I Am Not a Man who Does Things
There are so many of you, men who do things,
everywhere in the streets, under the sky, roofs.
Only I am here purposeless, infamous.
only good for drowning in water.
But I am waiting, have been waiting for a long time
for some wholly good, wholly honest passerby to say to him:
Oh, don‘t turn and look at me,
Oh, don‘t condemn my immobility.
I grow among you, but shaded by my hands
the mystic fruit ripens in another place.
Don‘t curse me, don‘t curse me!
Friend of deep things,
companion of silence,
I play above the doing.
Sometimes with a flute of ancestral bone
I sens myself to death as a song.
Questioning, my brother looks at me,
astonished, my sister meets me,
but wrapped aroud my feet
the snake listens to me and understands me better,
the snake with its eyes open forever
to wisdom far away.

Forever Begins
VERSE 1
Her eyes they glisten in the sun
As she watches the day become night
As the dark draws in
And then she takes a flute and plays a song
Melodies from days that have gone by
BRIDGE
And as she looks in the water
He's smiling back at her
And in her heart she knows
The time is close
For her soul to move on from this Earth
CHORUS
It's been a long time waiting
To see his face and
To feel his love again
No more crying
Soon you'll be flying
To a place where forever begins
Flying to forever, forever
To a place where forever begins
VERSE 2
She remembers a time when he was there
They were blissfully unaware
That their time was near
For the man that she loved was to go away
He'd been called to a better place
Far away from here
BRIDGE
And as she looks in the water
He's smiling back at her
And in her heart she knows
Her eyes they show
The dreams of the way things once were
CHORUS
It's been a long time waiting
To see his face and
To feel his love again
No more crying
Soon you'll be flying
To a place where forever begins
MIDDLE 8
Two lovers, they can meet again on the other side
She feels no pain, she's strong again where the angels fly
BRIDGE
And as she looks in the water
He's smiling back at her
And in her heart she knows
Her eyes they show
The dreams of the way things once were
CHORUS
It's been a long time waiting
To see his face and
To feel his love again
No more crying
Soon you'll be flying
To a place where forever begins
It's been a long time waiting
To see his face and
To feel his love again
No more crying
Soon you'll be flying

Flying to forever
To a place where forever begins
To forever, forever

Snake; an oracle of oath
The godless men worship the snake
The godless men take oath in name of snake
And the curse comes upon wrongdoer
The godless men take oath in the name of snake
And blessing rains upon the innocent
The godless men take oath in the name of snake
And snake bitten dead the lair
And snake spare life of the truer
Despite snake answers to godless men
No votive or thank given to snake, the god
So the stopped the men to swear
By it name, snake said men used
Thunder and fire for swearing instead of it name
As snake disowned the godless men
Hex fallen upon

Waiting Game
On a golden autumn day returning
Where each moment never is the same
Sometimes pure joy it comes with patience
When Im waiting on, waiting game
When Im waiting on, waiting game
There must be reason for all this inaction
Does it mean that everything must change
Sometimes Im looking for perfection
When Im waiting on, waiting game
When Im waiting on, waiting game
I am the observer who is observing
I am the brother of this snake
I am the serpent filled with venom
A God of love and a God of hate
There is a presence deep within you
Sometimes they call it higher flame
And the leaves come tumbling down, remember
Ill be waiting on, waiting game
Ill be waiting on, waiting game
I am the observer who is observing
I am the brother of this snake
I am the serpent filled with venom
A God of love and a God of hate
There is a presence deep within you
Some people call it higher power in flame
When the leaves come tumbling down, remember
Ill be waiting on, waiting game
Ill be waiting on, waiting game.....

Waiting 2
Waiting is a curse
we all have to endure.
Every minute seems
to stretch itself into five
and the five into ten
and so forth and so on.
Waiting is like a time bomb,
the more you wait
the more the ticks get louder.
You get restless,
as it seems to drag on
and on and on.
Patience is a virtue,
but waiting is a killer
drawing out your frustration
and shortening your temper
as our calm and collect feelings go.
Waiting can turn into boredom
when there seems
nothing else you can do.
Waiting is a curse
that all of us have to endure
until it is over.

Hello Tomorrow
Hello tomorrow and good-bye to yesterday
We've been waiting for this moment
And we still don't know what to say
We may never find the answers or know the reason why
Why we both decided we should say good-bye
Nothing but good things are coming my way
If you are going please let me stay
You bring me down when I'm getting high
You turn me on I amplify
1 -2-3 times you've broken me (Broken Me)
I won't bleed like this forever
I'm down to ride but my wings are severed
Blindside blitz- evacuation
I'm stuck in hell your on vacation
1-2-3 times you've broken me (Broken Me)
I've been waiting
Waiting for the day
I've been waiting
Waiting for the day
I'm still waiting for tomorrow
Tired of living in yesterday
I've been waiting
Waiting for the day I'd be over you
Oceans, devotions, these notions run dry
Floating away and I don't know why
Spend all my days in a bottle thinking
You're like an anchor got me sinking
1-2-3 times you've broken me (broken me)
Say good-bye now and mean it forever
Got to move on and keep it together
Forget the things that you've said and you've done
That's in the past, here comes the sun
1-2-3 times you've broken me (broken me)
Repeat Chorus

Waiting For The Sunrise
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
So I can take your hand and stroll about.
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
So we can go on the streets and see the people smile.
Give me your hand,
So I could tell you that things will be alright.
The rooms still dark,
But it wont be so long,
And I can take you outside.
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
So we can go to the park and roll about.
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
So we can go to the docks and watch the boats go by.
Come on, love, give me your hand,
And things will be alright.
The rooms still cold,
But it wont be so long,
That we can go outside.
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
So I could see your hair shining in the air.
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
So I can see the sky reflected in your eyes.
Come on, love, dont be depressed,
Things will be alright.
The rooms too low,
But it wont be so long,
That we can be outside.
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise,
Waiting for the sunrise.

1. The Real Snake Is Twisting In The Mouth
poor snake
life is equal so god says
but look at the snake
look at the snake..
it cant even walk
but slithers and always
at the lowest of place
and everywhere
the message is
it's evil, culprit of the Great Fall
everything the snake
lowly humbly takes
cane, blows and all
you can swing it, you can stretch it
you can bend it in any angle
because it's just a snake
there is a snake too
barely two inches long
yet it's the most pliable of them all
and that's the real one
where the first divine
curse should go
guarded all round
in a red glowing ruby palace
and gleaming pillars of enamel
the cunning and sly creature
in all smugness and warmth
could never get enough of the world
sweet, sour, bitter, salty, hot or cold
it could make satan of god
and god of satan and turn
the world upside down
without even having to leave home
effortless, treacherous as the Niagara Falls

Waiting
You've come this far by yourself
Faced the world on your own
No one heard your cries for help
You thought you were all alone
I got a different story to tell you
'Cause I've been there before
I know you'll feel so much but there's so much more
(You could wait)
But it may not be tomorrow
(Can you take?)
A minute just to listen and gonna let it go
[chorus]
This is the time
This is the place
This is the love that was given to us by grace
Don't turn away
Today is the day
Open up your heart 'cause love is waiting waiting
Now I'm not gonna have so many questions
Deep down you're wondering
But when you're driven by doubt you question everything
And I won't let you be so disappointed
But you are not here alone
So let me show you that you don't have to be on your own anymore
(You could wait)
But it may not be tomorrow
(Can you take?)
A minute just to listen and gonna let it go
[chorus] 2x
This is the time
This is the place
This is the love that was given to us by grace
Don't turn away
Today is the day
Open up your heart 'cause love is waiting waiting
He's waiting He's waiting
He's reaching up for you and those that are
So patiently waiting
So open up your mid dear open up your heart
He's waiting He's waiting
All it takes is just a smile
You wanna bring the way a brand new day
[chorus]
This is the time
This is the place
This is the love that was given to us by grace
Don't turn away
Today is the day
Open up your heart 'cause love is waiting waiting
He's waiting, He's waiting
So patiently waiting

Kissing the Fang
Snake biting once biting dead
Snake biting twice biting life
Walking in the sorghum stalk
The oldest foe- the snake heard my feet
The snake raised the neck and hissed
As our eyes met at equilibrium
I stopped and drew my spear
The hateful send boiled to the brim
The brawl commenced I speared it back fatefully
The snake bitten my right feet fatefully
The biting bit me dead I fell down breathing not
The snake bitten my left feet again.
The biting bit me life I raised up breathing lively
The snake snaked away
The venom paralyzed me but
I giddily crawled after the snake
I gasped and kissed the snake fang
I spate the healing saliva in the snake wound
We departed in peace-indeed peace in death

A funny thing is if you're out hiking and your friend gets bit by a poisonous snake, tell him you're going for help, then go about ten feet and pretend YOU got bit by a snake. Then start an argument about who's going to get help. A lot of guys will start crying. That's why it makes you feel good when you tell them it was just a joke.

Death Is My Companion
(4/3/12)
Where do we go from here? When death is very near.
Is there another plateau we must climb
Before we reach the end of the line.
Death is just a resting place - a rest stop if you must!
You will not be afraid if in GOD you put your trust.
Death is my companion - he holds my hand
Death is my companion - he understands.
Known as the angel of death, the grim reaper
Of this temporary life he is the keeper.
In his clutches you'll be for a short spell
Till they decide if you're going to heaven or hell.
This is a rest stop where you take a break
Till they decide what is your fate.
So while I am on this plateau
There is no where that I will go.
Where do we go from here?
Your guess is as good as mine
As long as I'm not here until the ends of time.
This must be purgatory that I hear so much about
Maybe this is where we can turn our lives about.
Death! I know you're my companion
And we have walked hand in hand
But there is something I think you should understand
There are things on this earth that I must do
And until I finish them, my life on earth is not through.
I put my faith in GOD that he will show me the way
And from that road, I know I will not stray.

Deep Water
Is it a crime for me to be feeling this way
I'm going out of my mind and there's
no change from a runaway love
Is it a dream (is it a dream)
That I'm throwing in the wishing well
I'm losing control my body and soul
(body and soul)Standing here waiting
for a train that may never come
I saw the signs I read the books
I should of had a second look
ut you caught me dreaming
nd there were times you'd come around a
we'd agreed to just be friends tell
me who it's fooling oooo
Deep water I'm drowning
Deep water I'm slowly drowning in deeper
Deep water I'm drowning
Deep water I'm slowly drowning in deeper
what do I say(what can I say)
where words have failed me before
what do i do when i'm feeling so blue
and there's no place for me to run and hide
I saw the sun inside your smile and wished
for then just awhile cause boy you caught
me dreaming a giant step into the dark
and we through caution to the wind tell
me who we're fooling oooo
Deep water I'm drowning
deep water i'm slowly drowning in deeper
Deep water i'm drowning
deep water i'm slowly drowning deeper
i'm drowning
deeper deeper i'm drowning in deeper
oh i saw the signs i read the book
i should have had a second look
cause boy you caught me dreaming
and there are times youd come around
and we'd agreed to just be friends tell me who it's fooling
Deep water i'm drowning
deep water i'm slowly drowning in deeper
deep water i'm drowning
deep water i'm slowly drowning in deeper
deeper deeper deeper
i'm drowning in deeper
(drowning in drowning in drowning in)
deeper deeper deeper
so deep is the water
(drowning in drowning in drowning in)

For a happy couple
When situations do not play out
As we would wish them to, we become
Critical, irritated and furious.
We curse and condemn from helplessness.
To curse or condemn wrongs is a refusal
To accept their reality; note.
Not to curse or condemn wrongs is not
That you condoned them and from weakness.
A dog's tail cannot be kept straightened.
Either accept it as a reality
And remain with it if you have to.
Thus spouses can be in harmony.

Reasons
Living on the streets of nowhere
Nobody understands and nobody cares
Nobody Listens, so who can I tell my life is just a living hell
I'm going back and forth no one to turn to
Slowly losing my mind so what am I doin'
If you could only see the pain and hurt in my soul
But you don't understand me so how could you know
Sometimes it gets so bad I think I'm losing it
Can't get a hand out of life so I'm losing my grip
And when you lose your grip, then you begin to slip
Death is just waiting one to trip
Heading down the path to nowhere
No one can hear me, 'cause nobody's there
Life gets darker and there's no light at all
When the ways of this world just prepare me for the fall
What can I do, what can I say
I don't know love, only hate
What would you do if you were mep
I guess you'll never know
How would it feel to walk in my shoes
A victim of this world only used and abused
Trapped in a box with the walls coming down on me
Suffocated by my sin, it keeps drowning me
They say they know how I feel
Let's end it all, right now, that's how I feel
Don't have a care in the world, life means nothing
Don't look back, don't look back, just keep running
Run - Keep running
Run - Keep running
How long, o Lord?
Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
And everyday have sorrow in my heart
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, o Lord my God
Give light to my eyes or I will sleep in death
My enemy, will say "I have overcome him"
And my foes rejoice when I fall
But I still believe in you Lord
And I know that you're real, you're so real Lord
Come and take me away from this place Lord
Everyday I will follow and seek your face Lord
But I trust in your unfailing love
My heart rejoices in your salvation
I will sing to you my Lord
For he has been, for he has been
Good to me
You're the one who rescued me
And you're the one who set me free
I kept on running, but there's nowhere to hide
You took me in with your arms open wide
You loved me first when no one else would
You died for me so I give my life to you
False hopes and lies
But you're the one who's next time I run
I'm running straight to you

The Fits of Weather
Sunlight on a snake in between the
Rabbits and the caesuras:
And it seems that she has the sunlight in her eyes,
Like the birthday candles of good luck,
While the airplanes curl and caracole:
And Sharon never looked so beautiful, even though
Now I hardly have to think of her,
Because I have different pains that are more impending,
And I house I come home to be alone in,
While my pets move in the north, waiting for me with
More faith that I will ever have:
And the snake looks away to other pornographies
Waiting for little boys in the abandoned cars of their
Drunken fathers:
And he goes to her, and they curl around for awhile,
Dancing,
While I wait for the fits of weather that I am sure are
Just around the bend.

Homage To Sextus Propertius - IV
DIFFERENCE OF OPINION WITH
LYGDAMUS
Tell me the truths which you hear of our constant young lady,
Lygdamus,
And may the bought yoke of a mistress lie with
equitable weight on your shoulders;
For I am swelled up with inane pleasurabilities
and deceived by your reference
To things which you think I would like to believe.
No messenger should come wholly empty,
and a slave should fear plausibilities;
Much conversation is as good as having a home.
Out with it, tell it to me, all of it, from the beginning,
I guzzle with outstretched ears.
Thus? She wept into uncombed hair,
And you saw it.
Vast waters flowed from her eyes ?
You, you Lygdamus
Saw her stretched on her bed,
was no glimpse in a mirror;
No gawds on her snowy hands, no orfevrerie,
Sad garment draped on her slender arms.
Her escritoires lay shut by the bed-feet.
Sadness hung over the house, and the desolated female attendants
Were desolated because she had told them her dreams.
She was veiled in the midst of that place,
Damp woolly handkerchiefs were stuffed into her undryable eyes,
And a querulous noise responded to our solicitous reprobations.
For which things you will get a reward from me, Lygdamus?
To say many things is equal to having a home.
And the other woman 'has not enticed me
by her pretty manners,
'She has caught me with herbaceous poison,
she twiddles the spiked wheel of a rhombus,
'She stews puffed frogs, snake's bones, the moulted
'She stews puffed frogs, snake's bones, the moulted
feathers of screech owls,
'She binds me with ravvles of shrouds.
Black spiders spin in her bedl
'Let her lovers snore at her in the morning!
May the gout cramp up her feet!
'Does he like me to sleep here alone,
Lygdamus?
'Will he say nasty things at my funeral?'
And you expect me to believe this
after twelve months of discomfort ?

Cold Hearted
(elliot wolff)
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh
Girl dont play the fool--no
Youre the one givin up the love
Anytime he needs it
But you turn your back and then hes off
And runnin with the crowd
Youre the one to sacrifice
Anything to please him
Do you really think he thinks about you
When hes out
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh
Girl dont play the fool--no
It was only late last night
He was out there sneakin
Then he called you up to check that you
Were waiting by the phone
All the worlds a candy store
Hes been trick or treatin
When it comes to true love girl with him
Theres no one home
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh
Girl dont play the fool--no
You could find somebody better girl
He could only make you cry
You deserve somebody better girl
Hes c-cold as ice
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh
Girl dont play the fool--no
Hes a cold-hearted snake
Look into his eyes
Oh oh oh
Hes been tellin lies
Hes a lover boy at play
He dont play by rules
Oh oh oh

I Prayed to God to Send Me A Friend
I prayed to God to send me a friend
Who had things in common with me
Someone who looks beyond here and now
Who lives life joyfully
I prayed to God to send me a friend
Because I was lonlely for someone who
Tries to walk in God's light, as is good and right
A friend who is honest and true
I prayed to God to send me a friend
Who nurtures me back in return
And talks of things that matters in life
Who's open to what life has to learn
I prayed to God to send me a friend
Who shows concern for me when I hurt
Someone who listens, when I have something to say
And who cares for me, even at my worst
I prayed to God to send me a friend
Who likes Irish music as I do
Someone who is proud of her culture and past
And enjoys a good verse or two
I prayed to God to send me a friend
And he listened to me too
My prayers have been answered, He sent me a friend
My good friend, he sent me........you.

In the darkness of your skin
In the darkness of your skin
Is the ancestral love of men
In your eyes, yes deep within
Is the love that can but win
Your hands must be posed to defend
The love that loves itself as kin
Brother to brother sister to sister
We blacks have come to discover
The ease of loving each other
A battle fought hard and won
Under the African and American sun
Be it for the poets to say
That in matter of the heart we know the way
To praise by the motion of our pens
The glorious love of men for men
We warn you brother do not condemn
What it is that you do not understand
Except your brother as friend
For he is needed in the battle
Of the fight that we must fight
To hold in heart the American rights
Be you not ashamed if he put on a grown
Be you not ashamed if he put on make-up
And don a wig to wear as a grown
But see him true as a work of art
let not his masquerade set him apart
If you think true that your God deny
Then you must be brave to question why

The Mountain And The Snake
a long black yellow snake with stripes
arrives hissing
looking for a prey
a rat perhaps
but there is none
not even an ant for a snack
and so the long black yellow snake with stripes of green
slides its way to a dark, moist cave
tight on its door
pushing its long slimy body
to the tip of the
cave's orifice to the end of its
intestine
it was a good tickle
and the whole body of the mountain
gives a tremble
a moan and from the slits of its sides
to the tip of its feet
and toes and trees
the whole body of the mountain
moans
happy with the long slimy body of the
snake's skin and bone.
