proud to say that you in fact are a friend of mine. And doubly pleased with crooked wobbly knees. I dive on in and backstroke right across these seas of cheese.
But on the times when I'm not such a giving man. Please flip me out of the fire and backup into the frying pan.

How heavy fell the rain that day
From burdened clouds of mournful grey.
The torrent forced them stay their height -
Composure swayed by onerous might.
My skin wrung wet with icy chill
As mud embraced that sodden hill;
But mind of mine had elsewhere gone -
'Twas clouds abandoned I was on.
The driving drops advanced their gears
To camouflage my sneaking tears -
Whence now did swell such floods of pain

February Rain
To be the mud, the bog, the mire;
To soak the bones in February –
Eons from the autumn shower–
Even from a summer berry!
Sparrows chirp a desperate call,
Darting questions at the cows –
Oblivious to the dousing squall, they
Churn the sludge with pastern ploughs.
The crying air was lost in rhythm:
Drums incessant in the drops;
Not a chance for rainbow prism –
Even if the hammering stops!
Metallic chills entrap machines –
Tractors hushed within the shed.
Inside the house, a full cuisine
To bless with mead – and little said!
But out across the tiring field,
A sodden fox is hunting down
His prey of sorts – but nil of yield;
Perhaps he’ll starve; perhaps he’ll drown.
Still the clouds are hammering,
Hammering home their dreary aim –
A chatterbox in constant yammering,
Drenching all to make a claim.

Drowning
Everything is so complex
Everyday is like a test full of opsticals
That almost seem impossible
And I'm thinking just another breath not a minute left.
How long have I been drinking?
Pass the glass pint hit the flash light now break it.
People say I'm a star but I still think ill never make it.
And I'm thinking just another prayer not a second left.
I feel there's something missing
Sometimes I hate that chaos surrounds me when all the answers I see go around me.
Am I drowning?

OR am I living up to all your dreams that made me this way?

As I walk in this rain
I start pondering
Oh how I wish life was easy

If only I could walk in this rain everyday

While my big comfy t-shirt has those graceful raindrops dripping off of it
